Both played under hasenhuttl too I’m not trying to make out either are brilliant but they certainly fared better then this season .. for me we just seem to chose managers that can’t grind out a result .. Martin encouraged us to play suicidal passing around the back line and juric is totally giving up the midfield .. you don’t need superstars to have a well drilled defence
-
I’m still not buying that our squad is just terrible .. didn’t Claude puel get a ton of clean sheets with stephens and bednarek? Both have played in enough premier league seasons and never been this bad before, same goes for kwp.. central midfield you can certainly argue is one of our biggest issues but playing only two in there isn’t helping personally think fernandes is better as a midfielder dibling and sully are workable as wide fws. Cf isn’t great but onuachu can score goals if given the right service .. point here is that our defenders have performed way better then they are this season . There still seems to be something seriously up with the way we are setting up to ship so many goals, managers job should be at least make us hard to break down ., look at Burnley Saturday they were super well drilled, it wasn’t a team of superstars but they knew how to defend .. why can’t our managers seem to be able to grind results out ?

Haha looks just like him doesn’t he ? Great movie btw
-
Looks like he’s about to go stealing drugs with Tony tucker 😆
-
Well the difference is dibling is talked about Like the next big thing, too good for us, top 6 player, next grealish nobody is making aribo out to be world class . It’s not about turning on dibling just pointing out he hasn’t really made much impact despite starting nearly every game. players like rod Wallace mlt Walcott came straight in and made things happen with dibling hes not really affecting matches
-
Being honest now I think he’s way overhyped compared to what he’s actually done for us this season .: he’s a good dribbler but so was others like boufal even sully and got nowhere near this hype. Bar a couple of tap ins he hasn’t really done much of note . Good dribbler but not a lot else atm if he wasn’t a young English academy kid I could see people moaning about no end product not trying to be harsh on him but I don’t feel much affinity to him anyway as he’s not gonna be here long so he gets treated like anyone else
-
I still think it’s a case of we just are not ambitious enough most of the summer signings where championship like players we hoped would come good the only ambitious signing was ramsdale who let’s face it only came here as he didn’t get other offers . We don’t really fight with other clubs for players we want we usually just give up and the other club will offer better terms.. so we are left with the scraps other clubs don’t want .. we are basically turning into a Sheffield utd bottom of the league in ambition terms and that needs to change with less mediocre signings and more quality
-
But do you think it’s a bad thing that we have abandoned the possession style of Martin.. let’s say Wilcox stayed would you have wanted a continuation in that failed approach ? As you pointed out we have had guys like shields and Wilcox poached very fast which hasn’t helped at all .. I still think that the way do try and do things on the cheap is probably coming from above the director of football.
-
Yeah but assuming dibling leaves we could field sulemana and Aa as the wide players onuachu as the cf which is absolutely awesome for the championship .. with then having depth of bbd archer and edozie as options .. no need to mess with this really and we should be keeping this intact especially as players like sully could still attract offers in the summer
-
Don’t get this at all when we loan players out there seems a fair chance they don’t come back. Considering we will be in the championship next season keeping him seems a no brainer. Dibling likely off sulemana could depend if someone comes in for him in the summer it just seems a weird gamble to make players who could be a big part of next season feel unwanted . we don’t need many changes for next season at all but knowing us we will even Fuck that up
-
I do agree with this whilst I guess you can see it as wise and realistic that the club are not throwing around stupid money trying to save the dead season, I find it pretty shocking that the club practically threw the towel in as early as December really by persisting with Martin and to follow that up haven’t even tried to rectify the damage .. it’s absolutely pathetic really and gives juric no help whatsoever .. they’ve just pretty much sat back and done fuck all
-
Sully has been more exciting then dibling since juric has come in . Hope people are starting to realise that he isn’t crap now just was wasn’t getting any love under Martin we would absolute mugs to let him go for a pittance at the end of the season , I’m hoping juric will have a say in him staying
-
It’s more then just inept recruitment though, sports republic pretty much forfeited our place in the premiership by persevering with the lost cause Martin then afterwards didn’t even attempt to turn it around in January window (I’m not saying that was a great idea ) but all in all they basically relegated us in December with these decisions
-
What’s the contract situations like with sulemana and onuachu ? Would be good to keep both as they are clearly better then our other options, they don’t have the previous championship stats like AA and Bbd but clearly better players at a higher level .. personally I hope we keep most of the squad together bar the obvious ones that will go.. don’t need a lot of changes for next season it’s the season after where we need a overhaul
-
Regarding flip flopping over philosophies. I’m not sure you can call it a bad thing we tried something it didn’t work so are now trying s different approach, that’s fair enough for me. Where we do need to start learning is it’s not 2013 anymore and if we want to compete in the premier league we should be competing with the likes of Bournemouth dropping 40 m on a player if need be
-
I think we will cook in the championship next season tbh .. if say the only losses are the likes of ramsdale/ dibling fernandes kwp etc we would still be left an elite squad for the championship., the fact that bbd and AA are 20 goal strikers in this league tells you how big the difference is .. and onuachu and archer are better if we was to pretty much keep this squad together bar the ones mentioned above .. add to that juric seems better attacking wise then Martin I can see us cooking
-
Not sure why you think that .. there’s times he keeps managing to keep the ball even though it looks like he’s gonna lose it he did this again yesterday .. got pretty much no service yesterday so I’m not really sure what your rating him badly for .. he worked hard too
-
Your consoling yourself with transfer fees/and making profit again With us it hardly even matters what price we get as even if we sold dibling for 200 mil we would just go back shopping in the 10-20 range with the money, as dusic pointed out at least when Bournemouth sold solanke they went and invested in a 40m striker . I wouldn’t mind so much if when we sold our best players it was with a plan to strengthen us on the pitch but it isn’t .. we simply go straight back to bargain buying in the 10-20 range again rinse and repeat . if you really don’t agree that we are the most unambitious club in the league ask yourself this ? If us and another prem league club both go for a player at the start of the window name one club that would lose out to us ?
-
In reply to 4 and 5 I generally believe we are The most unambitious club in the league the players you call expensive flops are not expensive in comparison to the rest of the league which is what matters .. also we are absolutely soft as shit when it comes to selling players it’s like we accept our role as a stepping stone club .. whee you look the likes of West Ham’s or even forest and Bournemouths transfer dealings you can see why they are now looking at us in their rear view We have basically pretty much stood still in terms of how much we spend on a big signing whilst the likes of the three mentioned above would happily double what we pay or more .. the lack of ambition reflects our position I’m afraid
-
Thought it was pretty obvious we are a shit depressing club that’s only interest is turning profit on players, not what’s happening on the pitch.. celebrating a poxy 5 mil on meghona is Mickey Mouse as Fuck with everything else going on .. call me old fashioned but I take more pleasure from what the player does on the pitch then if we turned a profit or not Our whole recruitment approach is destined to fail as we prioritise trying to to make a few mill on cheapo players rather then to be competitive on the pitch .. even the decent signings we make will soon go and we get left with mediocre squad filler shit and the only thing to cheer about is how much we get for dibling/fernandes or whoever.
-
Man what a shit depressing club this is when getting 5 million for meghoma is considered a success.. never mind we have been a embarrassment all season we can turn some profit on dibling and fernandes happy days
-
Yeah to be fair downes was out which left him only les and atibo.. but I guess we could have put fernandes in there? And with downes back we still had the two man midfield we do look a lot better now in attack and not as slow and ponderous .. but we still are super easy to score against so I think the tactics are still wrong and we could do with maybe a three man midfield covering that can make us less easy to cut through . a lot of us wanted a more pragmatic manager like moyes but I don’t think juric has really been that.. he’s improved the attack but we are still a shambles at the back
-
I kinda like juric seems a decent guy and I do think he’s improved us attacking wise and it’s nice he’s recognised the potential in Paul and sully . However I think the concern is he’s not really making us any more hard to beat then under russ really.. the two man midfield I’m not sure is a good idea as our central midfield is probably our weakest area player wise We have very little in the way of solid defensive midfielders . not knocking him and happy for him to continue at the moment just find it a bit concerning when we are putting out rwo man midfields with two of aribo downes and les being the personnel
-
Same like archer I think he’s a lot better then we have really seen but we are not playing to his strengths ..he seems a good finisher and pacy but tends to go missing in games as the ball doesn’t stick up top with him ,, think if you had him paired with Paul who he could play off he would be a lot better .. atm onuachu gives the most to our side as a striker as he’s the one that can hold the ball up and bring others into play he doesn’t go missing
-
Don’t think russball helped. the formation kind of had him out too wide and isolated the striker , also he’s not technically great so the passing style didn’t really suit .. again though he didn’t really have that many opportunities before getting dropped . Not gonna argue against that though he was poor tbh we should have a really strong championship side next season without even having to make many signings .. the likes of him and AA even are 20 a season strikers although I’d rather keep the likes of kamsldeen onuachu and archer
