  1. If memory serves s/he (not sure which!) was aware of the Swiss completing before others and that Wotte would get the chop. I don't know the person who posted these comments and just happened to notice them whilst idling through the usual nonsense on the Echo site but -spellings aside - I am prepared to give him/her the benefit of the doubt before disbelieving. If it's a load of horse manure, then it's a load of horse manure; we lose nothing by waiting, seeing....hoping.
  2. How bored does Wotton look??! And could Lloyd not find any proper boots?!
  3. From the Echo comments pages today. Cannot vouch for its veracity, but the poster is always very assured in his comments and has been correct on a number of previous issues. We'll have to wait and see I suppose... "As posted yesterday. Strachen will be announced tomorrow or Thursday. He was at the airport seeing off his wife. Info is from the inside. No news because there is an embargo. Appointment was prepared 10 days ago. Transfer targets (out and in) are already in place. Appointment is 5 year contract with performance payments (significant ones) linked to promotions, one to championship, then CCC to Premiership. Affordable entry cost but huge financial incentive to be successful. Echo have missed this because they aren't connected inside the new regime. New team are cautious of Echo news style and approach in this important transition and new start period. The news out is being managed very carefully hence Echo's thin news stream since the takeover. Just look back at stories on saints since then. You won't find anything of substance or value.
  4. If anybody with kids has bought Richard Hammond's book about the science of cars, have a look at the picture of the Liebherr T282 - as tall as a small house and over 3000BHP, capable of carrying over 500 tonnes of mining rubble. Put that at the centre of our defence next season and we're sorted; more mobility than Thomas too.... :-)
  5. SInce Fry stated yesterday that he is committed to completing with the current bidders - in language which, for administrators, comes as close as is humanly possible to stating that it is a done deal - I would not worry about this pack of jokers.
  6. I just want this to end, one way or another.
  7. Weirdly, for the first time in months, my 4 year old son decided - voluntarily - to wear his yellow Saints kit today. He obviously knew something was about to happen...
  8. Which, if their reporting is accurate, would mean that an agreement with the FL has been reached or Pinnacle have retreated and accepted their ruling / conditions. Either way, if true, then it's good news all round. FIngers, toes and everything else crossed....
  9. Many thanks Tony for your continued communication. Million dollar question, but do you have any incling as to when this might come to a conclusion?
  10. Since the FL's own publicly stated intention in such cases is to protect its own interests (one of which is each division of its league being fully subscribed) and the continuing existence of its members (see UP's posts on another thread), I very much doubt that the FL would gain anything by simply jettisoning the Pinnacle bid or by playing hardball - at least not to the nth degree - as they would be extending the timescale for any deal to be struck and thereby potentially threatening their own structure, should any other deal also fail to materialise. There is no way on earth, to my mind, that anybody on the FL committee could be unaware of what a complete charlatan MJ is; even they could not give him the sort of credence that they would by that stage have denied Pinnacle. Compromise is on the cards, if you ask me, at tomorrow's meeting. The FL have backed themselves into a corner in a huge way, and now have to find some face-saving mechanism whilst adhering to their own misson statement.
  11. Put it this way; his post on here today + his reply to my PM = a much happier Invictasaint than might otherwise have been the case this weekend. Factor in the sensible reasoning of UP, Halo and others and I think the picture is at least becoming a little clearer.
  12. In a moment of extreme anger, depression, frustration but somehow also galvanised support, I sent Tony Lynam a PM last night, just so that he could be aware that we are all standing four square behind him. I did this with no desire to start a conversation, or even to get a response; I just wanted him to know how I and many others feel at the moment and how we desperately want him to succeed. Imagine my surprise when, in my inbox this evening, there was a reply from the man himself. Top, top bloke - the sort of bloke we need at this club to help make it great again.
  13. All of which begs the question Steve of why - with complete respect to you and your research - the highly expensive legal minds working with Pinnacle have not considered everything you raise (it is their job after all) and come to the same conclusion. If this is how things stand, and how things, based on precedents, are likely to pan out, why in the name of all things holy did they proceed on the assumption that this game of brinkmanship would work?? I cannot for a minute believe that they could have entered into this period of exclusivity in such a naive fashion, with so many lawyers advising them, to risk losing half a million pounds for nothing. It just doesn't add up does it? By all means let's see them push the boundaries a little and see what happens, but for the love of God, if it's a case of seeing £500K disappear down the swanny and losing the club, or starting with your option 3 (start in DIv 3 [League 1] on -10), then the latter MUST prevail. If it is anything more insidious than this - i.e. differentiating between SLH and the new SFC Ltd - then surely it would be an insurmountable obstacle to ANY bidder as Fry has already stated explicitly (Echo quotation yesterday). All of which, ironically, should put Pinnacle in a position of strength not weakness; they have just got to learn when to stop pushing and start signing - and quickly!
  14. Another non-story from the Echo. What they fail to realise is that Fry has already said that ANY bidder would come up against this same problem, irrespective of who they are. If it is not resolved then the sale of the club will not be completed - whether the buyer is the richest man in the world or Mark Jackson. Thus, whether MJ has £10 billion and Arsene Wenger lined up to manager us is of absolutely no significance whatsoever; if the problem cannot be resolved, the sale cannot happen.
  15. Reading Halo's post in conjunction with Dubai Phil's "catch 22" post on another thread leads me to conclude that some very clever legal people on Pinnacle's side have thought this through long and hard and have realised that they can push this as far as is possible before forcing the deal through. IMO this is not a last minute hitch on Pinnacle's part, but rather a last minute realisation on the FL's part that they are on very dodgy ground legally speaking and may have to find a compromise to save themselves. We shall see. MLT's comments on SSN at 7.20 today were encouraging though....
  16. Was thinking exactly the same thing when I read the quotation. It clearly had Frey down as saying "any" bidder - not the current one, but any bidder. Thus as you rightly say NickG it is in his interests to clear this up on Monday, one way or another, and then help Pinnacle go form there. To start from scratch, with another bidder, and risk losing the creditor's X amount in the pound alreadt agreed (far greater than anything they would receive if we went into liquidation) would be extreme folly. Whatever we may think of Fry, he cannot be that naive or stupid. A few more bumps as we descend through the cloud cover and then....smooth landing. Welcome to New SFC everybody, enjoy your stay....
  17. Somehow managed to submit the same post twice, once with the spelling mistake..... and once without.....
  18. I'm assuming this is all very much tongue in cheek...non?
  19. I'm assumng this is all very much tongue in cheek...non?
  20. I do find it ironic that there are people on here moaning about Tisdale when he has guided his team from non-league to the very same division into which all our other custodians - many of whom many of us were happy to see at SMS [Redknapp, Burley] - have collectively allowed us to sink....
  21. I thought it was soul singer Errol Wetup
  22. Is the answer raspberry jam? Do I win?
  23. For evil to prosper, it is sufficient for good men to do nothing.
