Don't believe that is necessarily the whole truth - Administrators also have to look at who would provide the best chance of the entity being a going concern over a period of time, and that would involve ensuring that the 'buyer' is stable and not just a short-term fix. Otherwise any tom-d1ck-or money launderer could thrown down some cash and get the deal. Who mentioned Crouch?!? Not me. As far as I am concerned Lowe, Wilde, Crouch have all had their time (although I would say Leon's heart was at least in the right place - but that isn't enough). We need a heavy-hitter if we're going to move forward and prosper.

Suspect it will be at least be near 30k.

From another thread, by Exit2 - So, yes, your fears may be justfified, but is he really that much of a pr1ck/egotist....? Yes, of course he is. But does he have the money? Would the Admins deem him a good buyer, given his key role in where we are now??

Wilde and Lowe have just been escorted from the premises

Lordy - is he really that much of a sucker for punishment? Isn't driving us into League 1 and Adminsitration enough for him? Why doesn't he just f**k off and shoot ducks for the rest of his life. Honestly, what a ****. -
SSN Breaking News - LOWE, COWEN AND WILDE RESIGN FROM CLUB BOARD...

Um (or anyone), any idea to what extent Ipswich had their debt renegotiated by Aviva? Writing off some of the debt would be ideal, but is it just fanciful? From Aviva's perspective, better to get a buyer and some payback than nothing at all I guess. http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/banking_and_finance/article6018444.ece

They have other things to deal with today!
-
Suspect that is highly unlikely.
-
Agreed. I'm sure those at the Football League are already working out who they can impose an even heavier points deduction next season, whichever league we're in, to set an example...

http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/leisure/article6012015.ece I love these silly little graphs that are produced at times like this to "explain" the situation... (click the Multimedia link). Thorugh one of the other links on that page I couldn't help notice that it is a year to the day that Lowe and Wilde called for the EGM. Well done you two - look what you achieved in less than a year, jettisoned two more managers, seen us firmly ensconced in the bottom 3 again, and now finally administration. Break out the bubbly Rupert, your mission is accomplished!

We need more than Matt unfortuantely - big bucks and some real business acumen. In other news, I see another of our old boys, Iain Dowie is off to Newcastle to be Alan Shearers #2.

Sorry, you were saying...?

Pehaps he'll get a slap from a G20 protestor...

I agree. The only realistic chance we had was the SISU deal. Had we have tied that up, we'd now be on an even keel financially, and likely have Chris Coleman as manager. Yet another example of a pathetic, self-interested, failing of our (successive) boards. Frankly none of them have been up to the job. The fans, and the City deserve better than the clowns we have holding the reigns. I have not doubt there is NO white knight on the horizon, and it also wouldn't surprise me if the League didn't act in some way re. a points deduction this season.

There's an important point in there about the role "cabinet government" and/or just having some other voice of reason around to apply some constraint. We just don't have that among our board - just the invertebrate Wilde, and a handful of lapdogs. Hence, Lowe ploughs on with his schemes without objection and we end up, well, where we are..

I think there would be about 30k odd suffering from that at the moment - and with good reason!
-
Cheers, will dig it out.

Duncan - what part of the Grauniad is it in?, would like to read it (sorry, being lazy!).
-
You mean he actually posts on here himself?! I thought he just had his mini-army of acolytes for that...
-
Well, he has always shown worrying personality traits, nice to finally have a name for it though. He's in the company of many a crazed leader - who lose sight of their remit to serve the public and have overblown belief in their own importance/ability... How do we get saddled with these people...
-
It's an overused phrase, but yes, if we can't win this one then there really is no hope. Charlton are pretty much down already - Phil Parkinson has said as much publicly now - that does however mean the pressure will all be on us, and we know what happens when that is the case. That said, have faith - we are more than capable of thumping them. A critical game for Wotte - he has to get them fired up AND performing.

Thank God for our revolutionary board, and for the fact they didn't just "settle" for the work that Nigel Pearson had started last season... just imagine how boring this season would have been?!
