But it can't in any way be satisfactory or acceptable for it to be a spectacle. The prizes and rewards are huge and should be competed for on a level playing field, rather than one where there is bias towards the big teams because it is perceived that these will generate more income for Sky, BT, the press et al. The integrity of the game is seriously under threat if the rules cannot be enforced consistently for fear of spoiling the spectacle. One of the things I hear that annoys me most is criticism of a referee for "spoiling" a game by (correctly) sending a player off. Or robbing the spectators of the experience of watching a star player. It seems to me that there is bias against sending off certain players - the Rooneys, Ronaldos etc - because it is p perceived that the public have come to see them and it has a major effect on the outcome if the game. So referees don't dare enforce the laws strictly or penalise star players for fear of ending up with a seven a side game or suffering the baying criticism of the media with their adulation of the "elite" teams. But unless this is addressed we will continue on a very slippery slope with the game losing credibility as a fair sport. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

That would be a real turn-up for the books. Bit worried that Reed can get shirty, but maybe we could play Austin in the pocket. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

Except in the penalty area, where full wrestling holds will be allowed. Refereeing is in a total mess. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

He seems to struggle to play every game, may have a knock and I think was first choice replacement for VW when he was last suspended. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

Agreed if Targett and Davis fit. Otherwise Yoshida for Targett, JWP or Tadic for Davis. Could also see JWP for Clasie. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

Logically, he didn't do a good enough job, but WHam and Clattenburg helped him. But seriously, although I don't think it should have been a red, he didn't need to make the tackle. It's a clear weakness that when he loses a tackle, he also loses his cool. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

That was one of the best defensive rearguard operations I can remember from a Saints team. No doubt people will recall others, but with 10 men it was a fantastic effort. Mostly cool and organised - few shots on target - and so many of the team showed passion and ran themselves into the ground to make sure we held on. It's great what a few good results can do, comparing this with the way heads were regularly dropping before Christmas every time we conceded. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

Not sure about him on the left. Maybe JWP or Tadic but l would start with a back four and if we're chasing the game later, go to a back three and move Mané to wing back with any combination of Long, Tadic, Pelle and Austin up front. Or all of them. That would be fun. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk -

Shame Targett is out. I think the 3 5 2 works against their setup. Just pray we're not tempted to play it with Yoshida. Not sure either that anyone else can step in at Left Wing Back so guess it will be a back 4. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk -

Likewise but if that were needed for Saints to get into Europe, would be mixed feelings. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

Just for amusement, factor in Liverpool or Spurs winning the Europa League. That would give them a Champions League place. Would there then be an extra CL place for England? In any case, if say Liverpool finish 5th and win Europa, that must free up a Europa place. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
