  1. I'm watching Big Trouble In Little China anyway.
  2. Late Kick Off Monday 10 May 11:20pm - 11:50pm BBC1 South Just in case you're just about to miss it. Wonder what Murty will have to say..? For those out of the BBC South, South West and West regions, it'll be on the iPlayer later on. Much later on, so wait until tomorrow, unless you want to wait until about 3am. Ask Chrisobee, who waited up last time.
  3. powdered desert [dessert]
  4. Nice call hamster. F**k me, Billy didn't mince words did he..? So refreshing to hear that nowadays, when attitudes have hardly progressed a single iota. I have a Billy Bragg album around somewhere. I'll dig it out, or go Youtubing. EDIT: Off my album - It Says Here
  5. Afternoon Delight
  6. I haven't been looking through these Election 2010 threads, or commenting too much, but I've scanned through this one. The so-called horse trading, that is appraently going on at this moment, has little to do with Proprotional Representation. The so-called Hung Parliament is giving a direction post only, perhaps towards PR, in terms of public opinion. What is undoubtedly true is that countless First-Past-The Post elections disinfranchise almost two-thirds of the population, and so, in truth, that system almost always leads to minority opinion government, whatever the number of seats won. I wish to be represented by my local MP. The one I now have, just elected in my constituency, does not represent my views or my needs. This is reflective throughout the country, whatever party you may support. Any acceptable form of PR will improve on that.
  7. [viz] videlicet
  8. Oh yeah, that was his parting shot.
  9. Have to go along with Jennie Bond. It's obvious that she is an attractive women in some way, but I cant fathom why. I think I remember finding Maggie Thatcher oddly attractive at some point too. Kate Bush was the obvious one, but I think I shared that with millions of blokes. Very oddly, as a junior schoolkid, around about 10 years of age, I know two of my school teachers had little crushes on me. Miss Jones and Miss Squires, looking back, those games of Postman's Knock were such fun..!
  10. I'm with you on this one, Ron. High cocoa content chocolate is the only way, at east 75% or better, although I suspect it is probably more popular with the older contingent of the population. In my younger days, a bar of Ol' Jamaica was fun. I especially liked the rolling-eyed pirate character in the advert, who used to wax lyrical that it was laced with Jamaica Rum... but then would reluctantly let the word flavour escape his mouth. Can't have any alcohol in a potential kiddies purchase, after all. Flakes were fun too, but best stuck in a 99 ice cream cornet, when they were great.
  11. Oh..! Well, I've been busy.
  12. Apologies if posted before, but it appears we may be in talks with Inigo Calderon, the Brighton RB. Well, at least according to Gus Poyet, anyway. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/brighton/8670337.stm
  13. Watch this video with Jonathan Pearce: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8664301.stm Now, put me out of my misery, please... What is the excellent lead-in music..? It's just a few bars of bass guitar and fills from other instruments, but it sounds like the music that it introduces would be of real rock and rhythm.
  14. Human League
  15. canterbury
  16. Pain[e], as in Terry.
  17. I can't recommend a program bpsaint, but I'm sure there are some DVD to DiVX/AVI converting bits of software out there. I can't remember them as I haven't had a use for them lately. I'm sure some non-skate will pop their head up, above the wire soon though.
  18. The Pretenders - Pretenders II I remember buying this album on a bit of a whim, back then. I've hardly played it more than half a dozen times in nearly 30 years. It still stands up. Birds of Paradise is superb.
  19. You're right. I was 21, and anyway I didn't like their style of music. It took me a long time to get into any form of reggae, and when I did, it was a grudging acceptance, which is stupid, as there is some great stuff from that genre. I thought I had my finger on some sort of musical pulse, at the time, and in fact I hadn't a clue. The truth is, you like what you like, and as long as the music has merit, and is genuine, it's as good as anything else.
  20. Sorry Chris, got carried away. There's a road/place in Manuwatu, NZ called Foxton Straight. It is also a reference to a pair of drainpipe jeans worn by celebrated NZ performance poet Sam Hunt [never thought I'd type his name out on a Saints forum]. And for rip-off -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ouch..!
  21. Well there you go mate. Analogue vinyl will last far longer than digital CD. If you ever want some help getting something together, I'm always available for a bit of advice. I'd enjoy converting to you back.
