Play-offs are easily in target, 7 points with 20 games left when you have a billionaire in charge should be no problem. A couple of quality signings in January and we should romp it in the second half of the season. The problem is the play-offs are a lottery, if we reach them it's a 1 in 4 chance so the odds are still against us going up IMO.

It has to be Avram Grant, from the Mail... "The Mail cannot give the location of the massage parlour since it would help identify the football manager."
-
Don't worry, no half decent sized football club will ever cease to exist. We will still hate you the same when you are Portsmouth & Havant & Waterlooville United in the Blue Square - the rivallry will still be there, just much funnier for us.

Did they ever announce how much was made/lost from that Saints Aid fiasco? I've heard people are still owed money.

For queen and country this Xmas and new year

If a bunch of Suicidal Jihadists get hold of a nukes then our nukes are not exactly a deterrant are they? -

It is probably a sound argument to say they are a deterrant but there is no need to buy new ones, a bunch of old nukes that might not work is still a deterrant, I today's world I would rather spent the cash on something else and take the risk, being part of NATO is enough of a deterrant IMO. -
No, Solar activity has decreased (scientists measure this you know) and the Earth's orbit influence is over 100,000's of years.
-
I'm guessing solar activity, volcanic activity or wobbles in the Earths orbit.
-
Solar activity is probably the main influence on the earth's temperature but during the recent warming, the sun has actually decreased in strength.

Try these... http://climate.nasa.gov/keyIndicators/ http://hadobs.metoffice.com/hadcrut3/diagnostics/comparison.html
-
Of course that is fact, it's also a fact that something caused those things in the past (changes in solar activity, volcanic activity and changes in the Earths orbit). Whilst these things are a mystery to you and me, they are things scientists understand and measure yet not one national body of scientists in the World have come up with a theory to explain the rise other than an increase in CO2. There is always a chance they are wrong but it would be foolish to ignore them considering the possible outcome.
-
I think you will find that the scientific community is very open to alternative theories as long as they have some basis in science and not born through some political agenda. Whilst the world's scientists generally agree with the man made climate change theory there is massive disagreement when it comes to the severity of it and the time-scales involved and there is always a chance that the world's climate will adapt to the increased CO2 and regulate itself. The facts are: CO2 and other greenhouse gases absorb more heat from the sun. CO2 and other greenhouse gases are being pumped out in millions of tons a year by us. There has been a sharp increase in temperature in the last half a century which SOMETHING has caused. The recent sharp increase does not tie in with natural variations like solar activity, volcanic activity and changes in earths orbit. The last half a century has seen a massive increase in CO2 due to man. There is a link between CO2 and temperature of the planet. Now if you're a scientist and you can come up with an alternative theory to man made climate change you will win a nobel prize and save every government around the world a fortune.

Fair play to Rage.
-
Easily a striker, if Lambert got injured our play-off hopes would vanish in an instant.
-
To be honest, whilst I agree that man made climate change is happening (I actually agree with the scientists who predict it to be worse than most think - they are generally the ones who have appeared to been right before) from a selfish point of view I am not really that worried. 1. It is ****ing freezing cold outside, I'd prefer it to be warmer. 2. The UK is very likely to be one of the countries least effected and might actually be one of the countries who benefit from a warmer climate.
-
Same as the X Factor single then.
-
I don't think the song goes "**** you I will do whatever clever marketing tells me" Call me cynical but this Rage thing could just be a viral campaign, how funny would it be if it turned out to be Cowell's doing?
-
It is ironic that all the people buying the Rage Against the Machine are just pouring money into the same pot as those buying the X Factor single.

Two thirds of global temperature data comes from ocean records, free of UHI effect. For land records, urban trends are compared to nearby rural data - anomalous urban trends are homogenized to match rural records. However, in most cases, the urban temperature trend is observed to be little different to the rural trend.

You might want to inform NASA of your ground breaking news (probably best go into detail and explain them a bit more), this is their current findings... "Global surface air temperatures rose three-quarters of a degree Celsius (almost one and a half degrees Fahrenheit) in the last century, but at twice that amount in the past 50 years. Eleven of the last 12 years (1995-2006) are the warmest since accurate recordkeeping began in 1850. The oceans have absorbed much of this increased heat, with the top 700 meters (about 2,300 feet) of ocean showing warming of 0.18 degrees Fahrenheit since 1955." I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure NASA also use satellites and stuff, they are obviously not as advanced as yours tho. Also, I covered the Heat Island Effect in GCSE geography, I am shocked to find out NASA and all the World's leading scientists have not heard of it. Probably worth informing them about that too.

Why do you persist in turning it into a political issue - all the main parties agree with climate change you retard.
-
I prefer Bart, better on crosses and better distribution.
-
Exactly, they have to face up to the fact that the Airline industry has gone through dramatic changes in recent years. It's a simple case of adapt or die and like in many industries it means the workers might have to accept worse conditions and less pay.
-
I think unions are dated, they were a great idea when kids were being sent down the mines for 12 hours a day and a job was for life, but now things have moved on. If you don't like your job you are free to get another one with conditions that suit you. If the BA cabin staff are so hard done by there must be plenty of other companies with better pay and conditions. If not then they have nothing to moan about.
-
I can see them getting 4 wins out of that lot - if they improve.
