Yeah I’m not saying it was a good idea, but the club probably saw the chance to sign a top championship player for half his previous value and took the gamble. it was more because his contract was soon to expire and he wasn’t signing that allowed us to get him for this price .which is why I say we got him for cheap . It obviously has worked out terribly but the club saw value

Put it this way Stewart’s last season at Sunderland in the championship he had nearly a goal a game and was Sunderland’s star man and regarded one of the best strikers in the championship .. you don’t get that for 8 million without the contract situation or the injury . Look what we paid for the likes of adams and Armstrong ! At one point you would have been looking at 20 million so I disagree he was on the cheap .. 8 million does not land you a top championship striker

Feel proper sorry for Ross just seems to be one thing after the other, he looked gutted when he went off. Sunderland fans thought he was prem quality and we did get him on the cheap so you can see why we took the gamble at this stage it’s just a bonus if we get him fit again though

Well Paul got pretty much no game time to score in England .. Alcaraz lost in the championship in exaggerating too Martin just preferred stuey, Alcaraz was actually premier league proven and a exciting young talent .. as for ABK not wanting to be here last year we was in the championship . Maybe he didn’t wanna be here then fair enough

Actually angers me that we could have lost Alcaraz ABK and talll paul if Martin had his way proper centre forward performance by onuachu today and he has a bit of skill along with the physique .. really should be starting now his knock downs and lay offs are very effective

Is it just me ? But onuachu looks exactly what we have been missing? Ball kinda sticks with him .. and shown a nice few touches .. makes you wonder why he’s been out of the picture so much

Don’t see the hype in potter either ., Swansea was no better then Rm..did well at Brighton but so has everyone and Chelsea he had their lowest points total .. My first choice would be throw everything at getting Brendan .. absolutely quality manager who’s done great pretty much everywhere much more proven then hipster crap like potter and yes he probably would leave Celtic for us If we threw enough money at him same like the Celtic players leave for the premiership .. after him moyes also super proven these two are exactly the types we should be looking at

Problem is with this silly multi club set up us doing poorly isn’t the end of the world for SR, we are not the be all and end all and dragan has obviously bought into this .. as for Martin no way is this gonna work, I think he slightly underachieved last season on league form considering it was mainly a premiership squad with a few premiership loans like Fraser downes thb brookes etc we looked shaky last year pretty often and now we are no longer superior to the opposition Martin has no answer .. probably thinks he’s gonna do a kompany playing his ineffective passing game needs to go asap

Totally this .. I don’t have any faith in him turning it around to be honest .: he’s totally married to this philosophy. Being poor at both ends is a big issue I’d personally rather we got someone like Rodger’s or moyes .. last thing we need is another out of his depth championship manager

I mean at one point we where signing Italian internationals like Osvaldo gabbiadini and pelle . How well they worked out is one thing but it looked a hell of a lot more ambitious then the championship kinda strikers we go for now

The problem is most of our signings are gambles bar the likes of Ramsdale.. I’d rather we went for it on someone who actually looks quality rather then keep taking punts .. how many strikers have not worked out now ? Better to go all out for one that can cut it rather then five that don’t

Looks better up top to me simply because this team is filled with creative players. With both Fernandes and lallana in mf and dibling and Fraser wide at least you can see where the creativity is coming from. Unlike our earlier selections with bbd outside and barely any creativity whatsoever

Still think it’s super naive of us to give him prem games without tying him down longer . we where in a power position hey Tyler if you wanna start sign the contract , that would kinda force his hand .. but now the car is out the bag and Im not so sure we get him signed to a new deal

After being our most important player last year with 37 or whatever goal contributions I’m willing to give him a clean slate in the prem . At least with him his success has come under the manager.. differant styles of football can make a big differance, which could be why your boy BBD isn’t doing what he did at Sheffield utd ..

We really need to get him signed to a nice long contract I’d be tempted to tell him sign the contract if you wanna start.. otherwise we will simply be putting him in the shop window with 1-2 years left on his deal after this season and that weakens our hand

Shocking your willing to give up on him already 3 games into the season if you want to moan about someone why not BBD? who has been way worse at least AA has got into positions to threaten. Our fanbase is so fickle if he scored his Miskick which he usually would have then everyone’s happy

One of the biggest ones for me was jordi clasie (the Dutch xavi) after having watched him for Netherlands knowing he was such a lynchpin if koemans feyenoored side and all our other imports looking good this looked amazing signing on me paper

Jury is still very much out on Martin for me,, we was pretty crap and inconsistent last year after the unbeaten run, don’t think many people where that happy with him but he redeeened himself and bought himself a fair chance with everyone by winning the playoffs. Start of this season he’s been poor .. poor formation and selections pretty much every game.. I think he’s playing this 3 at the back as it’s probably the easiest way for us to have a load of meaningless possession stats .. but by doing that the attack isn’t working at all if he doesn’t pick up points soon can really see the pressure cranking up . How many games with no points or wins will people give him ?

But this isn’t the system he thrived in last year ? He done well playing in a 433 as a wing forward now he’s being asked to play in a 2 up top with Diaz going out to the wing and leaving him isolated

Already seeing a lot of harsh comments regarding AA.. think we need to give him time. With the current tactics russ has been using it’s not surprising he’s not doing well, the width of the front 3 has been sacrificed you have BBD playing more like a wideman with no skill or pace and the midfield 3 have been the most static 3 you could select, so very little support for him. im confident he will do well if we revert to the 433 from last year

Whilst it’s a chance of recouping the money on sulemana I do like him and think he could have still came good . With how things are going under Martin atm losing players like Alcaraz and sulemana leaves a funny taste with me .. under a different manager and play style which could happen soon both could have potentially thrived . At least Fernandes is looking great to compensate for Alcaraz leaving though .

All the hype going to dibling right now but arguably Fernandes even better .. seems to have it all great carrying the ball, uses it cleverly pops up everywhere .. looks a fantastic signing
