Wow wow wow please please please let this be true Juan Roman riquelme is my favourite non saints player by a mile he can totally dictate a game with his passing and he's totally comfortable on the ball . Also has one of the best free kicks in the game he's ithe same type of quality as pirlo and xavi with his passing and ball retention . I would totally cream my pants if this happens lol

i feel for adkins as much as the next man, but i dont agree with the cortese bashing on here today has cortese ever let us down? no he hasnt both pardew and adkins did very well here but having nc as chairman made there jobs easier. maybe pocchetino is the way to push on to the next level ? cortese has a vision and he will do whatever it takes to get us there

You would think so but a lot of the players we signed in the summer have had to bide there time like Davies and jay rod, Fonte and yoshida was starting to develop a decent partnership before fontes injury but now there is a chance for forren to come straight in and show what he can do if he signs, I still hope we pull off astori though he sounded the real deal forren doesn't fill me with half as much confidence as he would

So do we really think forren will be an improvement over yoshi and fonte ..? Or is he more being brought in to just give us more strength in depth like being a better replacement than hooiveld seabourne etc ..?

I'd prefer astori out of the 2 to be honest, I haven't really seen much of either, But the fact that astori has managed international caps for a good team like Italy suggests he's good pushing players like chiiellini, barzagli and bonucci he's got to have something about him

I've voted boruc for man of the match that was probably the best goalkeeping performance we have had this season , now Nigel no more rotation with the keepers please . Onto jay rod who I've given a lot of stick to this season, it was probably his best performance in a saints shirt so far . Excellent energy and running It's just the end product that was lacking he'd make a great run through on goal then lose control at the pivotal moment , or his final ball would let him down, much better performance though 10 out of 10 for effort

I actually agree with stu at times Ramirez looks like he could be one of the best players in the league and world class he can be a bit inconsistent at the moment but there's always little flashes of awesomeness I think we have a star on our hands we just need to play him in his best position and get the best out of him , even though I much prefer Lambert to jay rod it would be interesting to see Ramirez behind Rodriguez, Gaston can play some nice through balls but with Richie up front he doesn't have the pace to reach them

agreed its mayuka and tadanari lee that should be frustrated. Ask yourself this do you think either mayuka or lee would have done much worse than jrod with the time on the pitch hes had

I still think jay rod doesnt contribute enough to the,team when he comes on. Ok he puts himself about a lot. But his ball retentions poor. Alot of the time he runs into blind alleys basicly a lot more moves seem to break down when hes on the pitch. I think ud get pretty much the same as what u get from rodriguez up front from guly up front. I cant see why everyone thinks hes going to devolop into the next big thing, gaston is younger than him yet the differance in class is staggering

not really hcdajfu but tancredi palmeri on twitter has just tweeted gaston ramirez will be a summer target for milan,according to sky italy ffs i hope we can keep him for a long time i love watching gaston i really think hes got what it takes to be a world class player, hes ajoy to watch

He looks lively in a run around alot way as usual,but he didnt create anything or look like scoring. Hes featured in most games this season off the bench at least, how many times has he changed a game?

We were pretty good all over the pitch today I thought shcneiderlin and guly worked especially hard. Gaston was also class and our main attackin threat. Again though I think after our substitutitions were made and gaston and rickie went off you knew we wouldnt score. Jay rod still doesnt seem to bring alot to the table, I think we would have had more chance of snatching the win with lambert and ramirez still on

Exactly we showed stoke way to much respect, for 90 percent of the second half we just booted the ball clear giving it straight back to stoke. Why didn't we pass it around and make them chase the ball ? Or get our creative players on like Ramirez and try to hit them on the break . I don't usually hate on Adkins but the coward football he had us play in the 2nd half cost us this game I

why was we so negative in the second half, stoke were down to ten men we had a two goal lead yet we just tried to hoof the ball clear for the majority of the second half. we needed a outlet yet took off puncheon for richardson,ramirez could have really helped us this game yet didnt get off the bench. adkins treated stoke with ten men like barcelona and in the end we got what we deserved. for me that was the worst decisions by adkins this season 2 points thrown away

That is fair, trouble is if lallana is out for a period we might see rickie drop behind rodriguez and gaston out wide left like 2nd half yesterday ramirez looks much more effective playing off striker. Its taking 2 of our key men out of favoured positions so hes really gonna have to take the chance with both hands

Trouble is I think if lallana is injured ,we will go back to trying to fit him in again, I do hope he comes good but I say what I see and so far he looks in a rush all the time and just trys to get his shot off as quick ad possible. I think maybe hes a confidence player if I remember correctly he started slow for burnley then hit four in a cup game and didnt stop scoring after that

With jay rod the technique and composure doesnt seem there, He kind of snatches at his shots instead of trying to place them, I did think in the first 20 minutes of the game he looked energetic and pacy,but so far he hasnt contributed much for us at,all.

funny you should say that torres comment pingwing rodriguez reminds me a bit of the nowadays torres , its the down on his confidence/scared look on his face and the way nothing ever seems to come off for him that gives me this feeling.if i see jrod coming off the bench or his name in the starting line up it doesnt exactly fill me with confidence. the other problem with jrod is he is blocking the far more impressive looking mayuka from getting games and sub appearences. this is a shame because i think mayuka can turn a game like he did at spurs i like the look of mayuka but if were not going to use him he too looks a waste

adams value is determined by the club, hes worth what we would let him go for and since hes a real key player for us and probably on a par with ramirez for being important to the team. id say it would take more then 15m to temp us to sell. as far as i can see we dont need the money, adams happy and we are happy with him so if you want him ure gonna have to pay well over the odds

cant believe some of thes comments, i think he is definately worth the 12million hes got class written all over him and for a number 10 playmaker also has the pace and tricks to beat players. gaston and lallana both look top 6 premier league material in my eyes, if anybody is a waste of money its rodriguez hes had numerous chances and never brings anything to the team,mayukas done more in his 2 sub appearences then j rods done all season

I thought shaw was going to be a gareth bale type fullback. But to me he looks a more sensible defend first type of player. He does look solid though I think with our defense already being shaky the way shaws playing has really helped us to be more solid as a team

Ive voted for fonte another solid performance from him. Cork played quite well too but we didnt turn it on like we did sunday

Lallana has been our best player this season for me. Always involved in all our good attackin moves. Hes got great skill and flair and since being captain He seems to have that extra bit of determination to really lift the team and lead by example. the last 3 games the interplay between lallana gaston and punch has been mouthwatering:-)
