I'm with this opinion, there's a whole lot going on behind the scenes and occasionally front stage, like HMRC's question at the meeting. The fat lady hasn't sung yet and we're nowhere near the final curtain. It's more like one of those cliff-hanger series, "Pompey have their CVA, but what will happen next. See next week's thrilling episode..."

According to the Firenze local rag the team want to sell another 6 players (not including PW) to free up money for the coach to spend on big names, but no offers yet. So I reckon they still want to sell and Southampton probably have as good a chance as any club if we really want him. I can't see those other offers being bigger, given the crowds and money in italian football, unless one of the foreign teams after him is in Germany.
-
So, in the other article the agent says he won't return to Southampton; there is interest from 2 Italian and 2 foreign clubs and he might even stay at Fiorentina if Comotto goes. But.. "Tutto però verrà deciso quando il direttore Corvino sarà nuovamente a Firenze e valuterà sia la posizione del calciatore, sia le offerte di cui ho parlato.” But everything will be decided when the director Corvino is back in Firenze and assesses the the player's position and the offers I spoke about.

Just seen this. That's my understanding too.

W******, what Turkish is probably doing; or change it to an adjective....
-
I think you are being a little obtuse there...

Mwaah, ha, ha. I reckon they've been suspicious for a looong time. As to what is going on in response, that's why this thread is so interesting and entertaining, even if probably not always accurate..
-
Bit hard on the keeper, but you know what they say about always coveering your near post. Leave the cross to the other defenders.
-
It would make sense. Would that imply he has a second back-up proposal all ready? If he has it'll look a bit suspicious, eh?

Watched Italy last night in an Italian bar: most of the locals wandered outside to smoke after about 20 minutes! It has been poor, but pleased for NZ's first world cup point! As you say, great header, (positioning, body shape, attack, direction) and I've seen more experienced players do a LOT worse!
-
BUMP. Any news? I'm driving from Italy through Switzerland some time in July and having bought my Swiss motorway sticker might as well get a bit of value from it!
-
So the OS article is dated Tuesday: they get first dibs as is only fair. But don't The Echo have an afternoon edition any more; it always used to be an afternoon/evening paper? What are The Echo doing trying to compete with the dailies? A storm in an egg-cup.
-
It's not so much a dig at The Echo as agents: "agents publicly link their players with us for no other reason than to strengthen their position when negotiating contracts with other Clubs. That even extends as far as certain players declaring that they have been offered a contract by the Club when they have not". Also, although there were obviously negotiations before over Dickson and hence the rumours we've probably had to wait for the decision that we would accept a tribunal price, presumably once the two parties were fairly close on their valuations.

Watched it in an Italian bar. Most of them disappeared outside for a fag and I couldn't blame them, and we thought we were dire! I predicted, about ten minutes into the game that neither team would score a goal in open play...

I don't wear kit to matches (except finals..) but I do for running and training so might get myself one. Opinion seems generally to be pretty positive about the quality. Anyway, back to the kitchen. I might make some chocolate brownies to keep SRS's weight up.. made with Ex-Lax

We have every confidence in your supplies of beer DP, plus the odd visit to your favourite dive to help things on their way.:-)

To be fair, even if he was he doesn't exactly have a great product. Perhaps we can all come up with a list of Pompey's USPs - unique selling points. I'll start: - great fans, but only about 16000 of them (and falling)
-
Ah, petrol prices! Soon to be of interest to me as I'll be driving back from Italy in July. Italy, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium and France again. This is to avoid French motorway tolls and French motorway petrol prices. Don't let anyone tell you that petrol is cheaper over here!

Bloomin 'eck, supporting the US - they hate us that much? Why's that then. I can think of one or two possible reasons but I'm not sure reason counts for much in the Middle East.
-
Can you also tell us what you were on? A bit coked up is my guess...

It was the wrong time of year to be in the Southern Ocean. Not a comment on her abilities, and I certainly couldn't and wouldn't do it (watch keeping as a single-hander would be no fun). Just glad she's OK though.
-
We were the better team but we weren't good, just a leetle bit better than an average US team. I was sat in an Italian bar saying to a local that England wouldn't win 3-0 (his prediction) and that we would certainly concede a goal. I also gave the bar a lesson in English cursing: I am quite capable of doing it in Italian (and French) but obviously could get away with it more! I see Man City's Wright-Phillips has the same faults as ours used to... As for Heskey; he's big and strong and did a decent layoff to Gerrard but his shot was straight at the keeper - is he really the best we can do for that position? For all the silly talk about Lambert for England I can't help thinking he'd have done better in that situation. And the goalkeeping error I wouldn't expect from the young lass who plays for my team. Che palle. B******s.
-
..and remember how critical we were of him!
-
Bloomin 'eck, not the company that pay my pension?! Not sure that Stuey would give me a discount though, what with being a female football player and supporter who occasionally drinks pints!

Ask Cortese? He seems to have got rid of all the moles at SMS.
