That is exactly what I said as soon as I saw the team sheet. One of the very few mistakes Nigel has made. Bart has to be on the bench, in a game like this you need to minimize risk.

NO!

Pin badges are perfectly acceptabl but as stated above you can only wear one.. In fact I am in the market for a new one. Does anyone have any suggetsions of where some decent smallish ones can be obtained?

They probably thought it just isn't worth it.

I like McDermott as he comes across well so congratulations to Reading although I don't particularly like them as a club. Now I hope they enjoy their party get wasted and take their eye off their game and slip up in there last couple of matches. I honestly think they will drop points; the question is though will they lose one game and can we take advantage by winning both of ours? Lets hope so. Come on Saints!

Mate I could not agree more and I wish I had written that. The Championship is brilliant, so competitive, proper football and the standard is also improving. If we could win this division and not go up and still manage to hold onto our better players then I think I would take it. Most just have this overwhelming desire to watch us play the likes of Man U, Chelsea etc. I really do not miss the days of going to the big grounds and walking home with your tail between your legs after a 2 or 3 nil defeat at best. You have to wonder if their actual desire is to watch Saints or just to be in the premier league, I do wonder! Well done Turkish for starting this thread. Who gives a **** about the Premier League; I just want to win the one we are in that will do me thanks and if we go up as a consequence then so be it.

Colin it's not about giving up but it is more about the realisation that potentially winning one of the best trophy's in English football is all but over. The reasoning behind this is I personally cannot see Reading slipping up in there next two home games against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace. They may have trouble against Birmingham away on the last day but then again I think we will drop some points in one of our next two away games too. As much as I want to get promotion I wanted to win his league and the trophy more. What glory is there in going up as the 2nd place paupers? Yes we had a great time last year and we were so far behind Brighton that we all knew it was highly unlikely that we would catch them. I enjoyed going up but personally on reflection you want to go up as champions surely, particularly when you have been top most of the season. I am gutted, and whilst I still think we will stumble over the line and get promoted I will still be gutted as for me it looks like it will be opportunity missed whilst also giving the Skates more ammunition in saying they derailed our title ambitions. It is just not a nice feeling at all.

He has been very average this season, lucky to have Jos alongside him who has bailed him out countless times.

For me Saturday was a golden opportunity to exact some revenge for the 4-1 drubbing at Fratton Park in our relegation season from the Premier League. It looks like it is going to be a long time before we get another opportunity, so for me it is definitely opportunity lost and a small black mark on what otherwise has been a golden near perfect season. Just a shame really, but if we go up as champions will I care, probably not!

I watched the highlights from Saturday yesterday morning (could not bring myself to before) and your mate is spot on. We totally dominated the game and should have been 4-1 at half time. They were too very good strikes from Pompey in which KD had no chance with either. There is an argument both players should have been closed down quicker, particularly Norris. You must have been watching a different game to me mate. I did not see Cork give the ball away once although he may have on the odd occasion his passing stats yesterday will have been very high. I really don’t get why someone would be annoyed with a player passing the ball backwards or sideways keeping possession of the football so that it can then be worked into another opening possibly on the other side of the pitch. Cork only really started to do this towards the end of the game which was probably direct instructions from the coaching staff as the game was won. Just seen a lovely forward pass from Cork for Lamberts 2nd.
-
We totally bossed it today and Hammond and Cork were outstanding. Those crying that we will struggle without Schneiderlin are wide of the mark, these two are well capable of getting us up. Before anyone goes mad I am not knocking Morgan I think he is a very good player. Cork has his best game for us today IMHO 2 wins and we are promoted, gotta love that!

Please bring back David Luker, not been the same since he left.

No excuses we were rubbish in every department and it just shows that Lambert is key. Anyone who cannot see that has blinkers on. At least this may put to bed the stupid complacent threads from those thinking we are already up. We have a fight on our hands. **** 2nd place I want top spot so now is the time to show what we are made of. You could not pick a better fixture next week to get a reaction from the players. COYR

Lambert has had operation and will miss rest of season. (Rumour)

How we need him tonight. We are a different team without him. No one else up front can hold the ****ing ball up. -

Yep, the witch hunt is over and there have certainly been some moronic posts on this thread. Well done OP. -
Bloody hell and I thought the in-fighting and arguing was bad when we were in administration and getting relegated. Wise up suckers we have never had it so good.
-
If we go up, what away games would you want to go to?
Ewell replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
I have a fair few to still do in the Prem. I will try and do them all as long as they are not midweek and nor too expensive. I am a little surprised I have never managed to get Wolves or Blackburn in. Arsenal Blackburn Rovers Everton Liverpool Sunderland Swansea Wigan Wolves -
No offence but what a load of arrogant and bias tripe. The sort of post that reminds me of the Lowe years. I just hope Adkins and Cortese both continue to do a magnificent job, do not take their eye off the ball and are not as complacent as this post. COYR

I cannot remember where it was but were we not just staying in the same hotel as Barca so they decided to play an unofficial training game against each other. It came about as Alan Ball and Johan Cruyff were old mates. I think Ball asked Johan if he had any decent players they could lend us and didn't Ronnie Ekelund turn up and report for training with us the next day. I may be getting my wires crossed but this info seems to be stored away in my head. The old adage of It's not what you know but who you know comes to mind.

Personally I am not bothered about being in the Holy Grail that is the 'Premier League'. I do however want to win the Championship title as we have never won this division and for a club of our size that is something that needs to be put right. There is also the fact we finished 2nd in League 1 last year but we were by far the best team in the division and had we have not been playing catch up Brighton would have choked if we could have exerted some pressure.
-
Exactly. How else would they also get ontent for there XMAS day special without employing the likes of Kamara, Merson, and Charlie the plank. If you want serious reports o nthe game then list to BBC Radio 5 live.

According to a reporter just on Sky Sports News Saints and Blackpool are interested in Gregg Wylde a young player who left Rangers today. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17221172 I have no idea on his ability but going on his attitude alone he looks like the kind of player who should be on the bus.
