  1. I can't for the life of me work out why there are pictures of fans holding handfuls of tickets on the OS. I thought today was database sales, one per customer. Surely they're not letting people go to the ticket office as an individual with an infinite list of customers and just buying as many tickets as they want?
  2. indeed
  3. Not with regards the preparation or purchase of food they don't.
  4. Reading the article very closely, it does leave room for a shirt sponsor on home and away shirts, but not REPLICA shirts. I wonder if there will be a small scale deal with a local company just for shirts worn by players? It will be interesting to watch this one pan out.
  5. I don't think anything you said contradicts with what I said! My point was exactly that; Cortese has weighed up the offers or lack of for headline sponsorship and decided to pursue other means of making a lack of headline sponsorship commercially viable. That's not to say it won't be positive or interesting, but merely that the situation hasn't been brought about by Cortese knocking back a muli-million pound deal with a major company. Rather, he's decided he doesn't want to flog our shirt rights for a 'paltry' six figure sum to some poxy local business for fear of cheapening the brand etc.
  6. You think there were significant funds (in excess of £250k etc) offered for home shirt sponsorship that we turned down?
  7. Sorry guys, if you take that article at face value then I think you're being a bit naive. Essentially, what we have here is a difference of opinions between us and the business world with reagrds to what the club is worth as a sponsorship proposition. Cortese and co will quite rightly state our case as un upwardly mobile team with great potential, whereas the potential sponsors are going to be accusing him of overinflating the value of sponsoring Saints. The upshot will be that there isn't a deal to be done that suits both parties and, on the balance of things, Cortese will have decided that if we're only being offered something in the region of, say for argument sake, £250k a year for sponsorship, then we may as well refuse it and try to make something positive out of it. Mark my words, this club is a business and if somebody had offered a significant amount of money for sponsorship, we would have accepted it. As things stand, we're not interested in insignificant sums of money so we're going to make a fancy shirt. That's fine by me and I look forward to the novelty of it.
  8. When did we get into Europe?
  9. is this the thread where we start picking on each other?
  10. i ordered mine on thurs night and am still waiting nervously.
  11. #-o
  12. It will sell out, but not on thursday! As long as you're prepared to queue for an hour or so you will get tickets at any point during the day. The phone 'seems' easier but not if they don't have enough lines etc. Still, being a season ticket holder now ... it's not my worry anyway. ;-)
  13. rubbish (and i hope your smiley implies the same)
  14. Renting playing fields doesn't make a difference to the food situation. Pompey don't rent school food!
  15. if you have several external walls in your kitchen, i wouldn't bother. You probably won't be pleased with how warm it manages to make it.
  16. he's probably ****ed off that you're trying to create another standing area in the ground.
  17. wait till the pompey game ;-)
  18. good idea, they look like a must.
  19. presumably 'winter sunshine' equals 'sun in your eyes'?
  20. TBF, that sort of behaviour is the reason I stopped watching games from the Northam Stand. Being right in the middle of all the singing is great, but the amount of spite being shouted at the pitch was embarassing. Having to listen a group just shout the usual racist claptrap at Euell last season was the final straw for me. You'll get idiots in every stand I guess, but there seemed to be a concentration of them in that stand. Im much happier with people being 'quiet' in the Kingsland, if it means I don't have to listen to rubbish being shouted.
  21. Sometimes you read posts with a comma obsession that is unwarranted. Commas shouldn't be used just to indicate 'a bit of a pause'. You could have used just the one between 'punctuation' and 'although' and it would have been fine.
  22. Just purchased mine and my mate's by linking his account with mine. Quick and easy as usual. It's great being a season ticket holder. ;-)
  23. Have you paid your £5?
  24. brilliant ... what a nice chap
  25. Don't go to pubs ... Steve Grant is having a big **** up for everyone at his place beforehand. PM me for address.
