Why has no one been on the moon since 1972?

What, the same advances that should make repeating what was done 30 years ago easy and way more affordable? -
Why has no one been on the moon since 1972?
aintforever replied to thesaint sfc's topic in The Lounge
It is a bit weird how they are just starting to look for water on the moon by shooting probes into it, you would have thought they would have looked 30 years ago when you had men up there driving buggies around and sticking flags in stuff. -
How is debt caused by banks a Socialist debt?

Where do you expect Saints to finish this season?
aintforever replied to Pancake's topic in The Saints
It's a long shot but play-offs are certainly achievable. It will need championship form but we have the best keeper, a strong defence, our strikers are scoring and Hammond is immense in midfield. The important thing is we have strength in depth which will be important when injuries and suspensions kick in towards the end of the season, we don't have to catch Leeds or Charlton, we just have to catch Swindon in 6th place. -
I agree, I hate benefit cheats with a passion. A tax system weighted in favour of lower paid jobs would go along way to get people back to work. I agree with the tory's stance on benefits, there are way too many people sponging.
-
Of course, but surely now is the current climate to push it in that direction and not make life harder for the low paid?
-
Don't be daft. My point is that with the current financial problems where people are struggling to get by, it makes sense to shift the burden of tax towards the higher end, and the Tories traditionally have not favored that.
-
Someone else, in this current climate there will be plenty of people willing and able to do the same job - even if heavily taxed.
-
The Torys have always favored the wealthy, Labour have traditionally taxed higher earners more. Labour are a mess but I really fear for the country under the conservatives.
-
Of course they do, but I think they should pay more than what they currently do. And I think the last thing we need is a Tory government making sure the rich get off as lightly as possible at the expense of the poor.
-
That's exactly why they should be taxed more in this current climate IMO.
-
I think that's one of the main things wrong with society today - people judge success by how much money they can make, not by how much they contribute to society. All this "I worked hard for my fortune" stuff is just ******, there are plenty of people who work just as hard for poor money. A nurse who earns a pitance can work just as hard as a banker who buys and sells a few shares and makes his bank a fortune, and contributes a hell of a lot more to society than making some greedy organisation richer. I earn half decent money, doing something I enjoy which I studied hard for at Uni, but to say I work harder than my chippy mate just because I earn more is complete ******. It's also arrogant in the extreme to suggest these disgusting bankers work harder than some kid getting shot at in Afganistan. I refuse to vote Labour because of the way they lied about going to war in Iraq, and they are a mess. But I think at this present time the very worst thing this country needs is a Tory government. Right now is exactly the time when the rich should contribute a hell of a lot more than they do to try and sort the country out.

I think FA would expect all stadia to at least have a roof, you can't expect to win a World Cup bid if one of your stadiums consists of a half built Fratton Park and a **** off great big temporary scaffolding stand, where people pay £60 a go to get ****ed on by the rain.
-
Of course it's relevant, they either have to remove a roof and build a temporary second tier on top then revert it backor leave enough space around the ground to build a temporary stand the size on one end of Elland Road. Of course it's achievable but I would suspect it would be more cost effective to just build a 40,000 seater.
-
But it's not going to be used as a 25,000 seater, then enlarged, then reduced again - which is what the skates idea is.
-
9,000 temporary seats - I would love to see the design for that stadium! Sounds about as feasible as the plans for shifting HMS Warrior and dumping a stadium in the sea.

It is strange how even the Journos can't even find out anything about this guy. Maybe it's just a cultural thing, I get the impression, in Saudi, billionaires don't like to nosh themselves off in public like they do in the West but usually if you are mega rich there is only so low-profile you can be. Money tends to leave a trail. Wouldn't it be fantastic if this turns out to be some chancer!

Is it straight to pens if a draw?
-
It was our one chance to win something this season, a trip to Wembley would have been superb. Now the best we can look forward to this season is finishing mid table in div 3 - woopie ****ing do.
-
****ing disgrace losing to **** like Torquay, no excuse.
-
But the away support is not going to be moved this season, why shouldn't people who sit in Itchen North be able to sit there now with their friends?
-
OS - Northam for more saints fans/moving seats update
aintforever replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Whatever plans are for next season there is no reason to stop people being able to buy tickets in the Itchen North now. If I had forked out for a season ticket and was now told my friends can't sit with me I would tell the club to shove their ST up their ass. Some fans enjoy sitting in the Itchen North, forcing them to have a less enjoyable matchday experience is not going to encourage them to buy tickets. -
What's a Ponyboy?

Is possible but very unlikely, we would need championship form just to stand a chance - even then we would need results to go our way. Portsmouth are "only 16 points" off top spot in the Prem.
