  1. As always the sound quality is spot on.......................................... in the gents under the Chapel!!!!
  2. Very true: At the final whistle yesterday after an enjoyable game, as the PA was announcing "Saints are next in action............" I turned to my mate and said ".....in Italy!!" "righto back home pack our bags", and he said "see you at Gatwick on Thursday morning": the pair of us grinning like fools. Not ashamed to say 52 years of age and excited!
  3. We are flying into Geneva from Gatport Airwick for 9:10 pick up the hire car, meander down to Milan through the Mont Blanc tunnel, arrive Milan for lunch dump the gear, have a mooch about. Game probably more drinking, pour ourselves into bed. Leisurely breakfast amble back over the Alps lunch along the way for our flight back to Blighty at 19:10
  4. Benteke what a fantastic miss from the spot, called from my sofa the moment he picked up the ball
  5. Save a copy for me outside the Saints Siro, I will be wearing a red carnation with a rolled up copy of The Times under my arm.
  6. Everyone vote for a winter break and **** the TV right up..........**** us around last Christmas, **** us right off this Christmas......... The FA should sack themselves for taking such a big bung off the TV companies and not respecting the game or the fans: Sam Alladyce is a bloody Saint compared to his past employers!! ...................... and breathe!!!!!!
  7. Well that's all my Accor hotel points used up 4 nights in Prague, just Budapest left to tick off the list of old European cities. And just catch the Christmas market that starts on the Saturday after the game.
  8. while you are waiting here's one to keep you going: Who was the goal keeper who received up a runners up medal after a match where he didn't concede a goal?
  9. I remember what he looks like now.................. He's this months player (along with Juanmi) on the Saints calendar.
  10. At least we jumped straight in at M with Juanmi and missed out K it's when we get to Z will be a giggle
  11. Bit like that Rugby rule on free kicks that they brought in, give the ref some mouth and he will march forwards a further 10 yards, that fizzled out too unfortunately.......... probably because Man U were copping it every game.
  12. Thanks to cameras up every Oriface in sport this is a moment one chap will never forget
  13. I have to say only having watched that once, he says what could be done not what he can do for the folks scamming him.......... or facilitate it for a fee
  14. Does make me smile on here, all the moaning at certain players, invariably the usual suspects, it's as if we are Real Madrid and have found ourselves in the lesser waters of the Europa league and just played against some backwater end of the earth team. When in reality we are Southampton who have not really experienced European football for a good few years l, yes we had a dabble last year, and a sniff in 2003. But in reality we are novices, just about every player on the pitch is a novice to European football, so to walk away with a draw, especially when VVD alluded to having a difficult journey getting to Israel, and he is a man with probably the most European experience in the squad, against a well organised team is nothing to be upset about. The only players who were disapointing were Long (who looks to be in dark place right now) Redmond (who needs to buy a lottery ticket around the box) and Clasie who I thought was the invisible man. He was right to take off Hesketh as at the time we had 2 inert players in the middle, Clasie having more experience was the right one toleave on. Most of the slaggers opinion on Martinas game seem based on the early period of the game, once he found his feet he was much better, as always he cracked in some good balls into postions you know he will time and time again, you could see his frustration that no one was up for getting on the end of them. Matty Targett could score a hat trick and there would be people moaning. As for moaning about JWP those still banging the same drum to the same tune about him they were 2 seasons ago, really should go and watch another sport, as he is much improved this season.
  15. I have looked and looked for that clip but can't find it anywhere, even the following night it was exciting, as you say the the Solent commentator was whipped up into quite a fremzy almost to the point of needing to be dragged into the car park and hosed down before he set the West Stand alight.
  16. Only issue I have found is having followed a link to a yarn from Facebook on my iPhone, is that the page is in a bit of pickle, in that you get the heading then a white space, then found I had to drag the screen over to the right hand side to read the article.
  17. You're welcome, it's what these pages are for................ Shame you won't be getting a free Doughnut and beer off their chairman to celebrate his Birthday this time.!
  18. Basingstoke to M1 is average an hour tops even with the roadworks, and folks dicking around on both the M3 & 25 (I go to the next junction up the M1 from the airport on a regular basis) M25 to Luton Airport is 20 mins. Not sure what M3 from Southampton to Blazingsmoke is like of a morning. Time you have to be there traffic should be easing off. I would check AA Roadwatch just to inspect your route for serious hold ups. If you open the curtains and its raining don't dilly dally, I would get on with your departure as the road fills up with faffers!
  19. Fraser often seems conscious of his height and has a face downwards looking out from under his eyebrows posture, add that to a snapper in the dark suddenly banging off a burst of images in your face, you can guarantee the happy snapper will be reaching for the Kleenex on seeing the results of his next exclusive in the News of the World: "Englands #2 Keeper leaves London nightclub off his tits". Actually you could apply that to most of those pictures, step out of a dimly lit club into the night, Pow!! Strobe light going off in your face, you are going to pull some funny faces. I'm more concerned that Klopp has sent the quiet one of the ex Saints to start the tapping up for next summer!!
  20. Put LE2 7SQ into your Sat Nav That should put you on Freemans Common Road, which is a trading estate a few minutes walk from the King Power Stadium. It is a one way loop system and most of the units not open "give up" their frontage to match day parking. I think last year most of them were managed by a local charity benefiting from the funds. I do suggest that you drive almost right the way round to find an available yard with space, as it can be a bit of a chore queuing to get out if you opt for one of the first ones on the one way system. There is an indoor Cricket Centre almost right round where to where you enter the loop, they normally provide a "free" pint inside as part of your parking charge. Which might also be useful if you are also in need of the "facilities" especially for your daughter (knowing what kids are like).
  21. Mrs JBS not too happy there was no popcorn available for away fans!!!!
  22. As we were walking up from Stratford, Dad and his teenage daughter were marching along, and he was chuntering on about it being a blooming stupid walk, she replied it's not that bad, to which he responded, "well you won't be saying that when its ****ing down with rain and we've bloody lost again". Even West Ham fans in earshot couldn't help but laugh at his grim outlook.
  23. Like was just said by Turkish, 1st half West Ham were camped in their own half for long periods, with VVD and Fonte playing between each other right up on the half way line. West Ham were playing like the primary objective was not to concede, if they could nick one on the break that would be a bonus. I thought, although un-spectacular, we showed a lot of patience probing and prodding and not doing anything silly. Then we got through them and Charlie did the business and the game was changed, in the last 5 minutes West Ham were in our half in greater numbers. i don't get this "the opposition were awful" line, I think we just don't give them the chance to play. 2nd half we just kept our foot on their throat, only when we scored the second did we release the pressure a little. So glad we were on the lower tier, you felt for the folks on the second tier when you looked back them. Also I have never heard so many negative comments from home fans, so many were beaten before they got into the ground.
