We have always been rubbish against rubbish. Always will be.

I watched Lambert closely on Saturday and felt he didn't really put in a big shift, almost as if he wanted to avoid injury and thoughts were elsewhere. Perhaps Newcastle. Really hope not, but just a nagging worry. This is a hugely important window for us. Think we looked very thin.

Thank the Lord. An essential buy, along with a 'take game by scruff of the neck' midfielder (to cover when Chappers is injured) and foil for Lambert. Oh, and another centre half.

Most of the game Guly did his jogging back from an offside position thing. No movement, very little passing, lost control of the ball a lot, missed important through balls, but scored two nod ins. Surely would have been subbed just before his second. I'd have taken him off at half time. Mind you, Connelly looked very rusty. Oh well, can remember another player who used to drift in and out of games and win them with a bit of le genius...

Guly was terrible. Lambert looked like he was off. Flat game. But hey. 3 points.
