More from POL From the Trust site The Pompey Supporters' Trust deal to buy Portsmouth Football Club remains firmly on track. It is now three weeks since the Trust was given 'preferred bidder' status by administrator PKF, but although little has emerged about the process since, PST spokesperson Colin Farmery has assured fans things are progressing smoothly. 'It has been a very busy time for us all as there has been a huge amount of work going on behind the scenes towards concluding the deal,' he said. 'The delicate nature of the negotiations should not be underestimated, which has required detailed scrutiny from our legal and accountancy teams. 'We will be asking fans to commit their money to the biggest share offer ever of its type and as a result we recognise we need to ensure the deal is as water-tight as possible, not only for investors but also for the long-term future of the club 'We are now in the final stages of negotiating a deal which has never been done before, which obviously takes time as it is a "first". 'We'd like to give our thanks to everyone for their support and patience. It has been a tough few weeks for the football club on the pitch, so we are hoping for some very good news off the pitch shortly.’ Farmery explained some of the work which had been taking place, including the finalising of both the shareholders' agreement and the share prospectus. 'These two documents are vitally important, as they lay out the terms of our offer and the relationships between all the stakeholders in them. We have been working closely with Supporters' Direct on drafting them. 'As negotiations have progressed the contents have inevitably changed, but we feel we are now very close to having a final draft ready for distribution. 'We look forward to being able to put forward our proposals in the very near future and we are all frustrated by the fact we haven't been able to say much publicly lately. 'As a Trust we are very conscious of the fact we need to be as transparent as possible, especially after all that has gone on at our club in recent years,' he added. The Trust aims to create the biggest community club in Britain, backed by around 2000 fans who have pledged almost £2m, partnering with a number of individual investors. From POL The meeting took the form of an update from the Pompey Supporters Trust, with no fixed agenda set for the meeting. The below cover the points raised. •It is acknowledged that, for obvious reasons, the Trust only able to make limited information publically available due to the ongoing discussions as regards club ownership. •The Trust's aim for the future is to create transparancy at the club but cannot, unfortunately, be truly transparent at the moment during this acquisition phase •Ashley then gave an account of events over the last few weeks •Four weeks ago, the Trust were confident of being named the preferred bidder for the club •Unfortunately, as has been mentioned in various public media, risk managers at PKF did an about turn and recommended Portpin to the Football League. •Following this, there was a concerted effort to make the football league aware of all facts before a judgement was made, and the Football League read and took notes of the facts and articles put forward by the likes of Mike Hall and Sue Maskell. •Following this, the Football League put questions to Portpin, some of which they were either unable to answer or did not answer in full. •The Football League then went back to PKF and said that any deal with Portpin would take time, and the circumstances around discussion with Portpin made things very difficult. PKF then went back to the Trust with a renewed interest in talking to them as regards a deal. •One sticking point, as is publically known, is the situation around the charge on the ground. PKF wanted to do a deal with the Trust before any court case regarding the ground happened. The Trust refused this due to not wanting to risk paying any amount for the ground they were not happy with, they would prefer all amounts to be known pre-deal. •The Presidents are underwriting the majority of legal fees, although the Trust are also underwriting a proportion. •The Trust are meeting PKF once again early next week, w/b 5 November. A deal will not be done unless the Trust are confident that the Club would survive financially both in the short and long term, and that all demands/requests made by the Trust, as a result, are met. •Taking on the club will require a lot of hard work, and a lot of work as regards discussions and getting a deal in place will take place over the next week. •The share prospectus will, hopefully, be available next week. Full agreement on the figures is needed before circulation. •The timeline for taking over the club depends on any court case brought by Portpin as regards their charge on the ground. It is looking likely that any case would happen in December, although a judgement would be made there and then. The case would be in two parts. 1) PKF go to the court and serve notice that they wish to sell Fratton Park for a set amount, which Portpin could challenge, 2) The court is reconvened later so the judge on the valuation of the ground. The latter part would happen in December time at current timeframes. •The Trust have instructed their QC, and are in possession of independent valuations of Fratton Park. The Trust lawyers believe there is a very good chance of obtaining the valuation which the Trust want. •As regards player settlements, a couple have still to be fully agreed, but not enough discrepancy to affect any bid. Money for players would be balanced by remaining parachute payments. •No loans are involved as regards the money put in by the Presidents, it is all their own money. •All but one of the Presidents are Pompey fans, with the other being a keen football fan. As well as those publicised, other fans have put in just as much money. •The Trust have had an informal chat with Michael Appleton, and explained what the Trust are trying to do. •Enquiries as regards how to pledge money are still coming in. •It is acknowledged that, at Day One, the Trust would not own Fratton Park if they take over, with Stuart Robinson taking over Fratton Park initially. However, the Trust will have a period of exclusivity to buy the ground. To be clear for those with any concerns, any planning application to build on the land around the ground would have to be approved by Portsmouth City Council, with any build having to be beneficial to the football club. To be aware, this is not a concern from the Trust, this was in answer to a question put to them at this meeting. •Protection will be in place as regards selling of club shares, so an 'aggressive takeover' would not be possible. •The Trust would always hope to have at least 51% of the voting share of the Board, although 25% would be the minimum required to veto some decisions (some decisions would require a 75% majority, some a 90% majority).

I like it a lot , but one thing I noticed during the villa game is that it is quite a long way behind the actual game. I had Twitter running at the same time and the twitter updates were telling me about the goals and penalty a good minute before big Adam and whispering Dave told me !! Was quite bizarre !!

PompeyScot, Today at 3:50 PM. . Watch Thread Go To First Unread PompeyScotAdministrator Message Count:20,216 New Hi all, The minutes are still to be officially circulated by the chairman, but am having many people ask about them, so am posting them up here (I took the minutes, so have access to the approved version). Those present: Steve Tovey (Chair), Bill Gillon (Minutes), Carl Paddon, Sue Maskell, Vern Rickman, Mike Fulcher, Nigel Tressider, Andy Gaffney, Pam Wilkins, Mick Williams, Johnny Moore It was stated that the Fans Conference would now bear the name of Tony Goodall, in honour of his memory and of the fact he was central to the Conference, being its Chairman at the time of his passing. Johnny Moore explained Trevor Birch's absence. When the Conference was first arranged, two or three weeks ago, there was only one bidder (the Trust) involved with the club, so the picture and information to be discussed was clearer. However, of course, this isn't the case any more, so Trevor did not want to put himself into a position where something he said could be misconstrued or quoted at such a sensitive time. Tickets There is a new ticket manager, Fawaz 'Fred' Almumen, and the Conference wishes to put on record formal congratulations to Fred, the club and Trevor Birch for listening to fans and acting on tickets and pricing. Just short of 8,000 season tickets have been sold as of the current time. It was stated that the club has tried everything it can to get tickets out to fans, the club and Trevor Birch doing all they could to ensure tickets are available to supporters who wish to purchase. Fans are also encouraged to buy tickets, if possible, in the days before the game to ensure that queues for tickets at the booths on match days are kept to an absolute minimum. Carl Paddon stated that he knows people who are holding back on buying tickets because of Portpin's presence around the club. Will the club be able to make season tickets available to fans on a pro-rata basis once the ownership situation at the club is sorted? Johnny and Mick Williams answered that this hadn't been considered, but could be an idea. An opinion from others was that, if the Trust took over, woudl people really care about reduced prices for season tickets? Community Mascots As things stand, we cannot do what we did last season with community mascots because of the lack of kit availability, and the fact the players helped with sponsorship last season whilst no players in the current squad, for obvious reasons, have been approached as yet. The Conference still aims to have a sponsorship scheme for this season. Johnny Moore suggested that somebody go to the training ground to speak to Michael Appleton, and Pam Wilkins has volunteered to take this forward as a result. Catering The pricing of food and drinks from the kiosk had been up for discussion, with the Conference suggestion of a pound for hot drinks taken to Lindleys, the Caterers, by Steve Jones, the Sales Manager. Lindleys had rejected the idea, but the club will keep pushing the proposal. A meeting had been held with the club about the overall catering, with the corporate membership catering for the first game of the season against Bournemouth discussed. For the fans, Alan Taylor, Steve Tovey and two representatives from the Chimes bar had attended. Corporate catering for the first game was thought of as under par, with no chilled wine, poor air conditioning and poor quality of food. Overall, it was thought to be very poor value for money, and the quality of catering from Lindleys is an ongoing one. It was pointed out by Mike Fulcher that Lindleys held the justice licence to sell alcohol at Fratton Park, which explains the ongoing contract for catering at the club, but that licence ends in October. It was noted that, if the Trust took over the club, that existing contracts, many of which are thought to be detrimental to the club, will be looked at. Betting Licence A report on Twitter had mentioned that the club had not renewed their betting licence for the stadium. Nobody at the meeting was aware if the licence had not been renewed, Johnny will make further checks as regards the situation. Stewarding Steve Tovey had made Derek Stone aware of an incident at the previous home game as regards a fan and a drinks bottle. It was thought to be an idea that representatives from Conference should meet with Derek to gauge comments from matches, and to raise any comments and concerns with him directly. Pam Wilkins and Sue Maskell to take this forward. A discussion about standards of stewarding at Pompey and other clubs took place. It was noted that, at Colchester, a certain section of Portsmouth fans had purposely antagonised home stewards who, it was felt, had done nothing but made Pompey fans more than welcome at the ground. Any other business Steve Tovey and Johnny Moore will look at the Conference email listing in order to tidy it up, update email contacts and remove anybody who no longer comes to Conference. It is recognised that Conference meetings are not open public meetings, so journalistic attendance, for example, is not encouraged. Any requests for attendance should go through the chairman of the Conference at the time. Update from Mick Williams, Pompey Supporters Trust Mick gave an update to Conference on the position of the PST bid for the club. It is recognised that only so many details, for reason of confidentiality and sensitivity of the situation, can be made public at this time. The Trust have revised their bid for the club, and have matched Portpin's figure of £8.4 million for player compromises. The Trust are working with Stuart Robinson as regards his potential purchase of Fratton Park and the surrounding land, although he isn't the only option and the Trust are also talking to others. The option is still there for the Trust to buy the ground outright themselves, but more pledges are required and the Trust urges fans to pledge as much as they can, with pledges coming into the Trust all the time. Date of next meeting To be arranged
