My suspicion is that he is rankled by manoeuvrings from Victor Wanyama and Mane, who are both agitating for a move and he feels powerless to prevent this, especially when they resort to being late or getting sent off to get their way. Also, the dawning realisation that the premier is tough. PS we have always beaten the good teams and lost to the rubbish ones as long as I can remember. Maybe Mourinho is being lined up? (Joke)

Amazing result, even including Vic's Arsenal trial during the game. Special mention to Ward-Prowse, who I thought was excellent. Clasie also superb, and Long a real handful. Much better without a big immobile bloke up front forcing us to play it in the air and bypass the midfield. Most important though was that they had fight.

I think we need to strengthen the defence, particularly in the centre. When Fonte doesn't play it's only a matter of time. Oh, and a defensive midfielder to protect them, because Wanyama is just a bit disinterested/off. Then we could do with a goal scorer. So in summary, defence, midfield and attack. Might need a keeper too.

Really hope this isn't true. Have always thought him a headless chicken type. Or worse that it is part of a deal to sign one of our better ones

Manage your expectations. We're very low on confidence and they will see this as a way of turning their season around. Will not want to visit here if we lose, and that is entirely possible.

They were about 6-1 better than us in technical ability, leadership, spirit and wages.

I learnt that we are a mid-table Prem club with players we rent for two or three years, when the manager moves on and the process starts again. And that we have okay runs in the cup before fizzling out. Also, that it's difficult explaining to my son, who went to bed with us one up, when he asked this morning: 'how did that happen?'

We need to spend some big money on another no-nonsense rock of a centre half because when Fonte is out we are all at sea. Oh, and another good holding midfielder. We need to first become hard to beat. This is the foundation of Spurs' latest good run (not unhelped by nicking Toby off us)

Can't help thinking that this slump is because of the onset of the transfer window and perhaps some players now not giving their all for fear of injury and ruining their little moves. What else could explain Wanyama's sudden attitude and lack of oomph? Or maybe he just doesn't give a toss.

As I said, was not optimistic.
