Loved Clotterills after match remarks. "Well done to Norwich on their promotion. With a little bit of help and a few players that could have been us". Knob!

My dad tells me a story about the time towards the end of the war when some American naval ship passed the ship that he was on and the Yanks hailed across "Hiya Limeys. What`s it like to be part of the second biggest navy in the world?" to which my dad`s ship replied "Hello Yanks. What`s it like to be part of the second best navy in the world?" Don`t know if it`s true but I like the story! Anyhoo, back the thread. I wish the team all of the luck in the world today. To quote Obama "YES WE CAN!!"

Cup Final "It`s a Knockout"! You are right. It was all Cup Final related TV from early in the morning in those days. Strangely, when we won the semi, I was just staggered and excited that we were going to be part of all that stuff not just ths final!

Is denmeadblue a closet Saint?? denmeadblue Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 08:57 AM Re:14. Are you on a wind up or something or just blind to the facts like many other fans. 'purchased success' please tell me why we are in the predicament we are in now . We won the cup and a few years at the top table of football because of 'purchased success'. Like you I was celebrating at the time but now I can see the true extent of what 'purchased success' can bring , it's meant small local businesses, schools and charities all suffering. At the end of the day I am glad there is still a pompey but it has left a rather bitter taste in my mouth

I just get ****ed off that when these stories appear, you get one side convinced that they are completely true and then you get the other side coming on convinced that they are completely untrue. Both sides are as guilty as each other when it comes to intolerance. They are 180 degrees opposed and remain so when the truth is normally somewhere in the middle. The "liberal left" are as entrenched in their views as the "Nazi right" but still try to inhabit the moral high ground.
-
Yeah you mugs! None of this is true. It is 100% all lies put around by the right-wing Nazi press to get you gullible moronic idiots to believe that we don`t live in a fair country where common sense has been all but outlawed!

I think that this post from another thread sums it up for me :- The same could be said about a Brighton "rivalry".

Parents 'responsible for children's bad behaviour'
miserableoldgit replied to Thorpe-le-Saint's topic in The Lounge
This is quite simple. It IS the parents responsibility to make their chidren know what is right and what is wrong. I brought up two daughters and I felt that it was important that they were their own people and that they were not influenced by their "peers" at school. They have both grown up to be women that I can be proud of. Parents have a great responsibility. If you have children, then you have to make sure that they become important, valuable members of society. they are reflecgtions of yourself. -
Yeah I think so. Very impressed with how easy it was to transfer all of my data from my old Nokia N97. Down loaded a few apps. Messing around with it all the time at the moment. Really sad isn`t it!? I have ordered an HTC leather pouch/case for £6 from Amazon.
