  1. Where I live in the Italian Alps I don't get any TV at all, which given the quality of Berlusconi's craap is no great loss. Mind you, perhaps I might if I bought a TV!! It is annoying not being able to see little video clips of footie on the BBC's web-site when everything else is available. Mind you, with Saints' recent lapse into obscurity it's not as if there's been much to search for around the local sports' bars!
  2. and then he pancaked I presume... Sorry... Dad ex RAF...
  3. Hah, If there were a sweepstake I'd go for more....
  4. Bloody hell Alpine, it feels great to agree with you! Alps rule!
  5. I'm back! Before midnight as I'm playing tomorrow. Quite a few wines since I left, a beer and now I've been down to my cellar for an Adnams Broadside (or two). Still a big grin on my face...
  6. Apppppeerrrritivo time! Byeeee, I may be a little while! ..and I'm in the squad for tomorrow, I feel a subs appearance and a goal coming on.....
  7. I'm never going to get the housework done at this rate!
  8. weee - just hit refresh and there it was! Bit worried we're not scoring from open play though....
  9. Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of too! It must be living in the Alps that does it [cough cough].
  10. I saw him once, can't remember which game: possibly the Reading one when I was over on a visit, and I was impressed at his directness and speed. He didn't seem tall but solid in the way Danny Wallace was. I once spoke to DW at a London Saints social and standing next to him gave a completely different impression to what you saw in the stands: absolutely brick out-house solid!
  11. Doctoroncall, don't think we can keep this joke up much longer......
  12. Yep, saw him up at Huddersfield (quite a drive from Italy!) and although we were generally crap he _can_ tackle and use his height to head the ball, it's just that it isn't the major feature of his game. Definitely quality and he's still young and, not a quality to be underated, not an Academy dwarf.
  13. Should be OK if he can stroke the ball around a bit and occasionally stick an oar in.
  14. Well, he wouldn't make me a winner....;-)
  15. Perhaps someone was reading here, ... or did somebody email?
  16. There's too much unaccounted for cash sloshing around in Dubai, or maybe number of posts, so I reckon it's a fix. ;-) Still, if you can't find the wall space I can always do with new shirts for footie training: at my time of life I can get very sweaty! Thanks to Steve grant, BTW.
  17. FYI - he played the full 90 for the reserves against Plymouth.
  18. More important I note that Kayne McLaggon played 69 minutes - good to see him coming back from injury. Plus the "impressive Antonio".. interesting.
  19. You romantic fool you.;-) Plus I'll actually get some work done this afternoon instead of popping in to check the board!
  20. Thank goodness flights from Geneva, Turin and Milan aren't tooo expensive!:-) I'm sure the school I work at would let me take a day off when they realised how important it was!
  21. Just got in from footie training and yay, I'm called up for Sunday (3.5 hour coach ride though - that's the problem with womens' footie here) and even harder to believe, Saints have scored 3 goals! When I read the OS I saw the 3 and thought 'sod' before looking more closely!
  22. Whether any league club would have been interested in a player recovering from injury is moot. But with Eastleigh he can still train full time at Staplewood when they aren't having their own sessions and use all of Saints facilities, he doesn't have to face a disruptive move and live out of a suitcase, and his new team mates will certainly keep him up to the mark. Plus he gets first team experience in a physical league. Good move, in my opinion.
  23. **** = micturated substance..
  24. Jeez, I'm no longer sure when some people are taking the ****!
  25. Arizona on the match thread... "Doubt we'll get much traffic checking in on this one, so just the one thread. Personally I'd give a few players the night off, given how we've got 3 games in 7 days." Then 12 pages! I was out at footie training, so were the depressives out in force? Looks like saints gave them good cause to moan tonight! I think shurlock has given a plausible explanation, so do people agree? I always used to think Gillet was a busy player but he isn't attack minded. Perhaps just unfit?
