Sadly, because of my advanced age, I come from the generation that remembers The Dell before it was "all-seater" and I can tell you that having the whole ground (nearly 30,000) singing "OWTS" at the "slow" speed made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Marvellous!

I don`t care if you are a referee and can see the game from a referees point of view instead of from the crowds, but the one thing that I want from from any referee is consistancy. If he is having a bad game, fair enough. Everyone has those, but yesterday he allowed Lambert and Barnard to be pushed and pulled all over the place without penalisation, and yet gave free kicks for virtually any physical contact on the Owls forwards.

I don`t normally post about refs but he was a complete knob. Virtually every time an Owls player went down he gave a free kick. Lambert and Barnard were battered and (as usual) got nothing.

Quite right, but let`s not forget that this is not just about the service personel who are losing their lives currently. The poppy represents the hundreds of thousands of soldiers, sailors etc who have died defending this country, whether it was against Hitler, the Kaiser or even Napoleon. By defiling the poppy, they are not making a stand against what is happening in Iraq or Afghanistan, they are dishonouring the memory of everyone who has died preserving the freedom that they now abuse.

I wish that our team was as "together" as this lot!
