How exactly has he bought justice?
-
For what it’s worth (probably not a lot) Merson in Soccer Saturday thinks it’s a really positive move and thinks it could mean the owners bringing in their own people and actually spend some money. I guess if you’re going to invest it makes sense to have the right set up in place first.

If he’s been found guilty then we can only assume he is, just like we should assume the Evans verdict is correct. Only the people in the court room have all the facts.

I can only genuinely remember a handful of racist comments watching Saints, that doesn’t mean it is not a problem elsewhere tho, Chelsea clearly have a bigger problem than most. Even back in the Dell days when I heard racist comments it was generally shouted down by more reasonable fans. The only comment I can remember at St Mary’s was when a black opposition player went down injured and someone shouted “quick, someone get him some fried chicken”, there probably were others but I can definitely say I have heard way more and way worse outside of football. You have to support the Kick it out campaigns because any racism is a bad thing. My only issue is that it paints football as being some sort of racist hell where in reality it is no different to anywhere else. In fact thinking about it, some of the worst racism I can remember hearing was at The Rose Bowl when a bunch of Asian cricket fans chanted “what’s the colour of your skin” to Monty Panasaar. Football players come from all around the world, players of any race, religion or nationality are idolised by fans up and down the country. When I was a kid there were no black people at my school, racist jokes were the norm, my parents generation racism was generally tolerated yet my hero was Danny Wallace. Football is way more diverse than many other parts of our society.

Was a Liverpool fan a few rows behind me in block 42. Took a lot of grief in the first half, then start of the second got wacked by someone then flung out by the stewards. Stupid ****.

This, and particularly the fact that the older generations views on Europe are very much influenced by the War. Even my generation grew up with the Germans being the bogey men, when I was younger 'Germans' = the bastards who bombed my nan's house and killed my great uncle.

No-one is saying it's OK, I'm definitely not. Anyone who throws racist abuse around is clearly an idiot.
-
It is obviously being racist but insults are part of football. For example singing "you fat bastard" at a slightly overweight footballer is just banter - going up to someone randomly in the the street and calling them a fat bastard is very different.
-
I'm pretty sure he's aware of the context. I think his point is that players are generally abused because they play for the opposition, not because of their race (even if it is a racist insult). It doesn't make it right, but it's a bit different to going up to someone in the street and insulting them because of their race.

I've seen more racism at work or down the pub than at football. To be honest in about 30 years of supporting Saints I could count on one hand the amount of racist chants I've heard at the Dell or St Mary's. EUFA should come down harder on those Eastern European c*nts though.
-
Agree with this, St Mary's needs to be more hostile. The more abuse any Liverpool player gets the better.

9 hours and the best they could come up with is ‘try and pin it on Corbyn’.

Best league in world but probably worst officials - Warnock

I reckon refs in other countries also make mistakes. -
Yeah, it's obvious he agonised real hard, the way he went from boycotting to full on placard-waving pr!ck in one fell swoop.

There isn’t a majority in Parliament for anything. The Deal on the table is pretty much as good as it will get, maybe amend it to Ken Clarke’s proposal and put it to the country and take the whole thing out of Parliament’s hands. If the country still wants to leave it takes effect the day after the referendum and the government negotiates the trade deal going forward.
-
It got rejected by 58 votes, wasn’t even close.
-
It was obviously discussed but it wasn’t exactly high up the agenda, whereas now it is a major issue. I’ve never once mentioned Goldman Sachs you bellend. You are just wrong all the time on here aren’t you?
-
Leave on the deal.
-
The NI issue is reason enough to have a second refurendum, it was barely mentioned before the last vote.
-
Parliament is just not working. A people's vote is the obvious way forward.
-
Now I guess Boris will suddenly decide he wants to be PM and with the deal already signed and sealed he can blame it all on May when things go **** shaped.
-
Looked like all sorts for the pics I saw, plenty of non-white faces.

True, but it's still a lot clearer what Brexit means now than back in 2016. It's not about anyone winning or losing, it's about us deciding what's best for our country. If Brexit makes us poorer we all lose.

I will have to read it. What was their theory on how they disposed of the body?
-
Just watched the Netflix series and also found it a bit boring. Well produced but nothing really new in it just lots of moody shots of the resort. The dog evidence does raise a few questions but the idea that the McCanns did it then calmly went and had tapas with their doctor mates is just nonsense, especially as being on holiday without a car means they had no means of disposing of the body. The one interesting thing in the programme was the fact that they had made a block booking of the tapas restaurant, which meant that anyone who knew that would also know that their kids were alone in their apartment at that same time each night. I wouldn’t be surprised if the abductor knew this somehow. I can’t believe they left three young kids home alone like that, they should have got done for neglect.
