  1. I just knew if they re-ran this stripe they would make an absolute pigs ear of it - obviously we have to wait for official word.
  2. Ah ha - another one hoodwinked, a very split personality, operating over quite some time.
  3. I have that having to work North London again - I use sat nav more for the timings to customers and some new roads - I've pulled up at many a customer and recognised the vicinity and where old customers were back in 1987-92 and I think how the bloody hell did I find my way to these tucked away places, armed only with the paper back sized A-Z with tiny print and felt tips marking which road I needed to be on! Probably why today my in built geolocation is part homing Pigeon, folk get in my car and are amazed I just drive to where we are going 100's of miles away sat nav free, when they query it I often ask how are you going to get anywhere if someone turns off all the satellites? Very few youngsters know how to use a traditional map.
  4. Watching the Nations League Final - Portuguese fans have been giving Cucurella dogs abuse from minute one.
  5. How did he miss that - PSG have been a pleasure to watch.
  6. Thats about the nub of it - not speculation, as I heard the pretty much the same from someone inside the club at the time. If we had played him in Europa League games, if Man Utd had stuck in an offer in January the value would have dropped through being cup tied in Europe, which would have been no good to our selling club profile. Having just won the Euros and best mates with Ronaldo, the comment "You've changed" was allegedly a hat he wore well - being a bit of a cockwomble didn't endear and each week he was out his stock was increasingly diluted: welcome to West Ham.
  7. Weird to see both goals scored were own goals
  8. They ran out of medals - oops
  9. Jeez cue the Laurel and Hardy theme tune
  10. Even big Dunc thinks we are on the beach!
  11. Maybe Young in his last game can gift us a penalty………………IF we get that far up the pitch!!
  12. Being a Man Utd academy product - Henderson likely made a quip.
  13. You mentioning that - we went to Man City and conveniently my sister lives in Glossop, as did my mates boss who was a City fan - parked at my Sisters and met his boss and family in a Glossop Pub then on the train to Manchester, mates boss saw safe entry into the City fans pub/club .- After the match stood on the platform at the local station no end of City fans “you know you’re on the wrong side for Piccadilly!” The confused looks when we said we were going to Glossop was quite amusing - even more so when those who asked why tried to figure out how someone with a sister in Glossop ended up as a Southampton fan.
  14. A few folk showing their age on here with tales of the good old bad days of football - for folks who never experienced it you could start a recollection with the opening words of the Roy Batty monologue in the original Blade Runner “I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe…”. By contrast the last time I went to Goodison we parked for free on the road out of Liverpool near where Everton Ladies currently play at home, after seeing locals park there “you’ll be fine here, we’ve parked here for years” said an Everton Dad and his daughter, all locked up we said we would follow them as they know the way “we’re not going to the ground yet, we’re going to the pub” like we said you know the way 😁! They took us into the Pub, where even there was friendly. Walking to the ground another conversation with a group of “lads” all fascinated to hear what other away games we had been to especially the league one grounds. On the drive home, with us all being in our 50’s, we did comment what a nice time we had (despite the loss) against the backdrop of playing dodge the flying bottle going to footie in our teens. Right - carry on 😁
  15. Just read this bit in the Echo link "Albert's back in and around the club. I think he's had an Achilles issue, which we're hopeful will be coming to a conclusion soon, and we can get him back on the grass." Made me think that he's either playing World Cup Hide and Seek - or the reporter slipped a random groundsman at the far edge of Staplewood a tenner through the fence in return for a juicy nugget of news.
  16. Well those old enough to remember would say not. Saints strip a good few years ago was the traditional red and white stripes with Blue shorts. Back then fabric technology wasn't what it is today and as the season rolled through the shorts would get lighter and lighter with each wash, so it was decided to switch the shorts (or knickers as they were referred to on the programmes back then) to black as the dye held better. So you could say that the blue on that is a nod to the past, as for the gold text, Saints away colours were "old Gold" and black - bit like Wolves. Anyway I wouldn't want to see our badge changed, its unmistakable, its unique, and I think that it has withstood the test of time.
  17. The attendance was pretty impressive too at 38,000 - there was quite a bit of excitement at getting to the final locally in North Hampshire.
  18. I know - I knew I’d prime someone 😀
  19. That is something he IS very good at. The League Cup Final he was giving Ibrahimovic a bit of chirp, which was entertaining to watch. Zlatans face was “you’ve got some minerals”.
  20. Wow how about that! 3rd Clean sheet in 48 games apparently!
  21. I am amazed, given how our defence seems to have more holes than Swiss cheese, that someone hasn’t taken us “to the f**king cleaners” - (to vaguely quote the opening of Life of Brian)
  22. They should bag this up and sell it in the club shop - my Roses would love it and as for my Rhubarb, it would be spectacular!
  23. Me too, flying toy gliders, ice cream, swings and things with a giggling little 4 year old character - priceless.
  24. Far more joy on a grand tour of the village play parks with my 4 year old Grandson - thanks lad for giving me something better to do.
