  1. We need to eat, wether we need to eat meat is a different debate altogether. I think people who hunt for sport are t@ssers as well, it takes a special type of t@sser to butcher a dolphin or whale though IMO, unless they depend on them for their existence.
  2. Not really, in the UK we kill cows for food. In Japan they kill cows for food and butcher thousands of dolphins. There is a difference there, there is nothing stopping us butchering dolphins, we just dont do it because we are not as cruel.
  3. The Japanese are cruel people, they proved that in the war.
  4. Pompey won't go bust until after the transfer window at the earliest, no decent asset stripper would pull the plug whilst there are still some players to be sold.
  5. True but CO2 is a significant greenhouse gas, which we are pumping out billions of tons of and is linked to the temperature of the planet. Just because there are other greenhouse gasses how does that make CO2 not a greenhouse gas?
  6. The climate has always changed, but it has changed for a reason (solar cycles, shifts in the earth's orbit, volcanoes etc). These are things scientists observe and measure and the vast majority think they cannot account for the recent warming. CO2 absorbs heat more than the other gasses in our atmosphere - FACT CO2 levels have been linked directly to temperature thoughout the Earth's history - FACT Humans are pumping out billions of tons of it - FACT Much is still to be learned about the effects of man's CO2 but many experts predict a catastrophic outcome, it would be very foolish just to ignore these facts and hope the scientists are wrong when common sense says they are not.
  7. This is quite worrying, or not at all depending on wether you are right or left wing.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8437703.stm
  8. I think it's a mistake to mix the science of climate change with politics, the two are completely separate. Every government on the planet (apart from only Saudi Arabia I think) recognize that man is effecting the climate, that cannot be a right or left wing agenda, it's just science. Where they do mix is in how we combat it, as long as all the world's countries are competing against one another on a global market there will NEVER be any effective change - the only way for change is by working together for the benefit of everyone and government control, that is what the right wing are finding so hard to come to terms with.
  9. Lazy teachers, that's the problem, the roads round Southampton are fine.
  10. Also if they go into admin now would they still get their parachute payments or would the PL just give to their football creditors?
  11. Better to re-use your free carrier bags than buy these "bags for life" and then buy other bags for lining your bin etc. A bit anal I know but it is annoying seeing these dumb tarts load up their 4x4s with their eco bags thinking they are saving the planet.
  12. How long can a club not bother to pay their players before something is done about it?
  13. Gaydamak is probably the biggest creditor so if they go into admin he will decide who buys it - I think. The problem is it looks like the ground is secured on another debt so he probably wont have any say in what happens to that.
  14. True, if that happened we would be screwed. Fact is, though scientists are pretty much agreed that man made climate change is happening, they don't appear to have a clue when it comes to predicting the effects - which is all the more reason to stop pumping out CO2. On a positive note there is always the chance that the earth's natural cycles even out the effect man has had, much will be learnt in the next few years IMO.
  15. Whilst this cold snap doesn't mean anything with regards to a warming climate, it does pose the question - Do we in the UK really care if the climate gets warmer? It is a selfish point of view but whilst millions could die in Africa, America and Asia, from what I've read there is a good chance we could be one of climate change's winners.
  16. Notice the Premier League have slightly changed their stance... "The Times understands that the League will base its decision on the overall financial health of the club rather than simply whether debts have been paid." Even if they pay their debts off to the other PL clubs they will still have the embargo - the PL basically want shot of pompey, they are dragging their brand through the gutter.
  17. I doubt Islam4UK would get very far honouring Taliban dead through their village.
  18. Of course some people speak out against extremism but not nearly enough when you think about the fuss made about things like the cartoon issue. This site obviously has an agenda http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/ but certain things do ring true.... "On 9/11, nineteen devout Muslims believed they had a religious mandate to fly planes into buildings and slaughter thousands of innocent people. The Muslim world erupted with outrage over this horrible act of mass murder. Massive demonstrations were held in nearly every Muslim country and Western city. At these demonstrations, Muslim leaders harshly denounced Islamic terror and shared the many hundreds of verses from the Qur'an that encourage universal brotherhood, peace and tolerance. A slew of fatwas and clerical condemnations against terror soon followed. Tens of millions of ordinary Muslims also reacted by rallying against violence and demanding that their leaders root out and eliminate the Islamic terrorists and their supporters. These same Muslims and their clerics called for introspection and atonement, accepting the role that the radical elements of their religion played in the attacks, and committing themselves to combating and eradicating the misinterpretation of their religion - the Religion of Peace... Well, not quite. Obviously this didn't happen. If it had, then Islamic terror would have ended, 9/11 would have been a singular event."
  19. The Muslims who protested, issued death threats and the Muslim organizations that perpetuate such behavour by not speaking out against it.
  20. They don't even try to accept that it's part of our culture to question and mock religions/beliefs, again, total hypocrisy.
  21. I think the British public would show more sympathy towards these Muslims if they showed more concern about things that didn’t fit in with their Islamification agenda. For example a Muslim commits mass murder and you get the odd reluctant half hearted condemnation from various groups/leaders. Yet someone draws an innocent cartoon and you get all sorts of vocal reaction from all areas of the Muslim community and massive protests world-wide. They moan about Muslims being killed in the war yet show no concern about the Muslims butchered by the Taleban, killed by other Muslim regimes or non Muslims killed by anyone. They scream about human rights when someone is stopped from wearing their traditional dress (often for a logical reason) yet show absolutely no concern for the basic human rights of women and gays suffering under Muslim regimes or in Muslim families. And they expect us to believe that this march is out of genuine concern for the Muslim dead in Afganistan – don’t make me laugh.
  22. Keane is pikey scum.
  23. I agree, we should be more concerned about avoiding tiredness, injury and suspensions that might effect our league and JPT campaigns. So far this season we have played 32 competitive matches - that is more than Man Utd, now we have another midweek game to squeeze in alongside our two legged southern final. it's good to win but I hope we are going to strengthen the squad.
  24. We can all thank Tony Blair for opening this muslim can of worms - ****ing war-mongering idiot. it's about time some extremist did something decent and killed the ****.
