  1. Both those BT Sport pundits, Jenas and that woman are gonna go home and have a chug over the win and the penalty. Big dirty smirks from them both when it was suggested that Spurs were going out to Norwich next round. How can you get a true reflection and analysis on the match when you’ve got Spurs a**e lickers giving their biased opinion and nobody propping up the Saints side?
  2. That woman pundit on BT Sport used the words “no doubt it’s a penalty, he’s made contact” It shows a close up of Gunn brushing his hand over Son’s knee.
  3. This. All the hype about wiping out diving and the VAR check allows the dive for a penalty, it’s incomprehensible, it’s really clear, is it not, or is it just me?!
  4. The fact that VAR allows the dive, as there is clearly no contact, loses my faith in the system and I was a supporter of it.
  5. Disgusting goal. GET IN!
  6. Oh great, on comes the diving p***k , Dele.
  7. Aw s**t. I hope JWP isn’t injured as much as this looks!
  8. We still look great, far better than Spurs! Some lovely passing going on!
  9. Awful luck. Fantastic tackle by Stephens and the shot wide deflected in, damn. What a chance for Ings, man!
  10. Probably will come up short eventually, but how good do we look, impressed, well played boys.
  11. Whilst we still have big earners on our books that we cannot yet shift, not spending on transfer fees and still trying to reduce our expenditure/wage bill is evident in some sense that financially we are being sensible. The club will definitely spend money in the summer, of course we will. But, whilst we are in a somewhat safer position than anyone envisaged us to be at this point in the season in the league, I’m more than happy not to see us throw another £20m at a deadline day flop. I’m optimistic that this is the summer (and it’s been a long time coming!) that we can finally cut ties with the many players (out on loan absolutely everywhere) we all want to see the back of and see us able to invest some of their transfer fees and freed up wages on players that can actually contribute to our first team squad. Like has been said above, it’s not that we haven’t tried to buy and strengthen in these past few windows. We HAVE and DID buy and in some case spent a small fortune on, unfortunately, utter garbage. We wouldn’t be complaining so bad if all our purchases from the last two or three windows all turned out to be Mane’s or Van Dijk’s. it’s just frustrating to see that we’ve spent so much and almost none of those signings are anywhere near our club, record signings playing elsewhere, leeching our wage budget and stunting our progression and there lies the blame with those in charge of recruitment these past few years. Money is only an issue because we have so many flops on loan, leeching away at our budget. Until we part company, hopefully for some sort of fee, we can’t look to acquire more expensive acquisitions. In that respect, I’m hoping that’s what we are doing now, cutting down our expense and waiting until the summer, offloading more of our deadwood out on loan before we buy, that would be my definition of well run.
  12. Agree with you on that. Makes me worried that as soon as Ings undoubtably gets his England Euro 2020 place with everyone else crocked, our eyes light up from another big shiny paycheck. Being a Saints boy, I’d hope he’d want to stay with us.
  13. Trying to be optimistic about this transfer window and the upcoming Summer. The more we’ve been accumulating the wins this month and pushing away from 18th, the more I’ve been content on not disrupting the side and spending needless money in January when prices are stupid. (I’m hoping that’s the sort of thinking Ralph and the board have agreed on lately, but maybe I’m just trying to be too positive for a Saints Web poster) We’ve got a long list of players that need shifting this summer again, but, being optimistic, it looks like this could be the window that we free up some much needed wage budget what with; Yoshida not getting a game Cedric gone Long questionable to stay for another year Adams no doubt wanting a move by then for game-time Ely looking like a bargain for Celtic Forster seems happy up at Celtic too Boufal drumming up some interest and not getting much game time here Vestergaard not really cutting it and interest back in Germany Hoedt & Carrillo, god knows, hopefully some sucker might give us a couple of £m I know that’s a long list, but I’m confident we could get rid of a good six on there. Question is, is Ralph going to be backed with some extra cash on top of the sales, or just a piddly £15m/£20m to play with from those moving on, which in terms of teams around us and what they NEED to spend in this league to keep competitive, is such a farse. I hope we see a good window, making a good £15-£20m in sales and Ralph given £30-£50m to improve the squad, everyone else seems to have no problem splashing a little cash, hopefully we’ll see a little well placed expenditure this year.
  14. Well, I’m deflated. Shouldn’t be at home, 2-0 up and ending the game with zero points. We’ve played well the last month, but to lose from that position at HT is poor.
  15. All set up for a Che Adams winner? Wouldn’t that be nice!
  16. Ah dear, I’m gutted, but I knew this day would eventually come. If we take nothing from this game now I’ll be devastated.
  17. Pinching myself. Where have these performances come from?! If you’d gone into a coma at the end of November, languishing in 19th place with 8pts, around 5 points from safety and woke up mid-January a handful of points off 5th with 31pts, you’d have think you’d died and gone to heaven lol.
  18. What happened to this?
  19. I do agree. I was expecting us to have a quiet January after seeing us almost break into the Top 10. As long as we do the correct business in the summer moving on those that need to leave the club or have been languishing away at other clubs on loan and the money given to Ralph to invest in the right areas. The above is all good, bearing in mind that we still have enough to survive the drop this year.
  20. No, we still don't like him. I want someone who attends regularly and actually shows some enthusiasm and interest in football. He's got none of that. I wonder if he could actually name his own players. I'd be inclined to say he wouldn't have a clue about a vast majority of our squad.
  21. Are we surprised? 16 days in of silence, been on a good run and we've decided not to bring in anyone. Let's hope a few injuries don't bite us in the arse.
  22. Not as influential as Traore, but Vinagre pulled up with a hamstring problem towards the end of that game also. Hopefully means a lot of tired legs will have to play again come the weekend.
  23. After the Chelsea game highlights, MOTD ended up discussing Abraham leading the line for England in Kane’s absence. The only other two mentioned were Rashford and bringing Vardy out of retirement. Unbelievable after scoring 10 in 10.
  24. Unbelievable. Well done Ralph and the boys!
  25. Surely it doesn’t matter how fast the ball is travelling? The bottom line is, your hand shouldn’t be waving about your head, full stop? I like VAR, it’s the guy making the decision behind the screen that’s the problem with consistency.
