Seen a fair bit of Raynes playing for County at this level he is a quality CB, & has also filled in for County all across the back four & has also filled in in midfield when its been required. He is a good pro & a good leader on the pitch(is team captain & club captain), would be a good acquisition. As for Pilikington as said don't know much about him but he's scored a few in pre-season & if he's half as good as his brother was for county then he may well turn out to be a good signing too.

Oh what a difference 3-weeks make. All those fishy friends coming on here gloating, now me thinks the worm has turned. And no sign of those trolls on here now. I think that this will not only be a good signing but also a good statement of intent just what we need. Hopefully there is nothing doubtful on his medical.

So far ML & his team have been doing things the right way & I've been more than impressed by just about all they've done. I'm as desperate as the next supporter for us to start well, but we will just have to have a little patience in the building of our team for the future, not a team for next week. It will take a little longer than 2-weeks to address years of mismanagement. So take a deep breath & then blow out & relax. If by the end of August we are still waiting for signings the feel free to Panic

We are notoriously slow starters and the team unless we get some new players in this week is not up to it. So whilst I hope for the best I think a draw is the best we will achieve 2-2.

Good start no leaks about take over no leaks about new boss. No rhetoric just says what they will do & quietly goes about his buisness until the deal is done then we all hear about it. More than happy so far Keep it up ML.

I think its all about putting the pieces in place for next year to be honest. With the time period he has between now & the start of the season, its difficult to expect to much at the start. If we get off to a flyer who knows but I'd expect a bit of a learning curve with maybe a late run for the play-offs being optimistic. I'd be happy with upper mid table right now, anythig else is a bonus

A little underwhelmed when I heard the news on sky but a little rational thinking, and this is as good as we could probably expect. As several have said we are are 3rd tier club on -10 points, and he has a reasonable record so overall this is looking like a decent appointment. I guess it now all depends on what budget he has to work with & getting a team ready for league 1. His contacts should allow him a decent chance of putting a strong team together. As Fan the Flames said it reminds me of WGS appointment lets hope it's the start of the good times returning Alan Pardews red & white army.

First glance it looks dreadful, but on closer inspection & a second glance have to say my initial impression was completely correct it looks f**King awful IMHO. I like the embossed design around the badge, would have been much better as an all Yellow Shirt. And the blue is far to dark Just slightly better than Newcastle's new away kit.

Well their certainly not messing about are they, just seen it on Sky sports news, interesting times indeed. Would have been prepared to give him a chance but they probably feel its best we have a clean sweep.
