As a referee myself, I'm really looking forward to seeing these decisions on replay. I know all to well about fan over-reaction and bias so I'm trying not to "jump to conclusions". However I see myself as a good referee who tries blaady hard every game, and have a wee ambition to maybe referee in the FL one day. So maybe if they're crap, i've a better chance of getting in!!?!

Sparked some debate on the game thread this, but how does everyone think Cortese reacted to today's result? And did he intentionally splash the cash to get us promoted this season? I fear, that he thinks he has failed and that he may come down on Pardew. He will know the comparitive cost of the squads and that a loss at Tranmere should have been "incomprehendable". Will he keep calm, is the pressure on Pardew, and are we in the right frame of mind to go up next season?

I actually think he did. What worries me even more is that the likes of Fonte also saw it this way, especially when he joined. Him staying is paramount to our success next season.

At least we can know that the players will be punished for this, unlike last season. Pardew will be furious, Cortese will be steaming and the players embarrassed, considering how crap and puny Tranmere are. Even if we manage a draw, the players are in for a killer week on the training ground!!!

This is super disappointing. The skates win, Saints set to LOSE!!! Pardew has got it perfect at home but for some reason we don't seem to be mentally correct when we play away!!! On the other hand, will be interesting to see the penalty decision in the coming days...

If Tranmere try and sit back and hold out for a point, I think we will still win this.

We're gonna need an open game to score, so i'm all for a bit of end to end. We have a better keeper and better strikers, so we will score more often

You could go into another room, watch an episode of Eastenders, slump back on to your internet connection and still be in time to read how Saints managed to claim another 3 points...

If we use that as an excuse, I think Pardew and the boys have a mental problem with any ground outside of SMS!!!

If we win our two games in hand on Huddersfield we're not too far behind them you know... still a massively unlikely chance but at least we still have a chance! I don't think this result has truly sunk in yet... we're awesome at home!!

An extremely positive result, which takes us to about 8 consecutive home wins against League 1 opposition (inc Norwich JPT & an approximate value) Looking forward to the highlights on Saints Player, hoping we can keep the players, and anticipating a League title in 10/11!!!

Blow, what happens if we concede in the 34th minute against Huddersfield? FFS, I would never forgive Pardew for conceding goals between the 30th and 35th minutes. Everyone knows you don't concede goals in that time!!!

I can't believe Bart has stayed around so long to be honest, and lets face it, he can't be earning much now!!! You may know this or may not, but Bart is our current longest serving player... Being in Australia, i've only seen us at Brentford and v Stockport this season so I can't really judge what Bart brings to the team ahead of KD. But i'm sure we have two of the top two goalkeepers in this division
