Hello, sorry to disrupt the music banter but some of us are seeking info about whether the game will actually go ahead...
-
In terms of re-arrangement, the Echo advises that the available fixture slots midweeks of the weeks commencing March 11, April 15, April 22 and April 29. I would prefer we go for next week, April is already pretty full-on and we need to brace ourselves for the play-offs too.

Speaking of the roads around Southampton, how has it been since the temporary one way system been in place? I haven't been to Southampton since it's started, how bad is it? edit - never mind the roads, if the neighbouring site is burning down then I'll leave it. On the positive side, chances are we get KWP and Fraser back for the rearranged match.

Not sure Millwall have exclusivity rights over it. I've heard us do it before the match on the stairs up to the San Siro upper tier. Thought it sounded great, and despite the lyrical complexity I'm surprised it doesn't seem to have caught on. I look forward to seeing it on a songsheet in the future along with a full multiple verse OWTS.

Liverpool 3-0 Saints - Match Thread

BBC 5 Live Extra is using the BBC Merseyside feed. I did wonder why it felt especially nauseating to hear, I've been listening for 15 mins and they've mentioned about 10 seconds on the opposition - no exaggeration. -
Nathan Jones 🤣

Everyone can except Rotherham. We're still not safe from the other relegation spots.

That wasn't a defeat though, regardless of the bus parade and annual celebration ritual that followed

I like to post on here after the game to sprinkle some passive-ag "I told you so" type comments, in the hope that amongst the interminable landfill of my internet waffle and utter waste of bandwidth, nobody can really be bothered to sift through all the dross of my posting history and find the receipts where I was confidently talking utter shite. It's highly therapeutic and I strongly recommend you all try it at some point in the near future.

Fair point although in our case the answers were Pellegrino, Hughes, Hasenhuttl and a couple of others. With hindsight, I would have taken Puel over nearly all of them. I do agree with you though - Leicester managed to win trophies either side of his tenure. Says it all really.

When people talk about aiming for the stars and maybe landing on the moon, I'm not sure Adam Armstrong launching another shot into orbit is quite what they had in mind.

What a great example of positive masculinity that we can feel secure enough in ourselves to express our admiration for the looks (if not achievements) of some of our men's team. However, I consider it a great shame and tragedy that there is no real equivalent for our women's side. I dream that one day the sexist double standard glass canopy that overshadows over this thread can be smashed.

He's always been a UKIP type, I expect in elections gone by he's come close to losing his deposit at some point. Ultimately for me, his legacy is the stadium and academy, both of which gave us the platform for the exciting period under Liebherr. Imagine the cost of building a stadium like St Mary's today. We were treading water in the championship under him, but better than under the charlatan Mike Wilde - for once, Guided Missile was right about something. A while ago I came across this video on Youtube but didn't bother posting at the time. Mark Dolan is quite out of his depth as the interviewer, not sure how he's got that gig as a comedian but I guess the channel chose to blow their budget on their 'stars' like Lee Anderson or Rees-Mogg. About two thirds of it consists of Lowe's (mostly rose-tinted) views on his time at Southampton. I was intrigued that he blamed phone-hacking for the Hoddle leak, also found interesting how he talks up the impact of foreigners like Georges Prost for us given his political stance.

“Mauricio believes with the quality we have we can play exciting, attacking football, taking the game to our opponents by playing a high-intensity game". Easy to mock this forum sometimes but got to give credit, there was a lot of scepticism here when these words were said.

His choice of club says otherwise, must have been tough to choose between the two given his background but he made the right decision in the end. So I think we'll have to agree to disagree. Decent guy too by all accounts. I think it would be unfair to denigrate the likes of Channon or Stokes with the skate label too, for what it's worth. To bring it back closer to topic, my analysis is that "he used to be a skate but he's alright now".

I agree with what you're saying, although have to take exception at prefacing JWP's name with skate, unless you know something the rest of us don't.

Sekou Mara - Official: Signs for Strasbourg

You couldn't add me to that list of foolish naysayers, because I couldn't be arsed to say anything in the first place. Consider it a bit of ennui from last season, but I'll put my hand up and say I felt slightly disappointed we didn't get him out on loan a couple of weeks ago. We've had loads of 'talented' players since we returned to the Prem who ended up contributing very little. Happy to be proven wrong here. -
It wouldn't let me sign in either, just kept sending me back to the login screen and wouldn't let me log in as a guest. Really annoying.
-
I prefer to think that it's Leicester who will challenge us now 😉
-
Fair enough but maybe consider the possibility that without the away fans to 'banter' with and the influx of others from around the ground who do want to stand and sing, the existing culture could mature enough to something a bit more palatable for you.

Is 24 the record to beat for our Southern League era?

Adam Armstrong - Official: Loaned to WBA
Ted Bates Statue replied to Harry_SFC's topic in The Saints
I hope so. He did score in his very first game with us after all. Confidence sapped away quickly afterwards as a result of the factors you mention
