  1. Yeah, I think you're right. But it is closer to GB than Pitcairn.
  2. Just over 3/5ths of Pitcairn Island's entire population of 48 people. You could make a significant difference there. :
  3. Hmm, well yes, I see what you mean Robsk. But my intention was to highlight the remoteness of Pitcairn Island. There isn't anything else particularly close by. Which kind of attributed to starting that whole thing off.
  4. Before you flit off to the Virgin Islands: Cayman Islands - The government's primary source of income is indirect taxation - there is no income tax, capital gains tax or corporation tax.
  5. Had enough of living in the cold home country..? Don't want to move to another..? Have you considered moving to... Great British Territories..? Here's a list. If available, note the pictures when you look at them. Almost all of them have one thing in common. It's warmer there..! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anguilla http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bermuda http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Antarctic_Territory [very cold] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Indian_Ocean_Territory [back to warm] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Virgin_Islands http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cayman_Islands http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falkland_Islands [oops, chilly again] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibraltar [quickly back to nice temps] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montserrat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitcairn_Islands [for the committed escapee] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Helena http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ascension_Island http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tristan_da_Cunha http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Georgia_and_the_South_Sandwich_Islands [cold again] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovereign_Base_Areas_of_Akrotiri_and_Dhekelia [but not for long] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turks_and_Caicos_Islands Of course you could always shack up with Wilde in Jersey or Guernsey. Or go to the Isle Of Man. But with the above list on offer, who'd bother..? Now crank up the central heating.
  6. I was going to write that he'd served his own punishment, but all he has to do is possess a loaded firearm. The man has to serve his 3.5 years.
  7. Yeah, I'll settle for that. Give the rest of the royals a choice of which castle to hole up in, shut the door behind them, and let them fend for themselves. Just like the rest of us have to.
  8. Yes, I do. He's a bit like his half brother, only with a bit more application and grey matter upstairs. But in terms of technical ability, there's not a lot between them. If you're reading this Bradley, you now know what to do..!
  9. Micah Richards and Shaun Wright-Phillips aren't world class. If this consortium has as much money to spend as they say they have, then players like those two won't be around for too long. They'll give way to better, truly world class stars, just as soon as the consortium get around to buying them. I wouldn't hold out too much hope for Sparky being around at the end either.
  10. US cars firms have been seriously inept and lazy over the years. They bank on a loyal US buying public and provide them in return with poor build quality, uneconomical, relatively unreliable, poor handling and performance vehicles, when compared to those designed and built overseas.
  11. Want a poll..?
  12. Just STOP it, right..? And it's Mel Blyth. Jim Blyth... humph.
  13. So he was fundamentally unstable. A bit like a Typhoon Eurofighter.
  14. Indeed. It has always been my thought that someone should have stood up, before the unveiling, and shouted STOP..! Perhaps they thought they were too insignificant to halt the train of events. I still find it hard to believe that nobody, from the Saints Trust, who might have had even the slightest artistic merit about them, couldn't see that there was something amiss. Although, I understand, that they never saw the whole statue put together. And apparently, even the sculptor himself didn't see the complete statue until very close to the unveiling. But surely an odd face, very odd angled football-holding hand, very short legs and small feet, were enough giveaways, even in isolation..?
  15. What..? Without provocation, pushing, fouling, etc..? Certainly scored lots of goals. The record is there for all to see.
  16. It's a Wonderful Life Scrooge [Alistair Sim], incorrectly known as A Christmas Carol and of course, The Great Escape.
  17. Indeed.
  18. They can have Saints for half that..!
  19. Get rid..! Bring in President St Landrew please. Ta.
  20. BTW, although I never saw Bill Ellerington play, I did see Paine, Channon and Davies. In fact, Ron Davies' competitive Saints debut coincided with my first Saints match. So don't worry, they'll get their nominations from someone, when their time comes. Anybody think Martin Chivers over Ron Davies..? Probably not.
  21. Abdicate..!
  22. And in the fast-flying world of our Olympic Champion Cyclists, who was the only biker to let things slip a tiny bit..? Yes, Bradley Wiggins. With his partner Mark Cavendish, he came 9th in their event, and Wiggins was clearly the weaker partner. Of course, by then, he'd got his 2 gold medals in his other events. Mark Cavendish came away from the Velodrome with not a single medal. The only Team GB rider to do so. He was p!ssed off, and rightly so, as the pair were the favourites [of course] and Wiggins wasn't even sorry. I think Rebecca Romero is a worthy candidate [although only as much as Victoria Pendleton], as she is a Champion in 2 totally unrelated sports. And she's thinking of changing to another for the next Olympics. Some things are obviously just not hard enough for some people. The rest are worthy, with one exception. What on earth has Harry Redknapp done that is extra, extra special..? Manager of a FA Cup winning team..? Like him or loathe him - sorry, but in my book that isn't enough. His inclusion devalues the others' achievements. Manage a World Cup winning team, and you're there on merit. Or manage a much lower or non-league team to a major all-league participating Cup, and maybe so.
  23. On this particular PC I'm using, it has a tendency to freeze every time Nero 8 is started up. I would look into the problem, but I think it's actually behaving intelligently. By the way, if you're going to chuck it, I know of charities that will gratefully accept the hardware [and NO, I don't mean ME].
  24. Cough..! It's been drastically reduced.
  25. I respect that opinion, and to a certain extent, support it. For example, Derek Reeves, a Saints striker I never saw play, must have been one effective individual, even if his best work was in the lower leagues. But finishing is finishing, and he was undoubtedly great at it. But Saints fans do tend to go with who they have watched, rather than take anyone's word for it. And as to Man U fans not nominating Charlton or Best - how long ago do you think they played..? I saw them play at The Dell on several occasions, with both at their peak, so I can imagine there are plenty of Man U fans still extant who have seen them. Whether they'd do well in a poll-vote up against modern rivals including Rooney and Ronaldo is undecided. One thing is certain though. I'd be qualified to give an opinion.
