  3. Looks like they've been trying to rob their own fans as well ! copied and paste from pol Hi all, OK, this is the addition to this thread. As I have told the Trust when we were asked to post that up, whilst I am happy to do so, I am also putting up my own POV about things as I don't believe on hiding things from you, as I attend the Conference meetings and discussions on behalf of you all. As you are probably aware, Pompey fans won the £30k for the Fanspowerstadium initiative and, as part of that winning prize, the criteria was for a fan of the winning club to choose one of the deemed ways to have the money spent, see the details here. Now, as you again probably know, the club decided that the 30k would go towards keeping the season ticket prices down, and announced that. Now, two problems here. 1) As I've mentioned, that was against the competition criteria and spirit and 2) the ticket prices were published before Pompey won the prize. Something wasn't right, and Scott Mclachlan emailed the club as a result and asked for answers, copying in the Conference email list. Scott talked to a rep from the club on the phone and was assured it was an honest mistake, miscommunication between the Football League and Trevor Birch, and were keen to rectify, hence the request in the other thread. Myself and Vern (PompeyV) said quite openly that we weren't happy with that explanation, it didn't make sense and, really, we didn't believe that it was a 'mistake'. For me, how the blue hell can you commit money which you haven't won yet, it doesn't make any logical sense. Scott said that was honestly how it had been explained to him. So, just to summarise, whilst it's good that fans are now being asked how to use the money, personally I don't believe it was a genuine mistake at all, I find a mistake honestly impossible to happen in the way we are being asked to believe it did, and, whilst we have bigger fights to fight, and staff in general at the club do a great job, I think it's important that the facts are out there for everyone.
  4. Just seen this on saintsplayer , and I now find myself wondering what SKD said when asked about his thoughts on Joe Hart , Petr Cech et al , anybody who was there care to shed some light on this , it seemed to make everybody there laugh !

Has anyone else heard this? This would come inside with the fact that he has just bought the 3 forts in the solent! 20 quidnunc Friday, May 4, 2012 at 03:10 PM The News certainly knows how to annoy. Never mind clunky sites and peculiar mail deletion decisions, lets pick random words in all on-line articles and highlight them to adverise a U.S. mail corporation. Lets get some money in, never mind about employing 'journalists' who can write an interesting story and SPELL the words they use. PUP 21 Harry Stotle Friday, May 4, 2012 at 03:20 PM Post 19 - Sounds like a dream candidate...hope we can bed him in before the new season...or maybe he'll just be a sleeping partner.........that's it I'm out of puns. 22 blueforever85 Friday, May 4, 2012 at 03:22 PM @21 haha it was a good effort! This was just something i heard this morning, fingers crossed something will come out of it!!! PTID 23 grahampfc Friday, May 4, 2012 at 03:28 PM @19 Mike Clare doesn't own Dreams anymore, he is just the CEO of it. Dunno how much he sold it for, but it is now owned by 'Exponent Private Equity'. Exponent bought the company where I work for £140m. So hopefully he's got a bit of cash, or Exponent could buy us 24 Cozy12 Friday, May 4, 2012 at 03:44 PM @21....duvet realise, and does it spring to mind that we might become the slumberland stadium or is that just pillow the belt ?... Four posters have already remarked on this 'takeover' or is TB banning any blanket coverage....... 25 george butler Friday, May 4, 2012 at 03:50 PM dreams was sold for well over £150 million in 2008 and as CEO he will still earn a large salary 26 Albert McCanns Knock Knees Friday, May 4, 2012 at 03:53 PM 8 & 9 so you are a skate and a scummer! 27 blueforever85 Friday, May 4, 2012 at 03:54 PM @24 the puns are still coming then haha! Does anyone know if there is any truth in these rumours? 28 thependragon81 Friday, May 4, 2012 at 04:00 PM There has been a rumour for a while that Mike Clare, founder & president of Dreams is one of the two interested parties, but I doubt either he or TB would confirm this. 29 thependragon81 Friday, May 4, 2012 at 04:01 PM Just to add that he is worth in excess of £200 million

  12. poster on POL sw16girl , palace fan with experience of admin talking a lot of sense Makka said: ↑ How can st money be put in a secure account? If the club is liquidated the money would surely be split between the creditors. It is actually quite easy legally to do this as long as it is done in advance. In fact in some businesses - letting agents etc it is required that customers money is put in a separate account to protect it in case a company goes bust - ring fencing is not difficult. Up until now the main reason for not doing so has been the fact that it would give no benefit to the club and it would be time consuming and costly to run. In addition as stated it would tie the hands of any prospective buyer as to the cost of the ST and TB probably wants to make as few restrictions on new owners as possible. However there does come a time when not taking any steps will start to hurt the club. People who need to budget to buy STs, people who might be drawn to use the money for something else and people who simply feel the lack of a ST for next year means it is definitely all over and start disingaging from the club are in danger of being lost. That is something that any prospective purchaser of the club will definitely not want. There will come a time when TB should set up a ring fenced fund for ST money to be paid into and if he does not then the feeling is going to grow that he is not prepared to invest resources in it because he sees it as pointless as he considers the club is virtually certain not to be around next season. I do not think that time is quite yet but it is pretty soon - a question - when do your STs normally go on sale? Our go on sale in late November but that is really early - most go on sale around now - if yours normally do then a scheme should be being set up by the end of the season at the latest I would think to ensure that people remain committed and engaged. Of course a lot of people will buy STs whenever they come up for sale but sales wil be lost if it is left too late and the point that a show of support by way of good advance ST sales even knowing the club will be in League 1 cannot be anything but a help in selling the club. A Supporters Trust is for life and not just for Crisis applecatcher said: ↑ Use the money over the summer, if we get liquidated it gets paid back from the liquidation. Applecatcher You simply cannot do that - if the money has been spent over the Summer there will be no money in the liquidation to pay back to the ST holders - that is what liquidation for PFC means - no unsecured creditor (which is what the ST holders would be) will get any money at all - any money that has been spent will be lost - the Administrator cannot do that he will be personally liable to them. And before you suggest again that people pay by credit card that does not work either because the money will only get released on a match by match basis. ST money cannot be used in advance of the games it is being paid for and that is that. There are reasons to sell ST's (sell my post above) but having the money available to use as free credit is not one of them - PFC has had enough credit and it can't survive on it any longer DAFC_pompey said: ↑ Not sure if there are differences but Rangers administrators set a deadline for bidders to make a formal bid and in next few days are planning to announce preffered bidder. Is this not something TB can do to force the hand of interested parties and weed out the tyre kickers. Yes he could but if there are only tyre kickers around then he ends up looking a bit stupid - - the people who bought us were fans who said very early on to our Admin - look we really do not want to buy the club (having better things to do with our money) but if there is no one else come back to us and we will see what we can do - he set a deadline knowing that -no one came forward and he went back to them - BUT if you have no fall back buyer (and you clearly do not) then setting deadlines is a pointless exercise. TB would jump at the chance of doing it if he could - a preferred bider is the stuff of his dreams (preferred bidders will put money into the club to keep it going while they carry out due dilegence etc) so to sum up the difference is - Rangers have buyers you don't
