The point being with the Mondeo that you could pick up a mint one with years of life in it for £4k, i.e. a lot less than the £10k budget you've quoted.

Could we not just put them out on the streets and take the kids into care?

Because he can't get in the team. It's that simple. I don't think Connolly should above Sharp in the pecking order and bringing him on first at the weekend was a bit of a surprise.

Congrats. Is there a wedding list yet as I'd like to blah a cheap option before they all get taken?

The undercover idea is a good one. Let's get all the tanked up, scantily clad young women of Southampton to carry small handguns. Then they could just pop a cap in the assailant and Robert is your mother's brother.

To be honest, if you try to detach yourself from the emotive aspects of the issue, there are areas such as Shirley High Street where there was an alarmingly high number of pubs before they started closing, and it's arguably common sense that some of them have shut down. I can't imagine a time when they would all have been full and doing good business because there were simply so many of them. The pubs that will remain will be decent establishments which the majority of people would be happy to set foot in without fear of taking a glass in the face for looking at a local in the wrong way.

Absolute scum.

nothing on the website. This was doing the rounds last weekend as well. Would be a good addition if on the cheap.

You should take these back to the ticket office if they still do refunds.

I thought much of the 1st Half was very nervy. Barnsley were keen to get the ball on the ground and play football and, to be honest, it seemed as though the Saints players and fans were a little taken aback by that. There certainly seemed to be a lot of anxiety coming from the stands and it was quite strongly expressed at times. One old codger behind me was moaning thick and fast throughout the 1st Half with two notable highlights. Number one was "Get the bloody lot of them off!" and "That's the problem with playing Hammond in field. We've got no bite!" I'll be honest and say that I think the way the first goal came about was lucky. I was moaning about the hoof ball when it was initially played, although the finish was good. Lee's contribution for the second goal was excellent. I thought he'd let the ball get away from him at one point, but the way he cut inside and held the ball for a long, long time whilst looking for the pass showed a really impressive level of composure. As ever Guly seemed to divide fans. I've never been his biggest fan and have done my fair amount of criticising him, but I must say that some fans have lost the plot a little with regards to how little they are prepared to criticise him for. We all have an interest in him raising his game so it makes sense not to lambast him for every tiny little detail of his game.

did he do her or something?

I was literally waiting for you to to start a song with ten minutes to go so my Kingsland codger chums could join in but you even ignored my text. And you know why my season ticket isn't in the Northam; I don't like the view! I may have to buy one in the Northam next season but I'm a bit concerned as I've heard there's this racist guy called George towards the back of block 41.

Aside from the usual 'mong' replies that are to be expected on here, there's a few interesting comments worth responding to. The crux of the matter is that I found it odd that we as fans reacted so negatively to the equaliser. I've been to plenty of games where an equaliser is met with a roar of noise going round the stadium as we egg the lads on to getting back in front etc. Last night there was nothing and we were ridiculed for it, but still there was nothing. People that go in the Northam frequently boast about being the stand who start the songs and that's true; they are the most vocal stand as a rule. Therefore, the rest of us look to them to dictate the crowd response; they set the tone in other words. This isn't a 'my stand's better than yours' debate; I'm just shocked at the lack of reaction last night. Was it such a shock that it knocked the wind out the fans? Was it so late that we felt it wasn't worth it? Had we assumed that the team were inevitably going to fail to score because of how much we'd struggled to get the first? The bottom line is that I think we will need to stand up and be counted in situations similar to last night's during this run in, and I was surprised that us fans didn't seem up to the job last night.

Last night there wasn't so much of a peep from the Northam after the Ipswich equaliser; nothing that was audible from the middle of the Kingsland anyway. I thought we were all in implicit agreement that the vocal minority sit (stand?) in the Northam and get the songs going, and that the other stands hopefully then join in. So what happened last night then? To add insult to injury, a significant amount of you started leaving early as well. Don't give me the, "Why didn't you start a song?" line. I can't start songs from the middle of the Kingsland. I would get told to sit down and shut up. All I can hope is that the Northam get something started that creeps round the ground, and then I do my bit to get those around me to join in. So if you were in the Northam and you're a self-professed vocal fan, why weren't you collectively giving it some for the last 10minutes last night? Even when the Ipswich fans were taking the **** of your silence with "You only sing when you're winning."

You should have gone for a Yamaha!

I think you're missing the point. They are loaning out big earners to reduce the wage bill and then presumably looking to take players on loan who they will either pay low wages or no wages at all (wages paid by parent club). The point is that they'll still have a team to put out, but that their wage bill will be much lower. There's nothing against the rules, or even faintly dubious, about this. Close them down.

That Daily Mail article linked to on another thread suggested 80 points should be enough for auto promotion. Have they got it wrong again then?
