  1. That depends on the reception, I'd say..... Anyway, I giggled, so main board it is, IMHO.
  2. RinNY - a very good question, which must be occurring to more than just you, me and the people on this board....
  3. I prefer one liner jokes myself... Let's face it; probably anyone could buy Pompey at the moment with the loose change from the kid's moneybox.. it's the absolutely unknowable debts that go with it that are the problem.
  4. Surely as a Premiership club they'd have their own indoor training pitch? (she asked innocently)...
  5. On various general topics including the FA cup (and the poor crowds - no mention of Saint's crowd though) and Portsmouth - from around 17 minutes. A comment about Storrie "why is he so popular with the fans as he seems completely incompetent...", and more... A few Saints fans commented: there's only one SteveGrant, surely!! http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/audio/2010/jan/04/football-weekly-podcast-leeds-fa-cup-manchester-united-redknapp
  6. I have some Adnams Broadside and Marstons Pedigree in my cantina.. not trying to make you jealous or anything, but looks like I might need it tonight....
  7. I reckon on Schneiderlin.. Well, he's got to score eventually... Hasn't he??
  8. I am going to go and practise on my flute... It worked the last game I tried it and saved lots of refreshing the page and saved my nerves...
  9. heheheh - "adding comments has been disabled for this video"....
  10. I think tongue-in-cheek is probably allowed though..
  11. Ta for that, worth a try although not mentioned on Myp2P which is normally pretty reliable. Your question has been answered, but try these: :-) YMMV IYSWIM Sorry, but been on the net more than 15 years from the times when it was so slow abbreviations were necessary for more than just laziness!
  12. Not AFAIK so it's pedigree again chum.
  13. Gawd, one will do. Some of us are poor EFL teachers! I'm sure I could manage more than one if they really happened though! I'd even consider Ryanair if I got desperate.. Still, relative poverty made up by the local red wine and a season ski pass. Not bothering today as with high wind chill it'll be (-10 and -20) nearly -30!
  14. I think I'd think that even if I had a clue who really owns the club...
  15. Having just looked at the Colchester goals on the BBC player I'd say we need a little more pace in that central area. Not something we didn't know already, but the goals rather underlined the point.

  17. Quite! And no potential for 30k crowds either, 3rd division or Premiership.. I think that Boxing Day crowd was significant as it underlined OUR potential...
  18. There was an article in today's Guardian about Pompey which didn't mention that: where did you hear it? Financing the various due debts appears to be a real problem. But yes, I think their situation is far worse. Far fewer assets (ground, training ground, land) and greater debts. Ah! Just been on guardian website to get the link.... I see! Breaking news: * HM Revenue & Customs issues winding up petition on Portsmouth Football Club ... more to follow
  19. Possibly, and that's the difference. Before it would have been "certainly"..
  20. A Saints fan could write a great script for that King's Theatre Alladin, eh?
  21. Thanks for that. Using me aging mum's PC to view the goals again from a different angle! Must fix up a proxy server when I get back to Italy..
  22. It wasn't a great game but I was just relieved after 3 and a half years abroad, and only early season and winter holiday games, to see a win! I know James got a deflection for his goal: he was in front of me and completely wrong footed the defender by going inside. The space opened up, he hit it with his left and it was a worthy goal. Shame about conceding. That didn't do my saints fan's nerves any good and I really didn't want to maintain my record of draws and losses but Papa put his one on one away well: I've seen enough of the bloomin' things missed. Connolly looked out of it but you do think he might grab something given half a chance. Antonio occasionally looked a bit headless, but he did work hard and was nowhere near as bad as I'd been lead to believe on here. Schneiderlin is a real asset, and one day he's just going to say "voila'" and hit a screamer; in the meantime I'll say thanks for the passing and tackling. Shame not to see Jaidi but Perry still has a good head even if not the legs. To be honest Exeter played well but they really didn't offer real penetration in attack. I don't think I can afford to go to Colchester even if I could get a ticket, but there's real optimism around now and I might start saving up just in case I need to get a flight around play-off time in May.:-)
  23. I think most of us appreciated that RonManager was making a tongue-in-cheek post. Why are people so antagonistic on here? I'm sure most of us at heart love to see the new generation coming along, including those who act like grumpy old men..
  24. I'm just looking forward to my visit from Italy and a ground pretty well full on all sides. A kid coming to a full ground is much more likely to want to come again than seeing swathes of empty terraces. There's going to be a buzz around the ground, and even the regulars in our usual 19k crowds this season are going to feel like kids again!
  25. It _is_ good news. The bad news is I have a ticket and haven't seen them win in 3 plus years, particularly when they've had big holiday crowd. All runs have to finish eventually.....
