  1. This BS is getting boring and more than a bit stupid. For once I will post something that is more than an opinion - this is FACT! They were ALL responsible for our demise to some degree or another. The only debate is the allocation of the blame. NOBODY is blame free. For the Lowe/Wilde camp to blame Crouch/McMenemy for all of our ills is as bad as the Crouch/Mac crowd pointing the finger at L/W. As for those blaming the fans for all of the problems.......:mad: I realise that if you want a BALANCED view of the situation, with the exception of a handful of posters, TSW is probably not the place to look, but for goodness sake can we have less of the Pantomime Villain histrionics please?
  2. You are quite right. Ted was a legend, but you know that if he was still alive, there would be people on here that would be re-writing history and crucifying him for "leeching" on the club as they are with McMenemy.
  3. McMenemy was manager for 12 years, during which time the club was taken to heights we could only dream of, before or since. 3 Wembley appearances (inc. the 76 win), Runners-up to Liverpool in First Division and a series of "household name" stars playing for the team (inc the then current European Footballer of the Year). Oh, I forgot - none of that was anything to do with McMenemy. It was all down to the players! In fact come to think of it, why do we need a manager? Let the players (not sure who would choose and sign them though) sort things out themselves.
  4. Can I have the last word please?8-[
  5. Ask them their opinion of Peter Ridsdale. That might give us a clue.
  6. Well spotted, Detective Inspector Trousers! Was the usual "IMHO" deliberately omitted or not????
  7. OI!! Do you mind??
  8. If you can spell properly you`re older!
  9. This is a stupid argument. I am no great fan of Parkie but chat shows are a staple of TV all over the world and most people find them entertaining TV. News readers only read the news, actors are just play-acting, sports commentators are just telling you what you can already see......it goes on. What is your point? Are you saying that all people that host chat shows all over the world are talentless? Or is it just Parkinson ( who has been doing his show since the 60`s - must have done something that the public liked) that you object to?
  10. I am probably being naive and missing the joke, but this Tommy Widdrington stuff is a wind up,right? It has to be because I can`t believe that anyone would want, as our manager, a very average former player with no managerial experience at a decent level to lead us out of our current problems, because "he bleeds red and white" is ridiculous. I suspect that MLT "bleeds red and white" more than most, and I can`t see him making a good manager for us either. Haven`t we learnt lessons with inexperienced managers (Grey, Wigley, Poortvliet etc)?
  11. Thats Noddy!
  12. I will say one thing to you :- Glenn Hodd..........Oh I just can`t be bothered any more!
  13. There will still be a forum in the same way that there is (probably) an ABBA forum even though they ceased to exist years ago. It will be full of grey haired old men with long beards or fat old ladies with sagging boobs talking about the "Good Old Days".
  14. 180 degrees? Or so that the stands are facing away from the pitch?
  15. Yep, them damn pesky smilies are always catching me out!
  16. I would have thought that with any serious investor, the teams performance not the thing that will either attract them or put them off. They will be looking at the infrastructure (stadium, training facilities, academy etc) and potential fanbase (they must have been impressed with yesterdays support after the Charlton debacle) rather than the current team. TBH if somebody serious comes in with money, the team is the easiest thing to change, particularly if they come in with a 3 -5 year plan to get Saint back to the Prem. I accept that which division we are in would probably effect the price that a new owner would pay but I really don`t think that current team performance will greatly effect their decision.
  17. Apparently the first episode of this series had over 8M viewers which is a record for the programme so someone is still watching it! Amsair Amsair Executive Aviation was founded in 1993, and is run by Sugar's son Daniel. As with Amstrad, the name Amsair is an acronym taken from the initials of Sugar's name "Alan Michael Sugar Air." Amsair operates a large Cessna fleet, and one Embraer ERJ-135 with the registration G-SIRA, offering business and executive jet charters. Amsprop Main article: Amsprop Amsprop is an investment firm owned by Sugar and controlled by his son Daniel. In September 2006 it bought the IBM South Bank building from private investors for £115 million. The IBM Centre occupies a prime site between the river and Upper Ground east of the National Theatre and west of ITV's London Television Centre. IBM's lease runs for another eight years. The trade press speculates that the site is likely to present a major redevelopment opportunity.[30] This was featured in the last episode of the 2007 series of the Apprentice UK on the 13 June that year, with the final two contestants planning to build a unique property that would be symbolic in the London skyline. Simon Ambrose, winner of the 2007 series of The Apprentice, currently works for Amsprop Estates. Viglen Ltd Main article: Viglen Sir Alan is the owner (and Chairman of the board) of Viglen Ltd, an IT services provider catering primarily to the education and public sector. Following the sale of Amstrad PLC to BSkyB, Viglen is now Sugar's sole IT establishment.[31] Amscreen Sir Alan is Chairman of Amscreen, a company run by Simon Sugar, his eldest son, specialising in selling advertising space based around screens that they provide to schools and bars.
  18. A star?? I am not being nasty, but how was she a star. She was famous (not the same thing as being a star) for being famous. She had no talent whatsoever. She couldn`t sing, act, write, invent things, win at sports etc. What did she do to make her "a star"? As for Parky resenting this, you may be right, but he proably resents it because she has not had to work or train hard at her "art".
  19. A limp what??
  20. Time the Conqueror - Jackson Browne and Tapestry - Carole King
  21. And at what time were the photographs taken??
  22. Looking back, I generally had a good Easter. Forget Friday! Had a good Saturday inc Curry night with family, Sunday Lunch with family, Jackson Browne at a sold out Royal Albert Hall sunday evening (amazing gig!), and Saints winning today. Not too bad.
  23. ...and another thing! That bloody Thomas the Tank Engine and his mates, using all that fossil fuel! Spongebob Squarepants serving high-fat crabbie-patties resulting in obese undersea folk. Bastards!! Quick Nurse! The pills!!
  24. Does that make any difference to his opinion? At least Posh had a career with The Spice Girls, regardless of your opinion of them. I don`t think that Parkinson had any "reality" stars on his programme. Most of them were talented to some degree or another.
