  1. Which is fine.... However when their own "experiment" goes wrong it's wrong to place the blame fully at the feet of the fence rattlers... The police are just as culpable for not policing the situation adequately and so far they've escaped any punishment completely...
  2. Again, it makes no sense... "Portsmouth fans wandering back to their cars without the cover of Saints fans - they would have stuck out!" so the police were using the fans as some sort of human shield? As for not think rationally, there's not nothing rational at letting fierce local rivals out of a ground at the same time... There's nothing rational about that at all... And yes, for Saints Pompey derbies, coach travel only.....
  3. Am I alone in thinking letting two sets of fans, with a history of violence and resentment, out at the same time, in game where the home side has lost 4-1, is the most irresponsible thing you can think of?? Or am I mad?
  4. With chair being chucked and people getting caught in the middle of it, how on earth was anyone protected?? Seriously?? Can't see how the decision to let two sets of fans, who detest each other, out of the ground at the same time is a good one?
  5. Hold on,hold on, hold on... You're saying the fact that there was little trouble meant the police got it right? No... it says Saints fans got it right. We lost 4-1 at home and got a handful of fans nicked on trumped up charges... Now imagine the scenes at Fratton if they'd lost 4-1 at home? A few arrests? Not on your nelly.... And we'd have been held back for sure... I will never ever ever agree that allows Saints fans and Pompey fans to mingle after a game was the right move... never ever ever... It was foolish, naive and incompetent.... ... and just why is it being compared to an act of war? Irony?
  6. And there is absolutely nothing normal about a Saints Pompey derby game... I think you've just proved that the police were wrong in letting the fans out at the same time...
  7. And jailing people for rattling a fence isn't???
  8. If it's person A's responsibility to ensure person B doesn't behave like a numpty then the answer is most definitely yes... I really can't believe people are defending the police on this. You're dealing with a local derby with a history of violence and ill feeling. The home team loses 4-1 and you let the away fans out at the same time??? And you wonder why people get arsey? We all know violence at football games is blighting the sport but for ****s sake, the police are there for a reason. You can't let the two sets of fans out at the same time and then act all surprised when things get lairy...
  9. Hold on, so that more or less excuses the police from any responsibility in any form of social disobedience.... That's their job, whether the people they monitor are the Einsteins of this world or the John W******ds. You can't say the police weren't at fault for allowing fans to mix on the excuse that the people they are allowing to mix are numpties.... Jesus H....
  10. You could say the same about Fonte then...
  11. The thing is the system is so fu cked that some people actually are better off not working. I have an ex, she works part time and get income support of £90 a week and because she works part time she pays nothing in council rent. She'd be worse off working full time... For the life of me I can't see why I should be working full time, paying bills etc whilst some people milk the system and get everything given to them...
  12. Apparently a girl was beaten up on the top deck of bus. The assault was so brutal they had to remove her on a board through the back of the bus, possible spinal injuries.. No one was attacked in Kellys...
  13. Happy with Adkins... Was happy with Pardew... I for will always be grateful to Pardew for a great day out at Wembley and for restoring the pride in this club.... I won't be joining in the "Slag off Pardew for thing we don't know are true or not" brigade...
  14. And another thing, I wonder what Eddie Howe has to say about his teams penalty yesterday? The most ridiculous penalty I've seen in ages.... I'll hazard a guess and say he'll say feck all....
  15. And then they boast about taking 4000 to St Marys when their average attendance is woeful.... 6,823 against Exeter 6,103 against Carlise 5,501 against Dagenham They then take more than half their home attendance to St Marys and then have the nerve to say it was our cup final?? Pitiful... Please Bournemouth, take your begging bowl and the field of potatoes on your shoulders and feck off...
  16. Those retards do know that Tranmere took about 20 people with them? And as it's been pointed out already that after taking 500 fans to Brighton they really can't comment about attendances ever again... Shockingly pathetic...
  17. And so it came to pass that in the year of our lord 2010 on October the 2nd, the great south coast derby was decided. I was walking out of St Marys on Saturday and decided that Saints only have one real derby…. And it’s not with Bournemouth. Despite getting caught up with 50 Bournemouth hooligan wannabes on the way up to St Marys, not much could dampen my feeling that Saints need promotion and need it soon. Not for reasons of finance or status but just to get us away from those Portsmouth wannabes down Dorset way. For some Bournemouth fans the trip to St Marys was a sign, assign that the tide is turning and they are on their way to their rightful place as south coast top dogs. It’s quite obviously nonsense and judging by the gulf in class seen on Saturday, both on and off the pitch, it’s going to be a long time before they will be. All I saw on Saturday was a set of fans that obviously have issues. If there ever was a sign that a set of fans has issues then surely songs such as "Premier league you're having a laugh" (at a League 1 game) and “We’ve got more points than you (when in October) are a such a sign. They were probably the lamest football songs ever.... Saturday’s game told us despite the fact that we loathe and despise each other, there really is only one south coast derby and it sure as hell isn’t Bournemouth. It’s Portsmouth. Bell ringing, past dwelling, overspending, knuckle dragging Portsmouth. When you compare the sheer adrenaline rush of League One Saints scoring against Premier League Pompey to the mild joy at scoring against the big club near Boscombe then you realise there’s no substitute. From their rather ridiculous chairman to their rather obsessive fans, Bournemouth are really desperate for attention. It’s rather like that attention starved kid at family parties, desperately playing up, trying to get you to notice them. The sad truth is that I really don’t care about Bournemouth and I’d hazard a guess that the vast majority of Saints fans feel the same way. It’s purely one way traffic on the local rivalry stakes there.. If you ever needed a glaring example of this then look no further than the song they sang when they got promoted.. "Que sera sera, whatever will be will be; we're going to St Marys, que sera sera.” which must rank, with the other two songs I’ve mentioned, as some of the most embarrassing songs ever to come out of a football ground. Local issues aside the win was a much needed boost and an even more needed three points. It’s a sad reflection on our season so far that it took us until October to register a win at home. It’s rather typical of Saints that as a fan you worry that rather than be a springboard for the success it could well be back to square one come Saturday. On the positive side Saints looked far better than they have all season. From the back four to the middle four, the team looked composed and confident… a quality that has been lacking so far this season. There can be little doubt that the talent is there at St Marys but for some reason the team have appeared to be a lack confidence from the very start of this season. Whether this is down to the change of management is anyone’s guess but there was a world of difference between the side that finished last season and started this one. The hope is that despite the fact that none of Saturday’s goals came from open play, the win against Bournemouth is a springboard to something better. The players are there, the ability is there, it would appear that all that was missing was that enigmatic x factor that separates the champions from the also rans. Here’s hoping that the arrival of Nigel Adkins gets the players playing anywhere near where they did towards the tail end of last season. If he can, then what a season we can have…
  18. "We've got more points than you" What a great song that was.... Shame it's only 3 eh?
  19. Spot on Andy, how we can have threads like this in September is ridiculous. Today's win pulls us right up to 13th 2 points off the playoffs and 7 off the title... Everything to play for.. Admittedly Tranmere were shocking but Saints showed real professionalism and never, ever looked like conceding... I reckon on this form we'll be thereabouts come December.... coyr
  20. How we only won by two goals is beyond me... Played them off the park....
  21. Don't laugh I hear they're selling tickets for the 2011/2012 season already....
  22. Pmsl... Is that it? Your big moment? Thanks for posting yet another example of why you'll always be a small club with a chip on it's shoulder... Tell you what, let all pass around the begging bowl for Ossie so he can post more than three times a day?
  23. Massive home gate? Try four times your average this season? No wonder you need to pass the begging bowl round, you'll hardly pay for a round of drinks with your attendances.... AFC Bournemouth the only football club with the Big Issue as it's matchday programme... Bought your ticket for the return leg? I hear theyre selling fast... pmsl...
  24. Bought for ticket for March's Saints game yet? Top five Bournemouth threads.. 1) We wuz robbed 2) We took Brittania Road 3) We wuz robbed 4) We've got more points than you 5) Who's got their tickets for the biggest game at Bournemouth ever? Seriously, you're about as funny as piles but thank you for counting through the threads, you're not obsessed are you? And if you want to try and be provocative at least try and be entertaining or witty.. At the moment you're just a dull tw at with too many smilies..
