Davis cork and wp do the simple things well, but when you want creativity gaston and lallana are the ones who can open up defences. Mp has done a good job with us but i cant help feeling that sometimes he is too negative,with the midfield and attack, its no wonder rickie and osvaldo have been struggling this year because its only really lallana capable of anything special with gaston on the bench!

Pocchetinos treatment of ramirez has been ludicrous tbh, lets be honest cork jwp and davies are all the same type of player sideways passers and not much creativity. What annoys me with this situation is the way fans are getting more and more on his back this season when he has had zero starts in the league, this doesnt mean hes crap at all this is down to pochetino, maybe they had a fall out,or maybe hes just not mps type of player but for christ sake he has done nothing this season to warrant all the abbuse. Personaly i see a great player in gaston but he needs a run in the side I would be really confident of him turning this situation around with a run of games but it may never happen under mp.

They are 2 of the most powerfull clubs in a way of attracting players. But to answer your question they would not be regarded big clubs in the same way as liverpool utd etc, do you think many people regarded man city as a big club going back 10 -15 years? .

All this big club crap gets on my nerves, players and managers go where the money/ambition is not to the team with the biggest fanbase or history. from liverpool fans all you ever hear is big club big club yet torres didnt think that when he was leaving for chelsea, neither arsenal or liverpool can compete with chelsea and city when it comes to signing players so i guess big club isnt the be all and end all

I still think its more infrastructure then manager. Most of this stems from corteses game plan which he had since he took over. Is it really a coincidence that every manager since the cortese era has done well? I dont think so.. A plan has always been in place the manager carrys it out and we continue to improve., i actually wouldnt worry if we did lose mp as i just feel every. This subject frustrates the hell out of me. I really feel gaston takes so much undeserved stick its just unbelievable. How is he meant to prove his price tag or whatever if hes not getting game time? Just because mp doesnt seem to rate him does not make him a bad player maybe mp just prefers the headless chicken types like rodriguez to fit the pressing game better. At the end of the day though gaston has turned in some nice performances like villa arsenal everton last season. And in the everton arsenal games in particular worked his socks off, but u cant judge him on 5 or ten minutes off the bench. I feel absolutely certain if he had a run of 5 premier league games starts in a row he would create a lot more then the likes of jay rod,. I for one will be very disapointed if he leaves as i really feel he can go on to massive things under a manager that rates him and uses him regularly Nearly as disapointed as i am with the fans for creating ramirez diss threads all the time. Worst case scenario he adds some creative spark on the bench. Would u rather not have that option?

He should be in over jayrod its a no brainer. Gaston is capable of brilliance jay rod is not The number of times i watch jay rod and he snatches a lame shot or loses control of the ball is unbelievable yet for some reason gaston cops all the flack.its total bs in my opinion.

boruc clyne fonte lovren shaw wanyama morgan ramirez lambert jrod osvaldo ideally id have a 352 with ramirez in the hole and shaw and clyne wingbacks,but liverpool away is not the best time to experiment. anyway the above formation could give us plenty in attack if keeping ramirez and jayrod wide whilst also givin plenty of options to switch it up if lambert in the hole is not workin

average start so far, but if we managed to pull a shock at liverpool and follow up by beating palace it would be a fantastic start and peoples expectations will go through the roof , on the flip side though lose tomorrow and fail to beat palace its going to be suicide watch on here and people calling for pochs head, im sticking with 6-10 though think we will start clickin soon and we are in a position to have a decent season, im happy with most of our first 11 apart from maybe jay rod and lallana id rather see ramirez play better first touch and more creative

i think 6-10th is realistic we should be competing with the swanseas and evertons this season maybe 6th is a big ask but we are definately progressing nicely i think we have a better squad then most of the the other clubs outside of the top 6

Yes he put in a good ball for osvaldo.. But how many other chances did osvaldo get ? We have a 15m striker in osvaldo is one chance a game acceptable for him? If not who do you point the finger at?

When you look at how our players are delivering what is expected from them, Jay rod all lallana are definately the weak links, the defence is doing a job, the defensive mf pairing of schneiderlin and wanyama are doing there job of protecting the back 4, the 2 strikers lambert and osvaldo are both quality but both need service. This is where we are struggling the creative side of the game to make the chances for lambert and osvaldo ,playing both of these 2 up front together is like having one less man to do the creating leaving it down to the inconsistent lallana and rodriguez, Maybe ramirez and ward prouse can do a job? But this is the problem area everything else looks good.

Agree i have always been a fan of ramirez and against rodriguez. Trouble with rodriguez is he has no first touch and no technique everything he does looks rushed and clumsey,even the couple of crosses he managed to dig out in the second half his first touch was so bad he was fighting to keep the ball in play. Lallana is also starting to wind me up at least he has some talent unlike j rod, But as soon as he gets into a position to do anything constructive its like he gets mental block, awfull first touch yesterday after brilliant play from osvaldo to put him in, in general though lallanas decision making is looking really poor. Ive always thought ramirez looks a class act at times he looks world class, Its so frustrating to see your best creative talent still on the bench, when the championship standard clowns jrod and lallana continue to make mistake after mistake

Its been a good window. If you had offered me osvaldo and wanyama before the start of this window id have been happy. We have strengthened the spine of our team with three signings top 6 clubs were interested in,thats progress. And im also still holding hope on gaston coming good he comes under way to much critcism on here i see a classy player in him
