  1. Oh, and this is for Batman: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/12/health-expert-brands-uks-coronavirus-response-pathetic
  2. Except he can't. We've got less than half the number of intensive care beds that other nations in Europe have, a low number of doctors per 1000 population and in Italy they are already having to triage on the basis of who will benefit and has got most years left. My aged parent with issues won't stand a chance.
  3. There's a COBRA meeting tomorrow and it could be that they introduce 'distancing' measures..
  4. What's it like now? What's Levy's face like..
  5. Expensive way to learn a lesson, but I thought he was better than ok going forward and I agree. He didn't need to be told he'd made a mistake and nor did Djenepo.
  6. LOL, I think I went to the same games...
  7. Not a good time to be looking for a job in the airline industry and SOU can't survive on a few charter flights and GA. I hardly fly at all these days, the last time was to see Saints in Milan. The time before that was from SOU to Edinburgh for a wedding. I looked in to using the train but it was far, far more expensive than flying, and that is another issue that needs to be addressed in this country. It's even worse for places like Exeter which are more out on a limb than Southampton.
  8. Who, Factless Allen as he's known here?
  9. So is our Prime Minister, it would appear, although it could just be laziness and fear of the public. I had an urgent translation to do this afternoon for a sporting event: amongst the contents were a new media regime, interviewers keeping 1.5 metres of more from the athletes, no hand shaking, boom microphones or changing microphone covers after each interview, separation of participants and their teams etc.
  10. The general consensus near me yesterday was that neither did he or his team mates..
  11. Well at least he won't have to run around and not keep up with play..
  12. But how are they doing in the league? I come here for insight and my management summary, for goodness sake.
  13. Noble? Not on footballing grounds obvs, just that he's so dislikeable.
  14. Well, it's warm in this 'ere 'spoons. Plenty of Burnley fans: the ones I spoke to are staying overnight. Doesn't look to bad outside, just a bit breezy..
  15. It would be strange to be a bit tiddly during the day without a football match to watch, but you might as well complete your journey and have a few pints. Personally I might do a bit of shopping, a new rain jacket without a dodgy zip springs to mind. I don't suppose the George V playing fields at Winchester will be playable on Sunday?! Joking aside, I can't think that many games will be played apart from the top level ones.
  16. That's a bit rich from someone who if they don't have a thread to weigh in on to complain about equality, muslim sex offenders, minorities, gays, trans etc, will start their own one. As for complaining about vitriol, from what I've seen it's the right who actually resort to violence, direct on line twitter abuse and so forth. The worst you have to fear is a milkshake. I don't think I've ever seen you post a nice or empathic post on here.
  17. Well, I normally get the train coming from Sussex way and my bigger concern is trees on the line, again.. I'll certainly be checking beforehand. It might be just as well we're playing at 12.30. Might take a toothbrush in case I get stranded in Soton..
  18. Talking of Sean Dyche and Burnley... https://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2020/feb/11/david-squires-on-the-trouble-with-the-premier-league-winter-break
  19. Found a bar in Italy and they put it on for me. An impressive half apart from our finishing. I can't maintain my usual stressed drinking pace with this fizzy beer though..
  20. Let's hope it backfires and he manages to score with three of his screamers at row A rather than row Z..
  21. How many corners did Palace get? How many shots on target? That was a whole squad performance tonight but a shout out for the defence too.
  22. and my stream is well delayed and heard about the goal first here!
  23. Well, that was an enjoyable half but I've made a cuppa ready for my second half disappointment if we can't maintain that pace and pressing.. Vestergard's brain fart apart we've been ok at the back so far and both CBs have made some good forward passes including through the lines which is always riskier. Maybe the midfielders are making more space today.
  24. Steve Grant is being rude to Hoedt on Twitter: I can't believe that :-), but it's made The Guardian preview..
  25. You actually work? I just assumed you were a mad, retired old codger considering how much you go on about the subject. I do apologise for some of my assumptions..
