This topic got me researching a couple of other names who I really don't know what happened to (Phil Warner and Paul Murray), and I came across this link: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2001/aug/16/sport.comment2 I never realised that Moyes accepted the Saints job, or is this just BS?

To be fair I was running out of ideas for those 2 positions. Having just sprung to mind, may I swap Slater with Mark Walters?
-
Top mid-nineties saints crap XI? I'd go with something like: Woods Todd Marshall Dryden Potter Slater Reid Venison Warren Dia Johansen How much would that team get done by?
-
Who else is in there? Scott Marshall?
-
Something that I must have forgotten - stunned to just read up we paid 850k for Todd! That must go down as one of the biggest wastes of money in club history.

A bit later than that I think, I'm sure he was a Merrington or Souness. I remember seeing him score for us in a pre-season friendly at Cheltenham just after he arrived in a 3-1 victory at Whaddon Road, which I seem to remember was arranged as part of a deal for another signing that didn't come off - Christer Warren. That's about it though!

You can watch live on the ITV website. Can't you watch there, being in the UK?

What does Mr Miyagi do when he's bored? Wax off. *stolen from A+J show

Nope, I'm quite sure it's The Hawthorns (league ground that is, highest non-league is Buxton).

Cirencester Town at the Corinium Stadium, basically the field next door to the school I went to, would be extremely surreal!

Glad someone singled out Hammond, I thought he was fantastic, very slick passing and swung over some lovely crosses (for Lambo's goal and the chance that Papa poked just wide), as well as working well to break up play. Very impressed.

I think it was 13:00 till 18:30, but I annoyingly arrived an hour late.

I went with my old man for the Brentford game. Pros: The seats you get are extremely comfortable, and you can have a good nosy at Mr. Liebherr and whatever guests he has invited along. The post-match interview with the MoTM is pretty interesting, and you should get the chance to have a natter with the man in question, get him to sign any autographs for the kids, etc. Easy to get a pint at half-time. There's some good competitions to enter for prizes and the Saints quiz they did was pretty fun. Parking was included (I think!). Cons: When we went I think it was still in trial phase, and they hadn't provided enough seating for people to sit and eat. Beer is fairly expensive, and although they had pumps for cider, when I went it was just Tetley's and Carlsberg available (and some expensive bottled stuff). Food is a fairly basic cold buffet, though what they did have was nice for what it was. Atmosphere wasn't up too much, think some people were a little bit disappointed with it (were expecting more), and in fact received a letter through the post a week later apologising, saying they were still experiencing teething problems with this new format, which they would be working on... All in all, I think it's just about worth it, just don't expect it to be a big swish affair. It is fairly basic, but an interesting insight and certainly an enjoyably different way of taking in a Saints game, and not outrageously expensive.

Saints, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Leeds. £5 bet won me £35. Not bad for my first acca of the season.

Surely this is bad news for our hopes of keeping him on loan much longer: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/middlesbrough/8257190.stm Is there a call back option? PS. Sorry if posted elsewhere, couldn't find it.

If it involves the Poles I would hazard a guess at Saga. I remember Mandaric being very keen on getting him to sign for Leicester after his loan spell with us.
-
Yep, saw Coppell there, but he was sat on his own throughout the whole match not talking to anyone, I presumed he just took the opportunity to watch his old club Brentford, as he appears to live fairly local, and he's obviously welcome down here, being as this is not the first time he's popped in...
-
Thought he looked decent. FYI he won the Saints Man of the Match award-thingy where they do the presentations in the hospitality section. He also won MOM in the "League Paper" write up...

Main problem for me today: Not once did we get the ball to or near the byline. IMO, we need to get in behind the full backs and get some decent crosses in. Brentford did, and when they did they looked dangerous (inc. their goal, of course). Thompson is definitely not the answer, neither is Lallana, and on today's showing neither is Mellis. So, Pardew, good signings so far in Lambert, Harding, Murty, Trotman and Hammond, but please bring a winger or two and I think we can start shooting up this league.

Think if we manage to get the want-away Rasiak and Saga off the wage bill before the transfer window closes we should look at buying or loaning Joe Garner from Forest. With all their strikers (DMG, Earnshaw, Adebola, Dexter, Tyson) I can't see him getting much of a look in, and has looked good when I have seen him (great goal against us I remember) and had a very decent record for Carlisle at this level.

Wouldn't mind this being true, but doesn't this just smack of the bloke's Saints supporting mate getting his Deans that used to play under Wilkins at Brighton mixed up?
-
Maybe we can take Lisbie off their hands while we're at it.
-
This. Can't say I'll miss his face on the TV though. Always has me reaching for the contrast button!
