Alps, why are you so belligerent? Genuine question. You're very arrogant and condescending when anyone's opinion is different to yours and almost always resort to ridiculing their opinion rather than giving your own some substance. Fair enough, it's why few take you seriously these days, but it's annoying to then get "Report To Moderator" emails from you everytime someone gives a bit back. Can you not live and let live a little and respect others and their opinions a bit more?
Fair enough really. A couple of hours is plenty for anyone browsing the megastore or buying tickets and it would cost SFC a bundle for staff to park free in the city. Isn't there some ridiculous tax on that now, or something?
Yeah, I meant it was harsh because I'd definitely seen encroachment during Paraguay's but hadn't really noticed it when Alonso stepped up. With you on the Fabregas pen too.
Syd, Chris, Duck, Alps... We're clearly never going to come at this debate from the same direction so we should probably let it lie now. However, it's been fun.
That actually makes sense, Steve. The bit about 0-0 results, anyway. Now, I'd better go and edit some results to show Saints score first, else I'd be challenging a few others on here for negativity.
I see enough arbitrary changes of established punishments (to keep someone else happy) by the FIA to last me a lifetime. I could do without it creeping into football too.
Anyone find it odd that the South American teams looked mighty in the groups but they're dropping like flies now? Uruguay only through because of that penalty miss and Paraguay (seemingly) unlikely to get past Spain... It's looking increasingly like an all European final. Not what most of us would have predicted.
OK, serious answer... I don't think any players, with the possible exception of David Villa, have hit the sort of form we know they can.
On that basis, I pick David Villa as the standout player so far.
