Been having a cackle at the screen this morning. Don't worry about me, I can take care of myself. Built like a brick outhouse, and since I ski every week and do football training twice a week I have excitingly firm legs.:-) Anyway, it's match day and the sky is a wonderful shade of blue with snow down to quite low levels: absolutely glorious! True, but on the other hand do you know what Saints budgeted for before they moved ? I heard they reckoned on crowds of a third around 18k, a third on 24/5k and the top teams 30k+. The effect of a new ground resulted in much better figures and I could see a similar impact of an even better ground. Lower ticket prices on the German model would also help. My own feeling is that the whole waterfront could benefit from regeneration (and not blocked off by masses of private flats) and an improved stadium could be part of that.

Ah yes, real ale appeals to my immature side too! Sometimes you can be really good and make it to the cubicle in time, relax and then absolutely trumpet. I've been known to giggle uncontrollably at such events, which of course results in more fanfares. It does depend on diet, but the volume and duration can be amazing.

Err, and how is said team going to be paid. At least Saints can point to reasonable gates (another 30k against Leeds). Who will pay these decent CCC players, who will need to be "persuaded" to go to such a shambles of a club? Have they any decent reserve/academy team players to step up?? With the parachute money mortgaged who is going to take on the club, its massive debts (I've lost track of the amount, but so it seems have the professionals) and commitment to pay rental on the crap ground. I really can't see it.
