And I'll say it again; if you have never had to speak for a prolonged period of time in a language which is not your first, it demands great focus and can be bloody exhausting to start with. S-Clarke is right; look at CP in the action shots of the video and see how much smilier and animated he is. That's where we need him to be Mr Positive, not in front of the camera.

We are not Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool or Spurs. They have more money and whether we like it or not, bigger names with bigger histories. If they come calling players will leave. It really is that simple. Nothing to do with there being anything wrong with the environment at SFC. Even Leicester - who are current Champions - lost one of their best players to Chelsea. We are no different. Until we win something big and/or have a good few years of challenging for a champions league place behind us, players whom we develop and who become very good are going to attract the Liverpools and Utds of this world. No amount of "looking at the management through to the directors involved" is going to obscure or change that fact.

Quite so. And, lest we forget, he is speaking in a language which is not his first. As somebody who speaks French fluently and has lived in France for some years, I know how tiring it can be, at first, to think, process information and speak in somebody else's language. You are constantly focussing on conveying meaning - not emotion - and on avoiding mistakes. I remember too that an esteemed French football journalist wrote at the time of CP's appointment that he was not a media person and did not do well in front of the cameras but that this was at complete variance with the enthusiastic, passionate man you see on the training pitch and touchlines. I for one am quite happy to have a manager who does his talking on and around the pitch.
