I'll have it. PM you Monday morning, if that's OK?
-
I've not followed Infantino's time waster at all but now off to the pub to watch England v France, where all the players _will_ be taking it seriously.
-
It was the mention of BBD that threw me! Maybe a pre-season with Still will help, but whether that helps fitness, touch, pace, passing, effort or any other aspect remains to be seen He must have something to have scored a few goals but I certainly haven't seen what it is.

I'm not sure; the recent departures of Purfield, Pike and Haaland at the end of their contracts could mean our offers were turned down as it talked about them being in discussions. I haven't followed up to see if they've signed elsewhere as the OS just says pursuing other 'opportunities elsewhere', thanked them and wished them all the best for the future. They might not even be staying in professional football, following the path of other slightly older players with alternative careers.

Yes, just had a look at the video and he shows a different level of dynamism and urgency over TP. Brings other players into the game quite well too, giving and going into the space. How he'll perform with us will be interesting to see, but he does have age on his side.

Frankly professional sport always rather surprises me. When you have to pay to go to the gym or local pool, and pay £25/35 a month to play grassroots football all the figures bandied about seem high to me! But yes, KWP was probably on more..
-
If I were you Saint86, I'd delegate that aspect of it to Farmer Saint..

Oi, I played full 11-a-side last season and was 70 at the end. Mind you, I did only last as long as TP but probably did run around more than BBD when I was on the pitch and at around the same speed. I thought that's where they used to do the beheadings and then paraded the heads in front of the crowds? We're going to have a better motivated side next season, I can see.

I wondered why people were mentioning the word Jota on the P&O thread, and didn't understand. Now I do and wish I didn't. 28 and three kids, that's so sad.

Yeah, well I've owned shares too. Bloody Rupert Lowe and Southampton Holdings.. Mind you SSE doing well so can't complain.
-
Hairstyle?
-
Really? What dodgy US based social media are you ingesting? Mind you, you talking about 'massive insecurities' made me laugh, and probably did a few others too.
-
No, it would be pointlessly unnecessary. Why on earth would you want or need to? Or perhaps somebody like Lowe would make it as he'd think he was making a point.
-
Really! That would be most undignified and unpleasant. I'd get my mushroom foraging knife out (the one with the curved blade and with a little brush on the end) and cut him free... He really is a most unpleasant man and fairly stupid with it, apart from knowing some good accountants who helped him with his reverse takeover of Southampton. I'd be interested to know just how much of his own capital he put into it.. Which bit about 'welcome applications' does he not understand, and the need to widen the demographic? They won't be appointed if they can't do the job. Although I seem to recall we had Anthony Pulis and Tommy Forecast during his time, and although the right colour they both never got a game. He would probably prefer somebody who can do an unpaid internship because mummy and daddy are paying for the flat rental. If he thinks the best people get the job all the time he really does need to wake up a bit and realise why certain industries are populated by people from certain backgrounds.

I don't know why I come on this forum sometimes! There are the perpetual optimists, the people who are never happy, and then there's Trousers. 🙂 We could pay a lot for someone who doesn't produce, not much for someone who does, or vice-versa, which is my bon mot for the day.. But were the Mbeumos and Toneys of this world the finished article before they stepped up? Even Lambert, who seemed to benefit by being in a more professional environment and started taking himself and his fitness more seriously? Some of our failures you could see why we took a gamble: Boufal and Mara for instance, as they had some basic attributes that could be developed. Carillo, TP and Brereton-Diaz there really wasn't. Stewart another category where you can see he's a footballer (unlike TP) but the risk in signing him was really misjudged. I'm now going to get my padded cycling shorts and go and join Trousers on the fence until the window is closed..

Better stamina too?

Councils have very little margin for discretionary spending these days, and their legal obligations to meet SEND and adult social care requirements (inter alia) are putting many councils, of all political colours, into danger of bankruptcy. But we can all agree that Southampton hasn't made best use of its assets, whether that's due to the council or ABP or developers wanting everything handed to them on a plate. The problem with the rail link is that to get to Central you'd have to do a back shunt from near the maintenance works on what is a busy stretch of line. But going straight out heading North would be easy enough, and take a very large proportion of the traffic. Particularly useful for away fans but not so good for business in town. Might be the sort of development if St Mary's were ever chosen again for an international tournament. The ticket sales seem to have held up remarkably in the circumstances, so there does seem to be a healthy underlying demand for tickets which must be the basis for any stadium expansion. Plus a few more tourists in Rento Takaoaka shirts will help the bottom line! It will be interesting to compare the crowd figures with our neighbours down the road..

It's like Bolton but worse..

Terms have been agreed. Does that include them actually paying us? I understand that with Orsic there was some confusion about which way the 3.5 million should go..
-
Headline in the newspaper: We can dream about a few decent loans, can't we?!
-
It's funny, but that phrase normally has positive connotations like "I'm looking forward to my holiday".. Needs a re-write, I feel.

Pissing yourself laughing?

This I think, and the OP did mention 'irrational dislike'. I can't get upset with players who end up out of their depth and just aren't very good. Paul Moody from Waterlooville, for example, who the club took a losing punt on. But players who don't put the effort in are towards the top on my list. Has David Speedie been mentioned yet?
-
That makes sense, but I'd prefer AA to BBD; his effort and pressing alone would be the difference.
