Out on a limb but I thought the first half was good football. Both sides playing it around well but both defending well too. Up until their gold was optimistic. Then we went back three months into unimpressive mode and I didn't expect the equaliser. But credit to JWP for being there and finishing well. Then we could have won, but they were very dangerous still on the break and we stopped them well. Reasonably happy with a point. I don't think it's just a question of us not playing well: they stopped us very effectively. Not McCarthy's best game, but wouldn't criticise him unduly for the goal. Targett was ok. CBs very strong, as they had to be. I thought Valery had a great game. Tough ask and he was up to it. Hojbjerg and Romeu had their work cut out but weren't overrun. JWP may have struggled to find the killer forward pass - that's why Armstrong came on - but he had a solid game in two positions, and scored. Redmond had moments, but didn't quite click. The results weren't that bad really. Newcastle got the headlines and it does put them above us, but a win tonight will put that right. Fulham will win the odd game like this, but I think they're too fragile in defence to survive. And it served to make Brighton edgy. They're not out of it Otherwise, Huddersfield and Cardiff lost as expected. Burnley got an unexpected point but will have put a lot into that game and will be demoralised by letting a two goal lead go in five minutes. It's not must-win on Saturday, but it is a big six-pointer. Winner will have breathing space, loser could be back in the proverbial. A draw won't be a disaster. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

They get annoyed because they've been sucked into the false hysteria generated, mainly by Sky, trying to make it important to spend as much as possible.
