  1. Brilliant. Sums up the fan's experience. LOL
  2. The problem is, we've all seen serious posts like this on the board!
  3. Ahh... just got it all off me chest on Chris Bevan's blog: if it gets past moderation... no reason why it shouldn't.
  4. Sheez, most of us have lost track of who has been a director at pimpley. Not sure they know either: Storrieteller obviously, but who else I really can't remember. Azougy, Al-mirage, some russian, a scared finance director (very briefly)? Any ideas, or shall we just ask HMRC to pay £5 and join the board so that they can contribute?:-))
  5. I reckon they are probably watching this thread over at HMRC. Probably not the seniors, but more junior (but probably still with-it staff) are scanning it, forwarding on some of the more amusing comments... "this one's near the mark", "gawd, he hasn't got a clue" and so-forth. I bet it's amusing them greatly!
  6. ****, lots of these warnings (like virus/scam warnings on the internet) can be pretty dubious, so a pox on the people who cry wolf if it results in others ignoring warnings which are actually valid.
  7. Well, as usual SRS is frothing at the mouth again. One of my nightmares would be being in in the same bedroom: knee jerk reactions and all the subtlety of a dog in heat! Anyway, Labour actually tightened up the situation as there was obvious abuse. But overall colleges like international students because they make money on them. Frankly the biggest problem is getting them up to an adequate level of English! They also come here and spend money here on accommodation, food, transport: I don't remember the latest figures but they make a massive contribution to our awful balance of payments figures.
  8. If it's here again, don't worry, I'd know! I've played on both of the pitches that were probably used, and certainly useful for preparation for L1. The St Vincent one is probably worse, although they might have relaid it since the last major match there - a touring international rugby side! Great area for a holiday, although I'll almost certainly be visiting the UK during pre-season.
  9. My women's side is still training but down to once a week and apart from the warm-up fun stuff, just to ease us gently into the holidays. We normal have a pre-season fitness schedule of 5 times a week for a couple of weeks pre-season. I already feel sluggish only doing one session (and no skiing) so that's going to be tough in August. Anybody need competent crew for their yacht, when my term finishes I have 3 months off?!!
  10. That haven't agreed the final CVA or whatever work of fiction Android comes up with, they have a less than enthusiastic owner who just wants his money back and finally, no official will suggest anything. It's a members club (including Leeds, Luton, Bournemouth, Saints, Hull, Burnley etc.) and they will, ultimately, dictate what the policy will be which the officials will THEN implement. As mentioned above, wait until June....
  11. Incidentally, have they sold all their tickets yet?
  12. Hammers have just sacked Zola, is that grist to the mill of this thread?
  13. Anybody know any Chelsea fans? Could you teach them the chant for Wembley: "Fratton Park is a future block of flats, future block of flats, future block of flats"

    Knees

You'll recover faster!:-) Joking aside, I thank my lucky stars I've had no major knee problems. Your physio should help with specific exercises. I once had an abductor (I think) go twang just after I'd come on as sub a few years ago (always warm up well folks!), against Southampton Red Star, but no problems since. I make sure I take the fitness side seriously, warm up well and do specific knee exercises at home - more for the skiing, but it helps footie too. Speedy recovery mush!
  15. Surprised, I'd be ... well, the sort of language I don't use in public... amazed.
  16. Yeah, it means they don't know either, but it makes a better story without having to get any facts through, you know, proper journalism.
  17. I think we need a t-shirt for users of the board. "I am an SWF obsessive": in three versions: one with Pessimist on the back, one with Optimist and one with FFS. I'll leave you decide who will get which one... I still treasure my 'Let's go The Dell' t-shirt from the old Saintslist. I don't remember quite so many nutters on that list, but I suppose that's the democratisation of the web for you. Even Pimply has forums these days!
  18. Can't be. You didn't say "FACT".

  20. To see a record cup final score??:-)
  21. Just had a quick look through the p2p stuff to see what the scores were. Not one stream in any format showing the everton v pompey thread. heh heh, welcome to non-premiership anonymity (and income). You're going to have to rely more on your gate income now... Oh.
  22. A youth team player on 130k per annum?! I saw a similar list for West Ham and their young players, albeit with a squad number, were on 400 a week, £20,800 a year, which seems a bit more like it.
  23. Perhaps they didn't think there was any threat. perhaps they have more sense than you, or than you give them credit for?

    Knees

Knees are a pain. I'm lucky as I've never had real problems and at 55 I'm still playing off the bench (and training twice a week). But I also ski regularly, so have pretty strong muscles around the knees and thigh, which probably helps. If I can afford it I might try and do a bit of riding this summer, and of course cycling always helps. Whatever else it is definitely worth doing additional knee strengthening exercises.
