  1. Didn't do any damage last time, maybe we are run by swivel eyed UKIP loons... Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
  2. slowly warming to the Moyes idea, although he'd have to commit to playing our way.
  3. Window Cleaner is closest to the mark on this issue. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  4. If we get Yakin, that will be a coup d'état the CIA would be proud of: http://metro.co.uk/2013/12/17/tottenham-have-contacted-me-over-vacant-post-claims-basle-coach-murat-yakin-4234697/
  5. Spuds did try for Yakin before Sherwood was appointed. Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
  6. I'd sell at the prices you quote, just need to get them off the books.
  7. Looks like a real candidate. I'd be very happy if we get him on board.
  8. Kelvin Davis - £0 Paulo Gazzaniga - £1.5m Jos Hooiveld - £500k Dani Osvaldo - £7m Gaston Ramirez - £10m
  9. Sounds like he's another player whose level of expectation with regards to the board is waiting to be met. I get the feeling manager and players are tightening the screws on the board to make them commit to another project. If we consolidate then they'll all be off asap. 10. my Top 4, not in any order of preference. 1. Murat Yakin: Young, good track record. 2. Slaven Bilic: Charismatic leader, would do well in Prem. 3. Steve Clarke: WBA finished 8th last season, can do it with the right players. 4. Jorge Sampaoli: Good continuation of tactics and playing style.
  11. I hope he keeps the face fungus and all the lads call him "Conchita". Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
  12. if we could tempt him... Slaven Bilić

  16. my bets is we will sell Lallana and Shaw after the WC for a combined £50m, then bring in 2 players totalling £15m. £35m will go into repaying debts and what-not.
  17. If we sell either of Lallana or Shaw before the WC it sends big signals: 1. Southampton are small time. 2. Southampton have peaked. 3. Southampton have no more ambition. 4. Southampton are a feeder club. Sell after the WC then: 1. Southampton have 3 players in WC finals. 2. Grow the clubs reputation with viewers. 3. Grow the clubs reputation with young players. 4. Grow the "Southampton Way" brand. We can replace them, but we really need to do better in marketing ourselves and this is the biggest chance we are going to get on an international stage.
  18. All the best English players are in their respective first teams by the time they are 18.
  19. Greg Dyke on Talksport getting chewed on DriveTime. His argument for this idea was "look at the amount of English players in the top 4!" . FFS why should all of English football pay for the short sightedness of the top 4? The top 4 have the resources to implement academies equal or better than Southampton's, they just lack the will as it would be too difficult to maintain position. So we must all pay for their greed and cowardice.
  20. Pessimist in me says: Shaw - Chelsea - £30m (Clyne steps in) Lallana - Liverpool - £25m (Ramirez steps in) Schneiderlin - Arsenal - £15m (Cork steps in) MP off to Spain - former Bundesliga replacement Optimist in me says: MP stays and keeps the squad together Adds 2 players to the starting XI CB + CF
  21. But that is the exact problem, the proverbial fan doesn't smell good at all.
  22. mmm, £4k above average UK graduate starting salary, £32k below average Swiss graduate starting salary. I doubt they want an expert, more a "squad player"
