Yes, with us grassroots types it's more important to play with people you get on with and hope the subs don't go up too much! If you're a not very well paid professional in the first place the extra money might be vital.

Shall I get your coat for you?

yep, and having had their fibre installed a couple of months ago I'm pleased with the speed of 943Mbps download and just a little less on upload. Decent product so far and better than another betting firm. If I get enough referrals it could pay for my season ticket! 🙂 My credit card bill came through today and for a moment I thought what the heck..

Too many hints on here and very little actual information. I can't remember, I know the manager has been kicked upstairs, have we got a new coach yet?

That's enough guys, behave! There's got to be an element of truth in the best jokes.. 🙂

No, by half way through the season Saints knew what they were doing and made space for each other and understood the angles and their individual roles. Nobody did last night: Rice may be a good player but had too much to do and looked lost, TAA is not a midfielder and to be honest Downes would have done better there with his dynamism and keeping the ball moving - the odd long pass from TAA doesn't make up for doing what a central midfielder needs to do. As one article I saw said, they were playing with so much fear and gawd knows what will happen when we come up against a team like Spain. I saw some of the Scotland game and thought what appalling passing, and then last night thought it all over again. The only good thing is the local pub's turnover getting a much needed boost, even if drinking more in sorrow than celebration.

The only consolation tonight was the Goodens Gold in my local pub.. I know some of you complain about Saint's possession football, but the second half tonight illustrated what happens if you kick long. I think some of you have been a bit harsh on Kane: he was receiving shit balls with nobody anywhere near him to lay off to. I'm not going to be all frabjous joy tonight, but I'll take the win..

From a brief look at their forum it appears some had doubts how he fitted into their style, but there was no doubt the appreciation, and that he seemed to be a positive character which, as we have seen from the sulky types Saints have had, is probably an important consideration.
-
Blimey! I know what that stands for, but how many of the youngsters will?! 🙂
-
Will he come off the bench to engage the opposition defence and keep them occupied when we are leading, or holding on for a draw, or will he be used for a bit of creativity when we are trying to get back in to games? Just one or two crucial passes may be more or less all that's needed from him at times. As long as we are not overpaying I'm happy enough with the signing but hope to get a lot more excited by a few others..

Nah, people will buy it for others they don't really like, or to challenge them to wear it. Imagine a large charity walk with all of them wearing that! On second thoughts, don't imagine it..

My Saints going experiences have ranged from 31,044 packed in to The Dell, down to its 14k capacity with the bench seats to St Marys where they were planning their budgets based on from 18k to 28k crowds and a 24k average.. So demand is a bit elastic, and although there has to be some fundamental underlying demand I wouldn't be too hung up on a waiting list for season tickets. Many can't justify them due to other commitments some of the time. I'm a bit concerned the absence of a physical ticket will dissuade people from having one if you can't easily transfer it or lend it. I have an ST now but when living away was able to borrow various ones through connections. Either way there's a big casual market out there, and you also need to keep a range of cheap seats for the kids and teenagers who can't commit. I can't see expansion happening quickly but at least more likely than with the previous owners. How do concerts like Take That impact on the club's finances? Would more of them make expansion more likely?

If showing them your redacted bank statement doesn't help have a look at the Parking forum on Money Saving Expert, where volunteers give a great deal of their time in helping fighting these companies. I've been caught twice at a local Lidl and luckily had CC statements or receipts to prove shopping there, but both occasions there were problems with the screens to enter Regs: not much incentive for the companies to maintain them properly, is there? ANd they are not fines unless issued by a council: they are invoices and often extremely dodgy ones.

I think that's the critical issue, at least when I've watched him. Never quite there, but has something going for him. Perhaps another year of experience, strength, growth even may help him make an impact.

Ireland obviously suffering by not having Bazunu in goal..

I thought she was their best player at the Euros when I saw her at St Marys, although I accept any accusations of bias! Certainly had a higher level of fitness than the ones who played in the NI leagues. I've heard of players resigning when teams go full time as the money on offer short term just doesn't make up for all the potential downsides. It underlines that the difference in money does have a developmental impact to the game, particular towards the higher levels. It's a shame that there is no way to integrate 'amateur forms' into the game, although I suspect that Stevie Heighway playing for Liverpool whilst a student was getting plenty of 'boot money', but imagine getting back late from playing a hard game in the north to then have to go to do serious job in the morning. The advantage of not being very good and having to pay to play is that I've never had to go further than the edge of Hampshire!

I suggest you re-read my post carefully as it contains all the information to answer your question. Obviously somebody 'made it up'; whether it was written by the local candidate or Reform Head Office gave the text to cut and paste I haven't a clue but it's on the leaflet on my desk which I'm retaining in case I ever meet the twat. I'll ask him the question too: how much do you pay for a kWh of electricity. He doesn't look bright enough to understand the question. Let's forget standing charges for the moment although they really impact the poorer.
-
Just one quick question for WG, as he seems perilously close to spouting stuff from the Reform company leaflet I have on my desk here.. "We have raging inflation from energy cost and Net Zero as the Government put ideology ahead of energy security [!] and the cost of living". The rest of the leaflet is full of such inane and juvenile and innumerate trivialities. Shame I couldn't collar the canvasser.. How much do you pay for a unit (1kWh) of electricity?
-
What are they actually spending it on then? Functioning women's toilets, non collapsing seats (both personal experiences), non-rusting barriers, in date fire extinguishers, paying St. John's Ambulance in advance, making sure roof panels haven't got holes or won't drop off?? Even Man U don't have to bother with the latter!
-
Some people here are always trying to be funny on here but with you I can't tell. If you're serious what makes you write him off like that, as there are plenty of players who have moved up divisions and done well? He may not make it, but I wouldn't be so dogmatic in your statements because they may come back to bite you where it hurts. There's always someone on here who will then point it out for you, although it's not the sort of thing I can be bothered with.

I see the proposed takeover of Everton by 777Partners has fallen through. They had a period of exclusivity until yesterday..

Edozie also looks interested, unlike Mara.
-
Nah, I really won't waste my time doing that. Just that there are a few sexist and right wing prats on here and I feel perfectly entitled to get irritated.
-
Hmm, the streams have been useful but not having a need for viagra or those sort of naked women 😉 I find it difficult to give him my vote. There's quite a few I'd like to give negative votes to, but I shall try and be more Davefizzy like!

There's a 'latest transfers' thread in the Guardian and good to see THB as an entry, but it's also interesting the released players who are now free agents. I've no idea of the standard of some of them - I noticed Anthony Martial of Manchester United and Wissam Ben Yedder of Monaco - so maybe worth keeping an eye on? As long as we're not paying. At least we haven't got Les Reed around now to insist on paying Monaco £19m for him..
