Totally agree! Some of the cr@p thrown at Russell Martin by certain sections of the "fan base" has been ridiculous. I have said any number of times that when we are winning, the style of football (denying the opposition the ball) is brilliant. When we are losing, it is f@cking frustrating! The proof of the pudding though, is in the eating. Today's result was the icing on a very nice cake....OK....probably too many food metaphors! Well done Russell Martin! You got what you deserved!

Yes.....makes sense....get rid of a Manager who got us to a Playoff Final and replace him with someone who didn't make the playoffs. You're not sure how they didn't get into the playoffs? Anything to do with their manager?

Sadly I won't be at Wembley as I am away, so obviously I haven't had to buy a ticket, but all that I have seen in various places, is people moaning saying that ticket sales have been a shambles. Have they really been, or is this just another stick to beat the club with that some people will invariably use? This is a genuine question.

There is no logic to it....especially those calling for Steve Cooper, who is so good that he is, I believe, still unemployed. The problem is that some people just don't like RM. If he won the PL with us AND found a cure for Cancer, ended poverty and established World Peace,they would still dislike him. Changing managers is not always a positive step....look at last season.....look at Birmingham. There will always be people on here, like a certain poster who has an irrational "dislike" of Nigel Adkins, who will never change their opinion of a manager whatever he does.

Adam and Jo spoke a lot of sense re:- RM, giving him 8.0/8.5 out of 10, on yesterdays Going Home, plus a good fair review of the season.

I suspect there are many that feel like this. I sort of do. Of course I want to see Saints compete at the highest level, but "compete" is the operative word. Is the PL the be all and end all? Do we want be a yo-yo club between PL and Champ....one season happy...next season depressed? Like it or not, we are probably never going to have the investment to compete at the top of the PL. We would be very lucky to find Koeman or a Poch to relive the glory days that we had under them.
