  1. Of course there could be serious mitigation. I'm not actually baying for her blood, and even if she was guilty of serious neglect, I'd be sad for her rather than angry. More sad for the baby, obv.
  2. I'm in agreement that things need substantiating first, but I can't imagine why anyone fit to look after a child would leave a baby - not a toddler, a baby - in the hot sun long enough for injuries of this kind to occur. I'm more commonly reputed to be a liberl lefty poofter woofter, but I genuinely can't see how this could happen without the woman being ignorant or impaired to the point where she is unfit to be the guardian pf the child at this point.
  3. Put your **** in it!
  4. It makes no difference if it is negligent. Neglect is itself a crime, and not a defence. The standard of parenting in this country is pathetic in far too many idiot people, and this woman - I genuinely can't think of any reason how this is simply unfortunate or anything other than ridiculous. Allowing a child to come to this much harm, negligenctly, is terrible. Not feeding your kids gets them taken away in time, and rightly so. Social services etc actually try very hard NOT to take kids away, and sometimes that ends in disaster [read Baby P (who was on the child protection register for 9 months before death), Victoria Climbie (same sort of story) Demi Mahon, David Stocker.. and more]. People moan about social services but they have a hard job to do, and guidance always says it's best to keep them with their family as far as possible - but there is a line. Of course, I'm all for supporting failing or ignorant parents, but a part of me really starts to think there should be parenting licenses or something. This woman should not have been allowed the priviledge and responsibility of a child if she was too naive, too ignorant, too selfish, whatever - to care for it properly. Simple as that. If this case is indicative, she should have her child put in temporary care until such a time as she is proven to be an adequate parent.
  5. Sorry, DD. I know it's what Stu really wants, I mean generally - his repressed sexuality makes him into an angry fellow - but I just don't swing that way.
  6. I was in Bournemouth last night / this morning. If only Stu had known, maybe it would have swayed him. We could have had a 'chat' on the beach.
  7. That's responsible of you.

    Spiders...

I had a mild hangover this morning upon waking in Bournemouth after a succesful night out, but one with a relatively low amount of alcohol in it. You really do need to keep up resistance levels!
  9. Quality game
  10. That's good news, surely? If that won't motivate a man to get back onto that pitch with enthusiasm, what the hell will?
  11. He might look at a child. So if anyone looks at a child, kill them. It's the only way to be sure. All paedos are masters of disguise. Won't someone think of the children?
  12. It's bull**** mass-hysteria witch-hunt ****.
  13. I don't think so. Single currency isn't the problem, in my opinion. It's been local regulatory failings and irresponsible bail-outs etc.
  14. What do you mean, "and?"? I thought it self-explanatory.
  15. Hey thanks, Dune. Next time I want to be a vigilante, I won't go out of my way to get news, because it is, irrelevently, here!
  16. I'd love to take your word on it, but I've met Lee_Saint, Rabbit, Foxy, Danny, a few others.. so you know. Hardly gents. And don't get me started on Magnet
  17. Touche. Rule 101 if mocking someone else for language use, eh? I was just trying to up the tension pre-match. And your players won't be able to kick me in the balls if I'm hunched up on the floor in a ball, weeping. HAH.
  18. Maybe the new in-house catering will raise prices by a factor of 27 to make up the shortfall...
  19. No, I was asking you. Good luck getting inspiring your 'players' and getting instructions across when you struggle with the language...
  20. World football has clearly demonstrated, in my view, that talent is talent.
