Two things that irritate me the most: 1) Buying new players to try and improve the side, yet sit them on the bench for entireties of the match and still stick with a same XI that we’ve had all season and wonder why we are still as shit as we were before the World Cup when all the other teams are buying and sticking them straight in. 2) Strikers. No goals = Starting with Adam Armstrong and Che Adams. Sheer lack of urgency to have bought anyone in, should have had someone in early January, nevermind in the summer and we are STILL waiting, 31st January is going to be FAR too late, our lack of goals are evidently going to relegate us and the board can thank the time they’ve wasted to bring anyone in for that. The only question on my mind now is, who is actually going to stay with us when we go down and who are we losing? We are effectively down with the sheer lack of points we have had from our “winnable run” - absolutely no chance we are getting 25+ pts from here.

Man. Seriously didn’t make any changes at half-time? ffs. No Willy, no Alcaraz, No Orsic, No Mara. Must have been quite happy with our abysmal first half, destined to lose this - Must be the Southampton managers’ way to be reactive to us going 1-0 down and not proactive being overrun at 0-0 😩
-
Probably because we’re still the same team that played the first half of the season when we were poor then. No new additions playing, nothing new up front, is it any surprise that Che and Adam Armstrong haven’t turned into goal machines, they’re still not good enough for us, but the board have sat on it for most of January now too and the games we need to win/are winnable against teams around us are becoming fewer before the big teams come calling.

Gone the young route again, with possible re-sale value if he does well, rather than experienced and proven. That being, I cannot imagine we are looking for an ST on top of this N.Jackson purchase. It doesn’t help us with the situation we are in now, we need whomever comes in to hit the ground running, like you said, score 10+ goals to win us the points to keep us up, sorry, just can’t see it with N.Jackson 😢

So much for Premier League experience, going for an unproven 21 year old who has hardly found the net in 30+ games. I’d have expected far better for £20m. A gamble on wether he comes good is one we cannot afford in our position right now, we need guaranteed goals, proven goalscorer. As much as a backward step it may seem, of the targets spoken about recently, Ings is far better than any, especially compared to £20m on this guy, you’d get Ings for a snip of that price. I hope I’m wrong if this goes through.
-
The management just need to offer Lorient £25m in an offer that is suitable for us financially and Moffi a lucrative deal to come to the EPL, he’s the type of guy we are crying out for and after that Everton win, we have a chance now to stay in this league and make back what we’ll shell out for him in the TV money that we won’t lose out on by going down!

I said this over Xmas, if we didn’t get a striker in at the start of the window, before the Nottm Forest match, we’d probably get nothing from the remaining 4 winnable games before we head into Feb/March and tackle teams in the top half of the table. I don’t know how a board of so-called football experts couldn’t see we have nobody capable of scoring a goal and couldn’t have an striker and attacking options completed before or within the first few days of the window when we needed them most. Even the most positive of supporter must see there is no escape from relegation if we end up losing this match, EVEN if we end up bringing in a striker to score us a few goals, our winnable games have been pissed away, just all too reactive when we should have been proactive in the summer or at latest EARLY January. We’ll have gifted all teams we are fighting around us 3pts from our games against us and that is criminal. 7 league losses or is it more potentially in a row, no team survives from that. Makes me sad and angry at the same time.

Man City done us all like a kipper 🤣 Maybe they wanted less games in the run-in while chasing Arsenal for the title, whilst we’re piling FA Cup and League Cup fixtures whilst being 20th with less depth, I love the win for much needed confidence, I just hope it’s no biting us in the ass long-term!
-
Always loved Nathan Jones 🤣👀 Sensible taking Lavia off for the weekend, can’t comprehend the confidence boost this sort of win will be with all (2 so far) our reinforcements still to be integrated into the squad, Livramento to come back too. Nathan, let’s get Orsic up to speed for Saturday, eh? 😉
-
Haha, still think it’s a wretched appointment in view of who else we could have had, but if we get a few more QUALITY and EXPERIENCED reinforcements in before the Everton game and he miraculously keeps us up, I will happily eat as much humble pie as I have to!
-
It is mighty frustrating that it gets us nothing on the points table, I just hope it lifts some much needed confidence around the club if we see it out, we need a win of some sort, shame it wasn’t Nottm Forest!
-
The Saints irony that we’ll end up picking up a win today when it’s worth nothing but a few quid and an extra, un-needed game whilst we’re in a massive fight for our EPL status 🥲
-
We all laughed at Nottm Forest, everyone laughed at Nottm Forest at the start of the season. They spent heavily, bought in guys with decent experience and kept faith in their manager. They’ve got fight, they’ve got cohesion, everything we haven’t, on the pitch and off the pitch, owners prepared to splash the cash on £35/£40m players to STAY in the EPL and they are well on their way to achieving their aim. I wish we were as ambitious to keep our EPL status.

At least Ralph had passion with the same group of guys. We’d have had far more points at this stage sticking with Ralph. I mean, whatever clown thought Nathan Jones was our best option v Ralph, is f*****g clueless - What an awful appointment, too late to rectify it now, we’ve fired through our winnable games and going to get zero from them and a pumping from Everton at Goodison on the horizon too, absolutely no way they’ll sack Nathan and admit their mistake but by god, they need to and open their cheque book before that Goodison game, both I expect we will not do as we are cheap. This was the game we had to win and we won’t be winning it on the 1st half performance. Safe to say we’ll be playing Championship football with the gap that’s growing between us and 17th now sitting at 4pts and if we don’t win tonight and pick up points vs. Everton we certainly won’t within our run of games against the Top 6 between March and April. Lose tonight = Relegated. Congratulations, SR, their £70m worth of “wonderkids” and Nathan Jones, might be able to sell them all on for half price when we go down.
-
Goodbye Premier League. Nathan Jones, you uninspiring, confidence-draining arsehole. Beggars belief what he tells the dressing room when he’s telling the press that we are a mess and he isn’t a miracle-worker. What a f****g appointment.
-
Love a good new manager bounce during a run of winnable games. Glad we appointed an experienced head and got everyone inspired and fighting for the badge 😒 We’ve really got no hope, the cherry on the top of this stale cake will be if we get anything less than 3 points from Nottm Forest.
-
Expect nothing more than Wolves to end up snatching this game and putting daylight between them and us 😒
-
That’s a team with potential to stay up - I’ll have that optimism batted out of me as soon as the 2pm line-up hits and it’s nowhere near the above and I’ll be resigned to a 3-0 walloping.
-
Oh, how I miss Fraser Forster. Why we let him go to sit on a bench elsewhere rather than be our number one, well, looks like it’s going to be a contributing factor in our demise and seemingly incoming relegation with this garbage between the sticks. One of our run of winnable games, at home, already looking like zero points.
-
This is Southampton. We all know that we need reinforcements in the attacking department desperately. I’m not holding my breath that we’ll have anyone through the door within the first couple of days like we SHOULD and NEED to have incoming, it’s suicide if it doesn’t happen. If we don’t act fast, we might not be cut adrift now, but we will be after our run of winnable games during this festive period and early January if we aren’t scoring goals.
-
I missed you Southampton. I didn’t miss this s***e, what they been doing over the break, oh, getting humped in behind-closed-door friendlies - turns out they were a realistic representation of our current level. Jones better be a miracle worker with plenty of Premiership experience and top-level contacts to get us some much needed decent Premier League experience to get us out of this mess we’re in.. Oh. 0-1 down already, that’s enough for me, jesus wept 🤣🤦🏼♂️
-
Deserved since they should have played Bella-Kotchap the beast! 😉 Hahaha!
-
The two teams above us being West Ham and Everton - they’re both (with the possible exception of Everton) are going to get more points than we are this season I’d reckon. The teams we need to be catching are Leeds, Fulham, Bournemouth, Brentford, Aston Villa and there is clear daylight between us and all them now, purely because most of them have taken 3 points from the bigger teams lately or they could still have been close. Just need Nottm Forest and Wolves to win their matches and it’d be the worst day for us imaginable.
-
Suppose you could say it is now, unless we’re going to score 3+ Bournemouth, Leeds & Leicester winning ffs, couldn’t be much worse for us right now all these results. I hope we can get a point, I’d take just a point, please!

It was an exciting seven minutes, that’ll be that then.
