  1. Unlike Trousers not to post at least duplicates of every post, so I'm still worried..
  2. If he's a big city boy he may want to stay in The Smoke.
  3. I think 5 is our new record!
  4. It will no doubt happen. I'll just wait for MLG, or QuebecSaint.. ๐Ÿ™‚
  5. 20 appearances! ๐Ÿ™‚
  6. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks. New on me. When the restart happens it'll be pizza and The Guide Dog!
  7. I think Juve must be one of the few Italian teams to pay those sorts of wages. Many players in Italy would jump at the salaries offered over here. What Southampton needs is a decent Italian restaurant and a wood-fired pizzeria to attract them along with the wages...
  8. Market exposure of what though? There was no obvious product or service even, and everything that was available in the public domain was amateurish in the extreme, hence all the reservations on here. The usual rule in these matters is follow the money. From a Harry Redknapp transfer deal, to the purchase of Carillo to this affair it would be interesting to see the money flows..

  10. Wasn't it just. "Sports industry observers are now questioning Southamptonโ€™s rationale for selling a key sponsorship asset to an unknown brand." Mind you, so were us fans. They really do take us for fools sometimes.. It's even made The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/aug/25/southampton-say-no-alternative-but-to-ditch-shirt-sponsor-ld-sports
  11. Surely if those players are involved the money will mean 3 out and 1 in?
  12. Yes, again very slow today, and that's just getting in in the first place: no specific sub-forum. Very frustrating for all concerned and I presume Steve is now bald!
  13. ๐Ÿ™‚ I saw Bobby Stokes score at Burnden Park and then had to pretend my team had just lost as we walked back to the coaches...
  14. I know what you mean, and he seems to have a very high opinion of himself and what wages he wants (or his agent wants). Fair enough, but we saw from Hoedt's example that brash self-belief isn't always a good thing. I think any wage offer would have to be conditional on some performance criteria. He says he wants to play in the premier league, but I can't help feeling that is because it pays so well and why the German deals have broken down.
  15. What about Shearer? I watched his debut!
  16. You'd have made a good Italian courtier in the Renaissance. Now where's my copy of The Prince..
  17. It's not the effing travelling, it's the consequences for goodness sake. Like those Aberdeen players who went out to a crowded Saturday night bar in the centre: not illegal but stupid. Besides, it's not what you (or I) think, it's what your employers think and your contract says. There's lot's of things you might not think unreasonable behaviour, hence my slightly over-he-top comparison, but best not to test the point.
  18. They could certainly advise you and tell you that you won't be paid if your behaviour is unreasonable. They can't stop you murdering your wife, for example, but would be able to sack you for the consequences. ๐Ÿ˜‰ You might be able to work from Wormwood Scrubs instead of from home, but they'd still get you for bringing the company into disrepute: it's in loads of contracts!
  19. It hasn't been very good today. This is the first time I've been able to get beyond the forum home page in fact.. As I type I've just tried on my phone and got a bad gateway message. Off to try an old ipad.. yep, bad gateway.. The above message was written earlier and copied, which was lucky as I got bad gateway when I tried to send it. It really is pretty unusable most of the time I'm afraid. Edit: but it did actually send. It's all very random.

  21. Article in The Guardian, I presume..
  22. It was an observation I made at the time, that he had a bit of a pot, to general agreement when it was pointed out. I'd also agree that Obafemi is another that seems less than professional both from RH's comments and from a poster's personal knowledge of him.
  23. LOL. Drinking on a Monday night?
  24. Hah! Step 7 in women's football plays at the local rec and if the mums, dads, boyfriends and girlfriends space out they could manage 10 metres between individuals! We're training in small groups and get our temperature checked before sessions. I think with everything to do with the situation it's a question of reducing risk. There will always be some, and the difficulty is weighing those risks up, particularly in the light of inadequate information. I read newspapers from Europe and was locking down well before this government had even woken up to the realisation that they had responsibilities..
  25. I went on the OS to buy my season ticket as my credit card statement has just passed and saw the good news. It will be good news if I actually get to see many games, but what the heck..
