Tricky call I think,he’s a strange player is our Azaz some of his vision and passing is actually top draw, take that curling long pass he played last match for fellows to run onto, that was so good Glenn hoddle would of been proud of it ..yet other elements of his game are more championship level he probably doesn’t have the touch and trickery to be a world beater but his vision and ability to unlock a defence would still be there in the premiership

The comments are more harsh as we have let Arma go.if larin came in as a loan to replace downs that’s fine . We have only been playing this formation for 3 games even though most fans wanted it. Plus it absolutely does not have to be a big striker up front for it to work Azaz game is built on playing through balls into pacy players to run onto which is exactly what Arma does, also he gives a alternative option to fellows if you want a more direct goal threat from wide right . What makes this even more shocking it’s now down to 7-9 million for Arma this is actually disgusting for a player that’s contributed so many goals and assists for us in the championship it’s not wolves that are being stupid here they are gonna have a 20 goal plus championship striker for next season as for Larin he looks absolutely shit even Canada fans think he’s washed and he wasn’t good in the first place . This is probably one of the most angry I’ve felt about our transfer business in a long time absolutely pointless to take 7 million for Arma and replace him with shit

To the people saying how it’s so hard to sign a decent striker in January. Why don’t we play by these rules then and not sell our proven 20 goal a season striker ffs ? even if AA isn’t that happy here, fuck that we are half way through the season make him wait until the summer, I also think the people who are starting to rate Stewart higher then AA are losing the plot- based on what? he’s barely scored about 5 his whole time with us we haven’t even seen enough of him to know how good he is yet ? Not to mention he could break down at any time if Armstrong and archer really do leave I’d also rather we sign a pacy striker then a big cf as we need someone to replace those two now with azaz as playmaker having pacy players gives him more chance to break the lines.. it’s really Annoying that just as we have seemingly sorted out our defensive problems, got rid of bazunu and replaced well everything was looking good and even I was feeling positive .. now we have to go and completely fucking wreck the forward line when there is absolutely no need to do this

Agreed can’t really think of the last time we had a player like him that can constantly put people in on goal with through balls like he does. When you look at the two chances vs Pompey he is so fast thinking to recieve the ball and instantly knows to play the pass. Amazing awareness and vision

As much as he can go missing at times and be very hit and miss some of azaz passes and through balls are just absolute masterclass and reminds you of those old school number tens like Riquelme, that curled pass he did to fellows to run on to was fantastic as was the two through balls vs Pompey . I think with azaz you just have to judge him purely on the chances he creates not his work rate or what he doesn’t do .. if he’s creating a couple of clear goal scoring oppurtuinitirs a match he’s doing his job

I was thinking the squad we have (before we make it any worse in the last few days if window ) is actually much better then our promotion season in my opinion ok we had kwp Adam’s and brooks but Adam’s wasn’t as good as AA anyway we had a midfield trio of downes aribo and smallbone . now we have a much better keeper in peretz Charles and jander are better then the midfielders we had that year azaz fellows and scienza obviously better too . Really do think it’s a better squad and we could really make a late push for the playoffs the teams above us are nothing special absolutely crucial we don’t make a mess of the striker situation.we started the season with AA downs Stewart and archer without knowing who’s coming in this could be down to just a made of glass Stewart soon. If we sell both AA and archer one replacement is not enough

A lot more to do with replacing bazunu with a decent keeper finally and playing a back 4. With manning also getting dropped we now looking a lot more solid . But just as things are starting to come together we will probably go and sell AA which is utterly stupid we cannot be relying on Stewart with his injury history

I get you but downes is probably the best defensive mid we have and Charles very good carrying the ball and probably our best midfielder by a mile when fit ..who would you leave out ?

Possibly our best eleven ? Peretz bree. Thb. Stephens. Wellin Downes. Charles Azaz Armstrong. Stewart. Scienza little bit harsh to leave out fellows but as said in the transfer thread arma can give you goals and assists from wide whilst fellows doesn’t score .. you could put in fellows still but feels like we actually getting close to full strength now in a formation that suits

Totally agree with this actually I think AA is better wide right then he is through the middle .. he was awesome and had close to 40 goal contributions in the promotion season fellows is a good dribbler but doesn’t seem to have goals in him a forward line of scienza. Big cf signing. AA would look superb

I guess you could argue his stats could be down due the dysfunctional football we where playing under still at the start of the season, since tonda has been here he’s on about 7 goals in 16 games so just under a goal every other game . it’s all good listing a few high scoring championship strikers but with sports republics record of recruitment you gotta say it’s a lot more likely replacing Armstrong would weaken us then strengthen us, seems more a case of worrying about player trading values then actually worrying about the results on the pitch as usual

But as a team trying to get promoted back to the premier league he is a hugely important player for us, our last full season in the championship he had around 40 goal contributions and also scored in the play off final we also spent 15 m ourselves on azaz Whilst he plays some great through balls I’d argue Armstrong is a better player at this level and also his pace and runs gets the best out of azaz. think people are drinking the fickle juice for wanting AA sold when you think of the strikers we have signed under sports republic mara (for the premier league) archer (premier league ). onuachu (premier league Stewart BBD ( premier league ). damion downs Is it really a good idea to sell a proven 20 goal a season striker to championship rivals trusting the guys who made these signings to get a better striker then Adam Armstrong ? What could possibly go wrong ?

Doubt they would drop the 15m all on a striker anyway it would just weaken us and be a total gamble as to whether they replaced him properly .. we already sold onuachu and replaced hm with Damion downs and he would have been the perfect big man everyone wants us to sign at this level.Paul is way better then Stewart and we could have really done with him in the championship

Is 15m really that much money for a 20 goal a season championship striker ? AA is pretty much guaranteed goals at this level and is versatile enough to play wide too and still score 20 a season from there .. it’s a new level of stupid if we let him go and would be writing off the season for a poxy 15 million

I think archer is actually a lot better then what we have seen of him. His finishing and technique is better then AA. His spell at boro showed he can be prolific at championship level but with us he just gets the odd start here n there or his minutes are coming from the bench . If he was at a club that’s starting him every week he will score goals

With all the doom and gloom of late 4 points from those two games is a start, charles is a big player for us .. providing tonda doesn’t mess around with the back four I think the team will start to look good

Bree and wellington look really solid and big upgrades at fullback. with Charles coming back into the reckoning and azaz and fellows now being freed up I to play their proper positions I think we could see another run of good form

Referee was definitely letting a lot go and it was turning into a pretty vicious match with rash tackles flying in everywhere at 1-0 up I guess you just want to see it out and not end up with players out injured. Not a tonda fan at all but don’t think he did much wrong today tbh without the freak equaliser there wasn’t much to moan about

That means nothing really though as the majority of the other managers where managing in the premier league which obviously would bring the win percent right down

Think there was pretty much zero chance they was ever gonna exercise the option to buy . 8 million for a keeper would be super expensive for stoke and when you factor in how shit bazunu is it’s not like he was ever gonna be worth that .. we should have just lowered the price and got him gone or with obligation to buy at a lower price

Thought we look a lot more secure with him in goal. Very important upgrade might actually stop leaking goals at every chance for the opposition now

Na they are probably just waiting around until other deals get done so others materialise . We are never quick in transfer windows we always wait right until the end trying to look for value
