Perhaps some of the criticism is due to disappoint in not always seeing what we know he can do, but some of the criticism is excessive. I'm sure he could do a job in a higher division: for starters he'd be surrounded by better players and wouldn't lose the ball by over-elaborating as he waits for support or off-the ball movement. I didn't see the second half but on my dodgy internet feed it was fairly obvious in the first half that we were concentrating on stopping MK, but how different would our opinions be if Antonio had squared the ball to his great and unmarked late run and he'd tucked the ball away. Shame about his grub kick in front of goal, but right place and time, and another day he might have had two. He recently doesn't look as fresh going forward, but he's added defensive strength to his game. For all the criticism, who would we want - and get - as an alternative? He'd be very difficult to replace, in my opinion. Finally, do people really need to make comments such as "complete b*ll*cks written by a total tool"? Express your opinions by all means but personally I think it reflects more on the poster. Completely unnecessary.

Nothing here either. I thought maybe it was an outside of UK thing. -

Hopefully I'll get to see the first half, but there doesn't seem to be a Sopcast or Winmedia thread: what's vshare like: OK and virus free? Then it's out to football training from 9.30 (my time) to 11.15 (aaargh)... -
There'll be queues then..

Hear, hear. Anybody would think that unions calls strikes at the drop of the hat. Unite may have misjudged the length and timing of the last proposed strike, but nothing can be done without the support of the members. Frankly the current entry level salaries are more or less minimum wage. The pilots in the UK are still doing OK, but wait to see what happens when they start to be picked on. A taster here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/jan/11/pilot-exhausting-hours-wages

So you'd rather have an unhappy thin child then?

your joking! -
Only two instances? I reckon they must be sample charges, and he'll ask for 127 other offences to be taken into account...

Good news! Remind me again where Pimply train?

Well, if he'd been a Pom*** player he'd have been well impressed...

The whole point is, it IS relevant: that's why he's so rich. Those of you old enough to remember Reggie Perrin's boss "I didn't get where I am today by ...." fill in your own line. I get the feeling that this regime have a much better handle on costs, cash flows, and general financial competence than the previous lot and, yes, are spending a bit of their own money. I don't think they'll overpay on wages, either, or else will structure payments based on crowds, success etc. I suspect they are pleased with the progress of crowds this season. I know Boxing Day is a bad example, but nearly 31k in the third division!! Plus we are in cups where the crowds have fared _very_ favourably with those for Premiership clubs (look at Boro-Citeh for example). It'll be interesting the impact of new signings. I see we've added another 1200 half-season tickets, and there's a buzz about the place. I wonder if herr Liebherr has a private executive jet (probably not given what I've written above), but if yes maybe I could hitch a lift over from Switzerland.. it all helps the crowd figures..

That seems far too sensible to be a footballer...

I think they've been pretty good, all things considered (quality of the football, recession etc.) and a lot better than many clubs, especially if you look at the FA cup figures; some of which were appalling. Let's face it, it's been depressing to be a Saints fan for a few years now. I get in 3/4 games a year at the start of the season and at Christmas when I'm back in the UK. Exeter was the first win I'd seen in 3+ years! I'm now even vaguely (don't want to be too optimistic) considering my options should it be necessary to get to any important games in May... The signing of Fonte and possibly AN Other should also have a positive impact.

They no doubt already had plans, but it must have been a confirmation of our potential. What do we reckon the crowd will be for the next home game (whenever the weather lets it get played)?

Oooh, technical pun...

Dear Admin, sometimes you just have to relax, and in the circumstances forget the humourless b'stards... well done! Today I went skiing at 8/9000 ft-ish, and that _was_ cold, in spite of 6 layers... and then I started moving, which made it colder. Last night I made the mistake of thinking our post-Xmas footie training was in a gym, but an hour and a half later of fitness training on a snow covered field made me really appreciate the hot showers. I reckon the board should do a snowperson competition, given the current conditions in the UK. Edit: Sorry, not if the OS is doing it as well!!

That depends on the reception, I'd say..... Anyway, I giggled, so main board it is, IMHO.

Why Markus Liebherr should buy Portsmouth Football Club
suewhistle replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
I prefer one liner jokes myself... Let's face it; probably anyone could buy Pompey at the moment with the loose change from the kid's moneybox.. it's the absolutely unknowable debts that go with it that are the problem. -
On various general topics including the FA cup (and the poor crowds - no mention of Saint's crowd though) and Portsmouth - from around 17 minutes. A comment about Storrie "why is he so popular with the fans as he seems completely incompetent...", and more... A few Saints fans commented: there's only one SteveGrant, surely!! http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/audio/2010/jan/04/football-weekly-podcast-leeds-fa-cup-manchester-united-redknapp

I have some Adnams Broadside and Marstons Pedigree in my cantina.. not trying to make you jealous or anything, but looks like I might need it tonight....

I reckon on Schneiderlin.. Well, he's got to score eventually... Hasn't he??

I am going to go and practise on my flute... It worked the last game I tried it and saved lots of refreshing the page and saved my nerves...
