I'm clinging to the hope that Nath purposely didn't put out a his preferred line-up against Lincoln to keep Brighton guessing. A former colleague of mine knew Eddie Howe well and he said Eddie hates going against teams that have just changed manager because they don't know how to prepare properly.

How? Putin has always been very pro Brexit: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/dec/20/vladimir-putin-theresa-may-brexit-fulfil-will-of-the-people

We all want him to do well but that shouldn't stop you having an honest opinion. Personally I think he will be a spectacular failure. Managing a Prem side is a tough job for any manager and he's got the cards stacked against him from the off. I'm not particularly against hiring managers from the Championship in principle but just think having an experienced manager or manager with a big name/reputation would suit us at this time with the young squad we've got. Basically if you're young player and Koeman/Strachan/Hoddle tell you you're great then you will walk out at Old Trafford with a bit more confidence than if it comes from someone who's never even played there. Hopefully I will be proven wrong though.

There was a fitness expert on the radio before the start of the tournament saying we should see much better football because it is mid-season, looks like he was right. It’s just a shame the atmosphere at most of the games was shocking, can’t compare it to Italia 90.
-
That’s what I wondered, should have sent him off, disgraceful behaviour.

I’m happy to pay more tax but that doesn’t mean I want to, just means I won’t cry like a little baby if a bit more has to go towards providing decent public services. It is really not that hard to understand. I want decent public services so would prefer a government that funds it properly even if it means people like me (middle to high earners) pay more in.

Why would I do that, I'm happy to pay more tax if the government decides to fund public services properly. I'm on OK money but not going to be able to make any difference by myself.
-
I expect some do.

People give loads to charities instead I suppose.

Wow, you really are obsessed with me aren't you. I have barely posted anything for a couple of weeks yet you are still carrying on with this playground bully stuff. It’s nice that you think about me so much but it is a little weird mate. Get a hobby or something, might take your mind of me a bit. As for paying more tax, it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. That’s the elephant in the room with this whole cost of living crisis. For a large chunk of the population it’s not a crisis. I’m reasonably well paid but not rich by a long way, it’s not a crisis for me. It’s a bit of an inconvenience but it’s no big deal if we have to scale down our next holiday or if the mrs doesn’t get the latest iPhone. The house is full of crap we don’t need anyway, people need to get over this addiction to buying pointless shit for the sake of it. For many on high wages it’s not even an inconvenience, there is plenty more medium-high earners could afford to contribute without effecting the economy, let alone the rich - super-rich.

Nathan Jones, Chris Cohen and Alan Sheehan

Is anyone else a bit concerned that none of these dudes has even kicked a ball in the Premier League let alone managed there? I kinda assumed that Nath would have brought in some wise old head to work alongside him. -
Love the way the village idiot has to do a quick follow-up post when he realises the Tories are probably just as corrupt as anyone at the EU, making his whole point irrelevant.
-
The pressure obviously got to him. To be fair it was a bit of a freak situation being the second penalty and against his club team mate but fact is he fluffed it. There are players out there who would stayed cool and just waited for the keeper to move and rolled it in the other side.

Small margins but blasting a pen over the bar isn’t luck, it’s lack of talent or bottle, and that was just to get level with France. We had France on the rack in the second half and didn’t have the ability to make it count.
-
I’ve often wondered why players don’t just study MLT and copy his method, his record is so good it seems like the obvious thing to do. But when you think about it, he was probably the most naturally gifted player the Premier League has ever seen. I expect many have tried to copy him and failed, he could just do things other players (even Harry Kane) couldn’t, it’s as simple as that. It’s just not teachable.
-
This. It was a close game but you can’t argue with the result.
-
We have a decent side at the moment. Us and France are probably the best two sides in the tournament, I expect them to go on and win it quite comfortably. Historically though our record is poor compared to the major footballing nations like France, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Italy and Spain.
-
True. England are just not very good at football.
-
Except Southgate has achieved more than all the managers from the 70s, 80s and 90s combined.
-
To be fair most of his appearances haven’t been 90 minutes so her comments might not be as silly as they sound. According to the site I found his stats work out as a goal about every 120 mins, which is every 1.3 games.
-
I dunno, I wouldn’t fancy our defence up against Brazil. Against Croatia we have a chance.
-
The unique way the Conservatives fund it you mean?

It was obviously an insult. You insult me I will insult you back.
